Thank you! I have found that email tooI received the same email. Likely just an auto-generated message based on the normal timeline. Below is part of the language from the
‘extension” email I received in December.
“All of us at Disney Cruise Line hope you and your family are staying well. We want to let you know we’ve temporarily modified our final payment and cancellation policies to provide you with greater flexibility.
For sailings through September 30, 2022, we are temporarily extending final payment until 60 days prior to sailing for Guests booked in unrestricted stateroom categories. This means that those Guests who have not yet reached their final payment due date can wait until up to 60 days prior to sailing to pay for their cruise vacation. Onboard cruise activities can be scheduled within your Castaway Club booking window once final payment is received.”
That hasn't changed. If you want to book your activities etc you must be PIF by your castaway level date. If this is your first cruise then it's 75 days prior to sailing. Silver is 90 days, Gold is 105 days and so forth. The problem with waiting til 60 days to PIF is that you can't book your activities etc.Thank you! I have found that email tooAnd what is the timeline for when we can book onboard activities?
I wouldn't bother. Hold times are nuts and it's a glitch. There have been several threads over the last few days where people are reporting glitchy PIF dates appearing online.I received the same email about an August cruise this morning. I looked at the app and website when I got the email this morning and it said final payment due 6/14. An hour later, that date has changed to 4/15. Something fishy is going on. I'm on hold with DCL.
Same thing happened to me, but my cruise is earlier and so have to call in. I have the placeholder discount on my cruise and the deposit is substantial so I don't want to roll the dice on it getting auto-cancelled because the PIF date moved.I received the same email about an August cruise this morning. Thanks for the update. Mine still has the wrong date. This is just getting ridiculous.I had the same issue and got through this morning. It is a glitch and they are aware. About 15 minutes after speaking with an agent I got an email confirming my cruise and the PIF date was adjusted back to 60 days from sailing. We plan to pay early so we can book excursions etc but I’m happy to know I won’t be cancelled if I don’t pay next week.
Keep at it. Since all the PIF’s didn’t adjust back, I’m thinking they did mine manually. Good luck! Thanks for the update. Mine still has the wrong date. This is just getting ridiculous.
You are probably correct - I can only imagine how many people are trying to get through!!Keep at it. Since all the PIF’s didn’t adjust back, I’m thinking they did mine manually. Good luck!
We got two e-mails one day apart this week. First one said March 22, the second said May 19th which is 60 days from our July 18 cruise. Is there any reason NOT to PIF early? I have the money set aside and it's not like its earning any interest?
Nope. I always PIF before my booking (GOLD) window opens! So I can book tastings, palo brunch, etc. Then I just wait (not so patiently) for 30 days to do my check in. And then wait wait wait for the cruise!! 63 days to go!We got two e-mails one day apart this week. First one said March 22, the second said May 19th which is 60 days from our July 18 cruise.
