I bought this vacuum at Walmart when it was talked about here. LOVE the vacuum...however once I washed the inner circular filter (the pleated one) the thing has never been the same. Smell wise. Horrible. I let it dry for 3 days before installing it and using it again, so it's not like it was damp or anything. Figured I would just go buy a new filter and never wash it again, just blow it out with the air compressor, but can't find the 'style 12' filters ANYWHERE. Walmart still has the vacuum in the store, but next to it is a full stock of the 9 & 10 replacement filters. They also carry every number replacement belts but the 12.. Has anyone had any luck finding the style 12 filters at their Walmart? We have another Walmart about 20 miles away that I can check if I have to, but hate to drive that far for maybe nothing. Also anyone have good luck with washing that filter and NOT having the horrible smell?

Is this the vac that sells for about $45? If so, I found both "washable" filters at Walmart, right beside the vac, on peg hooks above the shelf. I wanted a second set so if the filter was rinsed, but still not completely dry, I would still be able to use the vac. The only times we have an odor problem (cats and a dog) is if the dust cup is not emptied immediately after sweeping AND we fail to rinse both filters. The filters seem to harbor the most of the smell.

do you have any independant vacuum cleaner stores in your area? they can order them if they don't stock them. i own a vac store and most of the time my price is the same or close to wal mart and target. i have even been cheaper a time or two.

Yes, that is the vac that I bought. The filters on the peg hooks are all for "9 & 10" style, and on the front of the vac that we have, it says to 'use style 12 belts and filters'? Maybe I will call Bissell and see if the 12 is different. That's a good idea to have 2 sets! I had to let my filter dry for 3 days and that was with putting it on the heat register to be sure it was good and dry.
