"The Filthy Rich" - Ugg
A show produced by Joe Simpson, Jessica and Ashley's Dad. He got the idea to produce a show about young adults that have rich parents. He got the idea while watching "City Slickers."

The Hulk's daughter is on, Bruce Jenner's daughter, the daughter of the CEO of Yahoo, I think the daughter of Geraldo Rivera-never knew he had a daughter that old, and some guys, but I didn't catch what their parents did.

2 groups or 2 teams are staying at a Dude Ranch. They are given tasks and they will be going on a cattle drive. Who ever's team works the hardest, gets money like $5,000 towards charity, for that task of the day. They brought people in that would benefit from their work and these rich kids could have cared less. They wouldn't even look at the people.

In the middle of the show, Bruce Jenner and his wife had a little blurb. They said they came to visit their dd at the ranch and they said Joe Simpson flew their daughter and another girl to Austin for the weekend. They were not at camp.

The station E was praising Joe Simpson saying how intelligent he has become and such a strong producer that people are starting to take seriously. That is how I ended up watching Filthy Rich-I was watching 2 hours of a special E was doing on the Simpson Family.

Yeah, and just so no one gets the wrong idea, I don't have a problem with someone choosing to remain a virgin until marriage. But, having a ceremony and a ring and a vow with your dad is over the top and extremely creepy. Oddly, I never heard that he did the same thing with Ashlee. Guess she's allowed to go out and get freaky.

True, it doesn't seem like Ashlee is nearly as interested in proclaiming to the world that her dad is the only man in her life. Joe seems obsessed with Jessica. This adds to the creepy factor.

Oh, and I tuned into the Simpson thing on E for 2 seconds and he was talking about how Nick is now his (joe's) "flesh and blood." He didn't even say this metaphorically. Now, I know my parents love my DFi, but they don't go around calling him their flesh and blood.

It is sooo overtly sexual
There seems to be this weird dicotomy between the simpsons religion and their sexuality. I am not saying a religious person cannot be sexual.
Their goals just seem a bit weird to me. You have to stay a virgin until marriage- but it is ok to use your sexuality to make lots of money.
Am I making any sense?

DH and I almost hurled when we were watching "Newlyweds" a couple of years ago...the filming of the "Sweetest Sin" video showcased Jessica and Nick in the sack together, while her father looked on as producer. Creepy Joe Simpson said something about Jessica being married so now she could "do it" until she was blue in the face (or something like that). DH and I were like "that is so wrong on so many levels". What is UP with that guy

It's every boys dream to watch the video from age 12-100.

I heard her being quoted as saying, "I worked with a personal trainer and tried on over 100 shorts and bikini's to get the perfect look. Um, I don't think that is what anyone is looking at. It is really bad.

My ex BIL did the same "vow" and ring with his daughter(my neice) I don't see it as being weird at all. I am not sure if there is a group of people or a certain denomination that does this or not. It is a pretty new thing and it is supposed to help with unwanted pregnancies and STDs. I see nothing wrong with people having morals these days and I thank Dads that care enough to want to talk about this with their daughters. Some churches have a program where both boys and girls take a vow not to have sex before marriage. I think I have seen this on one of the talk shows also and there is a show on Saturday mornings that I think is called Ultimate challenge where these young people have also taken this vow. While I don't really care for Joe Simpson I don't see it as weird for his daughter to stay a virgin until marriage OR for him to give his daughter a promise ring to symbolize this vow.

You can instill values without having a ring & ceremony. Just because someone has a promise ring and a ceremony at 12 doesn't mean they will remain a virgin until married, just as someone who doesn't have those things will not necessarily sleep around. That is the part I think is over the top.

The part I think is creepy is this vow she made that he would be the only man in her life until she had a husband. I find that specific wording creepy as well as the implication that her body belongs to her dad and then her husband.
The second creepy thing, as already stated, is that he apparently only did this with one daughter while the other one did who knows what with Ryan Cabrera.

The show was STUPID!

As for Mr. Simpson. What a weirdo. Im always creeped out when i see Driven: Jessica Simpson on VH1 and him talking about her.... blossoming into womanhood and what were they gonna do with her.

There is OBVIOUSLY something missing there. I mean I have my ditzy moments but come on. Jessica is STUPID. Chicken of the sea? Is it tuna or chicken? As shes EATING it. Come on.. every woman knows what tuna smells like for gods sake.

And Ashlee is just as screwed up. She cant sing, and is obviously rebeling against her older sister.

I think I heard Jessica quoted once saying "I act ditzy because I get what I want from Nick"

NTM Nick wasnt a virgin when they got married. How is that special? The womans a madonna and the mans a *****. but thats ok. Ugh.

Its just weird.
