What are the advantages of booking a lock off when traveling with the teen/tween age group?

What are the disadvantages of booking a lock off when traveling with the teen/tween age group?

We may be traveling with 4 teenage boys and 2 tween girls this summer. I am going back and forth on which one would be a better idea. Thanks for your help!

We prefer not to book a lock off so the second bedroom has two proper beds and not a sofa bed.

The disadvantage is that they have their own door to the outside, they can sneak out if you are worried about that. The advantage is they have their own kitchenette - if your teens are coffee or tea drinkers, if they stock their own fridge with beverages and have some microwave popcorn in there, they can really feel like the get their own hotel room - which can be cool for them (and let them stay up until late with popcorn, coke and a DVD).

The boys will be 14 and 16 years old. I was thinking they might think it's "cool", but wanted to see what others have done.

I am not really worried about them sneaking out. We let them have freedom this past August and they did well with it. Trying to decide how best to do this.

But at BCV, you might book dedicated and still get one queen and one double sleeper sofa. There are only 25 dedicated with two queen beds.

At OKW, even the lockoff has two queen beds in the second bedroom.
