Saw a thread about spending family time in the morning then having kids go to the clubs at noon so they can go to the adult beach in the afternoon.
Who's done this? or thinking about doing this?

Actually, Castaway Cay day is the ONLY day my DD does not go to the programming. She LOVES the clubs on the ship but on Castaway Cay she wants to be in the water (and who could blame her!) and the kid's programming does not take them anywhere near the water (thankfully).

So in her four DCL cruises my DD has never been to Scuttle's Cove on Castaway Cay, and that's okay with us. We get plenty of adults-only time on the ship when she is happily enjoying the kid's clubs. :)

Heck yea, we did that! Actually, after lunch the kids were looking forward to spending time with their friends at Scuttles Cove. Games, water play, pirate stories... how fun! One cruise after dropping them off we went over the Serenity Bay and once we just hung out at the far end of the beach. Fun for all!

I think noon might not be a good time to drop off as the counselors take the kids to lunch around 11 am or so, and the barbeque starts around noon for everyone else. You may want to give the kids lunch before dropping off at the club on CC.

We are hoping to spend some time with the kids at CC, but I CANNOT miss the lobster tail served at the adult beach, so they will have to spend some time in the club (or DH will have to take them... hehe). I think we may drop them there in the morning, have lunch, then pick them up for a couple hours of play before boarding.

How difficult is it to find a spot on the family beach in the afternoon? I know the snorkeling isnt as good there as it is in the morn cos everything is kicked up.

On our past cruises we have not, although DS did spend some time hanging out with a bunch of friends he met at the water jungle gym on our most recent. This time both will be teens and plan to either spend their time at the teen beach or in the teen program - wild side I think? DS especially thought the idea of team competitions building rafts and such sounded cool. So we are planning to spend time at the adult beach which we have never done before.
