Final payment?

I had a few questions about making our final payment on our DVC membership and don't have access to my member guide right now. I was hoping you could help?

1. When making the final payment, do I have to call member services first to let them know we are making the last payment? (Probably a strange question, but I had to do this for my car loan a few years ago)

2. Is there anyway to pay it on our credit card? (We would love to get those extra Disney rewards! )

We didn't contact Member Services until after we sent in our money. We did let our Guide know, and he called us when the payment was recorded in the computer. At that point, we could call MS and start making reservations.

And yes, you can put the payment on your Visa card if your limit allows. I suggest contacting Bank One beforehand...when they see those big charges they tend to think someone has stolen your card and is going nuts charging away!

I paid for my DVC purchase with an American Express card which has virtually no limit. However, they did tell me I needed to pay off the large balance before the normal due date in order to continue charging with it.

Just an update in case anyone else was interested....

I called Member Accounting and got the loan balance from a very nice CM. She let me give her the credit card number over the phone to pay it off right then. They accept Visa, MC and AMEX. We should get paperwork in the mail between 30-90 days. It was all very quick and painless!
