Final Countdown

Well, we are down to the last week before our trip to Disneyland with our six year old boy. A week from today we will be there ... well, technically we'll be at Universal Hollywood giving someone little his "Transformers" fix. But then, a week from tomorrow it's 4 days at Disneyland and the Grand Californian.

The only thing I haven't figured out is how to tell him!

We have about a 2 hour drive to the airport from our home next Saturday, so i'll have to tell him something. Not sure when or how to tell him that it's Disneyland though. I think he'll be excited. We havent been there for about 2 years. And THIS year he is tall enough to ride on almost all of the rides

We are surprising our 8yo dd the day before. We were going to wait until the day of, but with a 6:15 am flight, I was afraid I wouldn't get the happy reaction I expect at 4am! So we are going to return from Thanksgiving to our elf Lolly spilling the beans. She is going to find our tickets, etc, while we are gone and tell her. It will be great!!
Maybe you could give him a series of clues on the way there to help him figure it out? No matter it will be a fun surprise! Have a great trip!

4 1/2 more hours until we hop into the car for our 8 hr road trip for 8 days at the Happiest Place on Earth! I hope Mother Nature cooperates!

6 hours until we jump in the car for the 2 hour drove to the airport, followed by a 2 leg flight to Orange County. With a little luck we will check into the hotel around 9pm Pacific Time! Can't wait!

Yay! 19 more hours until 8 of us pile into the van for the 7 hour drive! I'm so ready for my entire family to experience the holidays...especially staying at the Grand! Hope everyone has an amazing trip!!!

Well, we drove to Tulsa and had lunch at Cracker Barrel. We had told him we were taking a weekend trip to celebrate his Mom's birthday. After lunch we drove to the airport, unloaded the car, and went inside. The whole time he didn't ask a single question or wonder what we were doing even once!!

Finally, I asked "Do you know where we are?"

He looked around and said, "the airport."

"Do you know why we are here?"

He replied, "I guess to get on an airplane."

Ok.. "If you could go anywhere you wanted on an airplane, where would we go?"

He says, "Mickey's Boat?" (He was a BIG fan of Disney Cruise last year)

"No, not going back to Mickey's boat this time. Where else?"

"Disneyland?" He asked, eyes wide.

We nodded and happy theatrics followed. My wife got it all on video.

One hour until departure. At the airport and ready to go. Hope everything runs on time and we can catch the 9pm Disneyland Express from SNA.

Was nice meeting you today!! Small world! We met on the Mater tractor ride.

We ended up riding RSR 3 times today, two in the morning and one at night. Watched WOC from our balcony at GC Villas.

Really a great day! Looking forward to 3 more just like it.
