Final Staging and Treatment Plan is In

We're thinking of you all, Steve.

DopeyRN-- it's Hodgkin's....

more vibes and pixie dust for Nicole

I lost my father to bone cancer as a teenager(16) and know all too well the effects on the family.

Still keeping your family in our thoughts and prayers!

You are both in my prayers. As a cancer survivor I can tell you that the few bad days are worth it for the many wonderful days ahead. I had stage 1 Ovarian Cancer and have been clean for 13 years now.

Here's hoping that the chemo goes smooth. Attitude is everything and it sounds like yours is great.

All the best.

Best wishes and prayers to your wife and family. That positive attitude is more than half the battle. I truly believe that.

You all continue to be in my prayers Steve, I was scared beyond belief these past few days that my lipoma could be cancer until I got the results yesterday ( why is it that we always think of the worst first? ) , I cannot even imagine how you guys must feel but as many others have said , medecine has come a long way and treatments are not what they used to be. There are many wonderful people here that having gone down the same road you are on now, that can give you wonderful genuine advice and support , and even those of us who fortunately have not gone down that road can give you genuine support , this is a great place to come to , I have no doubts about this.
Best of luck to you , keep us all updated whenever you can, {{{{{{{hugs}}}}}} to all.

Olga

Continued prayers for Nicole, you and your son, Steve.

It's good to have the plans set and know what will happen next. I hope it all goes as smoothly as possible.

Does your wife keep a journal? It may help.

Take care,
Annemarie

My thoughts and prayers are with you and Nicole and your son at this time.

You'll continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks everyone :):)

I did make one correction to my original post (for the better :):)) -- it's 4 treatments of chemo and not 4 rounds (2 treatments/round), so it'll be 8 weeks of chemo (ironically, it looks like Nicole's last treatment will be on her birthday) and then radiation.

My continued prayers for your wife and your family, Steve. I just went thru chemo and radiation for breast cancer last year, so I know some of what Nicole will be going thru. Sounds like they caught it early with a good prognosis. It's a tough road, but you CAN get thru it. {{hugs}}

And what a great birthday present for Nicole - her last treatment on her birthday! Sure, she won't feel too great, but just knowing that chemo is over is such a wonderful thing!!

I'm so glad you got a definitive and positive diagnosis.

Prayers continue for your family.

Thanks for the update, Steve! I think about your wife and family from time to time and keep hoping all is going as well as possible :)

I hope you are able to continue to give us good updates :)

Well it sounds like they caught it very early on Steve. That's great news. Chemo and radiation isn't going to be fun, but hopefully that will put an end to the disease. I continue to pray for your family.
