Since pool hopping is suspended from June 28-July 5 and SAB closes down to "hopping" on July 1, there's just one week of pool hopping left. All those who are going to WDW this week --- enjoy! :)

PAM, you mean it's the final week for "official" poolhopping;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ......

  Uhm...yeah that's what I meant. ;)

Seems like they could let a few folks in when the temps go below 50. ;)

We hopped on the last day of our VWL stay on June 14th. SAB was not crowded, but they were checking IDs and issuing wristbands to all guests. The CM said many DVCers were still unaware of the "No Hopping" policy and he has had some heated discussions with a few DVCers concerning the new policy.

Huh. That ID checking thing has got to go.

SAB pool cost me an add on of 100pts. When my wife heard that we wouldn't be able to use the pool we did a small add on. At least we will be able to use the pool, every other year, or a couple of nights during our trip to Disney!!!
:)

Is that no more pool hopping at SAB effective from July 1st--effective until further notice :( ?

effective until further notice

SAB has been permanently removed from the list of pools where DVC members can "hop". AKL was never added to the list. So, those two pools are "off limits".

We'll probably still straggle over to SAB occasionally from BWV. If we're asked to leave, no problem. If we're cuffed and arrested, I'll seek bail money on the DIS:D :D :D ..........

I know others may not agree, but I'm glad to see this is occurring. I think we may be underestimating how much pool hoppers contribute to the crowds, and it does make sense to me to put limits on the pool with the addition of BCV. I hate to hear people are upset, I think it has been communicated pretty widely. We've been talking about it on DIS for at least 6 months, it's been on the official website, and communicated in Vacation Magic.

I read above where someone said they had to add on just ot use the pool. Actually, I think all you really need to do is make reservations at BCV in the 7 month window, and you'll be all set if you'd like to use SAB.

Those making such a big deal of this may end up causing the loss of Pool hopping at other wonderful locations, like Poly. Too bad.

We went to SAB this past week. (Tuesday)And as someone else mentioned, it was very, very empty but we still got our ID's checked and had to get wristbands.

We also hopped to the Boardwalk where no one even took notice of us.

Then we went onto the Poly and had our ID's checked to get towels.

I would like to see a policy where if you are staying at BCV you can only use SAB, no hopping to other resorts. We can't use your pool....you can't use ours!!!

I would venture a guess that the number of BCV people pool hopping to OKW might be fairly limited. However, I don't think that limiting a BCV member to take a break during the middle of a Magic Kingdom day, and pool hop over to the Contemporary or Poly to cool off a bit is needed. There is certainly not a large crowd at a pool as a reasonable cause for such a policy as there obviously is at SAB. This just seems like sour grapes to me, and unecessary.

All you have to do is make reservations within the 7 month window at BCV and you can use the SAB all you want. Tha is if you can stand the tiny rooms, the very close proximity to the road and the absence of views unless you like looking out over the parking lot. And, if you'd like to stay in a GV, your out of luck at BCV. Come on guys, too much is being made out of this SAB pool thing.

Happy swimming everyone.

Can DVC guests hop to other pools at the Beach Club - i.e. the Beach Club quiet pool or to Dunes Cove (the new BCV quiet pool)?

Sounds like they have a good reason to limit pool hopping to SAB. Same reason they don't allow it during major holidays. As Captain Midnight said, 'too much is being made out of this SAB pool thing'.
