Ok, so looking at schedules, Animal Kingdom will be opening at 9am. 1st Festival of the Lion King is at 9:40. If you're right up front when the park opens..which would be best:
A) Go to Kilimanjaro Safaris then make the 9:40 show
B) Go get Fastpass for Kilimanjaro Safaris (all or 1 of us) then go to 9:40 show
C) Go on Kilimanjaro Safaris, Pangani forest trail, take time and line up for 10:40 show

Is the 1st show of Lion King usually really crowded, or does it just get longer lines as the day goes on? We'll be with our DDs age 4 and 1.5, so thats the main thing we need to see at AK, and we don't want to be rushed.

The safari is the best early in the day. Do it first. The Festival of Lion King's first show is the least crowded early, but it will fill up as showtime approaches.

If you are able to take advantage of the Extra Magic Hours. That really helps being able to hit the safari before 9 to make it to the show early enough.

Does anyone know all the times for the Lion King. My DD really wants to see this but we are doing AK on our day we get on the cruise, so we will be there from opening til noon. We wanted to do breakfast and the Lion King show. Any suggestions??

I'd say get a fastpass if the return time is around 10:00, and then go see lion king, that way the rest of your family can go get seats or meet characters while your getting FP

Do the Safari first. The Lion King shows several times a day. I did the Safari first, then we did Lion King :rotfl: 11:20 show(which was awesome) then headed over to the very near Pizzafari rest. It's fast food but was actually very good. It's a good choice if you have little ones.

I would suggest option C. It is a pretty good hike between the show and the Safari, so you wouldn't have to back track as much. AK is a beautiful park, so I don't mind the walking except when it is really hot!

If you get there when the park opens you should be fine. I think they might even do a PS/ADR for you to get in an early breakfast. They will give you a fast pass to the Lion King show. You should be fine! We did this last month. :wave2:

We didn't do the breakfast... and were late (I'm the early one and was inwardly going crazy!) .. didn't get there at park opening. We put our carry ons to be held at the DCL counter (Just to the left after going past the ticket sale windows) my brother and his wife and son went for the Safari, My mom, daughter, DH and I went for the Lion King show. I was concerned about time but our group stopped for ice cream after the show and then shopped at a couple of stores before going back to the DCL desk. My brother and fam were later arriving. They had started filling buses by this time but said not to worry as they had several buses. Shortly after that my bro and family showed up and we walked out to the buses. Got on with our carry ons and were on our way! Have a wonderful cruise!

I would think your fastpass return time would be too soon. We often get a fastpass right before we ride the safari. Then, we can turn around and ride it again immediately. If the time is ok, I'd vote for fastpass then Lion King.
