OK...having been to Disney well over 25 times over the years....i am still trying to settle on the appropriate budget....here are the factors, tell me if this is too much or too little

1) DVC members staying at old key west
2) No dining plan, but do have Tables of Wonderland
3) Usually one character breakfast during the week
4) Kids are old enough that wife and I enjoy some cocktails a few nights out of the week
5) Premium annual passes so 25% off souveniers
6) driving our own car, gas money already seperated out

That all being said....I am planning on about $300 per day for seven days $2,100.....Am I crazy to think this should be just fine....I am asking because I am going completely no credit card from now on at disney, and dont want to get caught short????

Have you looked at the menus for the restaurants and priced a few things out? If you have a TIW card I am guessing you will be doing many TS restaurants.

because we are staying DVC we are able to do at least two meals during the week in the room....we will probably do 3 dinners, and counter service for lunches in the parks or at the pool....probably one sit down lunch

Hello Fellow New Englander:wave:

Driving down huh? How do you find the drive? We usually fly out of Manchester as I'm not sure I could do 24 hours in the car.

You didn't say how many kids you have so it's hard to answer. I know when I went as a teenager our budget went up a little as we were always on our own for part of the vacation. We are a family of 4 and without a dining plan and a one good sit down dinner we spent around $150 a day on food eating QS the other two, a few drinks and snacks throughout the day. We don't really buy much for souvenirs anymore (I think we have one of just about everything:lmao:). We do some side things like the hair wraps and such for DD. Based on a family of four and your information, I would say $300 a day is plenty.

I know you want to pay cash, but I would suggest the Disney Visa card. You earn points to be used on your next vacation. The base card has no fee and earns 1%. You can then use the points to help pay for some of the expenses on the next trip. Just make sure you save the money ahead of time and pay it off in full when making charges.

GO PATS!

Are you using a debit card for your spending money? I can't imagine carrying that much cash.

Sheila
