Folks,

DD5, DW and I will be arriving at WDW on Tuesday afternoon. After some time unwinding by the pool at SSR, basking in the warmth that is Florida we are going to HDDR at FW. My plan was to valet park at Wilderness Lodge and take the ferry to Fort Wilderness, saving us from a long bus ride from the FW parking lot to Pioneer Hall and back again -- as well as enjoying the boat ride. What is the schedule for the ferry from WL to FW? Thanks to all for suggestions and answers.

Hi there... we stayed at WL just last week and went to Hoop Dee Doo. The show was fun as usual and the meal good too.

We actually booked a horse and carriage ride over to Hoop Dee Doo from WL, it was a wonderful ride in a one horse open sleigh.

But back to the launches... they came about every 30 minutes or so, but sometimes went WL - MK - FW - WL other times WL - FW - MK - WL so I am not 100% sure.. but definately every 30 minutes or so... even i you have to go to MK first it is a nice ride.

Have fun...

I didn't know you could take a carriage from WL to FW! I though you could only do round-trips leaving from Pioneer Hall and back again. Was it something special, limited to this time of year? Or can it be done anytime?

Hi there.. I believe the horse and carriage rides are just for the holiday season.

We arranged it specially and it was 60.00 each way. (we did it round trip and they met us after the show for the return)

It was so much fun, the horse "Rodney" was handsome and had jingle bells on him, there was a warm wool blanket for our laps and little white christmas lights on the running boards of the carriage... it took a good 25 minutes through the woods to get to Hoop Dee Doo, we sang christmas carols. :D

That's what I suspected, thank you for the quick reply. It's good-to-know information that I may be able to use someday!

There are 2 boats that will take you between WL & FW. They come & go very frequently, so you shouldn't have more than a 10-15 minute wait, at the most.

The large boat goes WL/FW/MK (any order) and stops running about 1 hour after MK closes. (I think, so pls verify.)

The small boats go WL/FW/CR (any order) and run 7 am - 10 pm. So as long as your show allows you to get to the dock before 10, you should be OK.

Great idea about valet parking at the WL then catching the boat over to the campground. The WL and Ft Wilderness has two options when it comes to the boats. The large Green Flag Boat goes from MK/WL/Ft.Wilderness in the afternoon so you may be able to catch the large boat going to the Campground. The boats run about every 20 min. and run in the evening until about an hour after the Magic Kingdom closes. Another option are the smaller Blue Flag Boats there are several smaller boats the operate from 7:00am-10:00pm between the three resorts on Bay Lake WL/CR/Ft.Wilderness. The last few times I have been to the Lodge one boat will run clockwise as the other boat runs counterclockwise so ask the Captian which resort he/she is going to next, the smaller boats arrive about every 15 min. If you are going to the late dinner remember that the WL and Ft. Wilderness also have a bus that runs between the two resort (if boat service has ended for the night) the bus ride takes about two minutes and the bus stop is just down from Pioneer Hall.

Have a great trip.

Just so you know, the internal buses that run from the FW parking lot to Pioneer hall run every 10 minutes, and take less than 5 minutes on average to get there.
