Feeling very disillusioned by Fidelity

We found a contract that we liked and contacted Fidelity 3 times by email over a few days and eventually called them. The lady was nice on the phone and we sent her an email to make an offer. We heard nothing back so I sent another email, again we heard nothing back so we called as it had been a few days. She hasn't spoken to the owners yet as they had a full inbox but they had another number for them that she could try (why hadn't she tried it yet?), she emailed with their counter offer, and almost immediately we made another counter offer. Again no reply, few days went by so I sent another email, again nothing and now I see that the listing is gone from their website. I can't help but feel if she had been more on the ball we could have had that contract, but hey - what do they care, they got the sale in the end no matter who it was from.

Just feel let down by them, on the flip side we have had great dealings with the timeshare store, but sadly they don't have any contracts that we are wanting right now :(

I didn't have that happen exactly, but something similar when working with TSS. We made an offer and the sellers countered the next day. I guess they were on vacation, so they told me it would take a while to respond. We countered back thinking we were pretty close. The next day I called TSS and they said that they hadn't heard anything back yet. But that night I saw the listing gone. I called again and they said they were still waiting to hear back (which I thought was very strange since the listing was gone). I wanted to know what was going on since I had found another contract we wanted but didn't want to buy 2 so was holding off. Finally the next morning they called me and said that someone else came in higher and that it was sold to them. AND the other contract I had seen sold right away. So I guess it can happen with any place you deal with!! But I was upset it took them pretty much a whole day to tell me it was sold to someone else even after I called them and asked specifically.

I am just finishing up with my first resale purchase from Fidelity. We did a full asking price offer, which made things a little simpler, but it still took a little longer than I thought to get from offer to acceptance.

I have tried communicating via e-mail, but I have had better luck just calling the sales representative directly using her direct toll-free number. I would advise doing that, particularly during the time that you are trying to negotiate an offer. The squeaky wheel seems to get the oil.

I have also done resales with TTS, and the good old phone worked better during the offer stage, as well.

Good luck hunting!

I would say to call her again. My sense in working with Fidelity is that they are overworked. I just had a contract accepted yesterday. It took a bit of persistence on my part, but they presented the offer and got an answer the same day. Getting to this point involved calling to check on listings as the website is out of date, calling to make the offer, calling to make sure the offer was made (I had seen another contract at the TSS and wanted her to move quickly on my offer, so I could move on if need be). THis all paid off. She got the sellers to accept my initial offer and I got a great price on a fully loaded contract. I need to get the contract now, but I plan to stay on her to move it along. She never acts like I'm bugging her, I just think she's overworked. Keep at it, they have some great contracts.

I definitely agree with calling being better, just from the UK it's difficult and rather expensive ;) though not too bad when I have Skype working. I think my problem is worrying about being too pushy, I'm sure I would have had more response had I emailed/called every day but I would then worry I was making a nuisance of myself...

Don't worry about being pushy. They know you just want to get what you're looking for.

I had several contract thru fidelity, yes slower on response for whatever reason, and also closing company they use are slower. So if you don't have patience you are out of luck. Be prepared to spend extra time if you want to deal with Fidelity. :headache::headache:

I am waiting for my contract with Fidelity to close. I was aware that they are known for being slow but what I did not expect was the unrealistic time frames that I was repeatedly given by my agent.
So if Fidelity tells you "a few days" that means 5 to 7 days. If you are told "by the end of the week" take that as by the end of next week.

The title company was also painfully slow and made repeated typos on my contract which additionally held things up.

Ugh. That is not promising. I am supposed to receive my contract by tomorrow. :(

For what it's worth - we agreed upon a deal last Thursday 5/16 and I received my contract yesterday 5/22. Fidelity told me it would be 5-7 business days.

We will see how long it takes before it goes to ROFR.

My first two purchases were through TSS and they were great! Very efficient. My current purchase is through Fidelity and everything about them is slow, including the title company. The initial offer was made 3/25 and I still haven't closed. I sent the check and paperwork to the title company on 5/9 and they told me on 5/13 the seller sent paperwork in and they should have it by 5/17. When I asked this week (5/20) whether the paperwork had been received from the seller they said it had not. They contacted the seller and told me it was just sent 5/20! So, I'm not sure what they were talking about last week but it's extremely frustrating.

At this rate I estimate another 2 to 3 weeks before I see my points in my account.

I'm sorry! That is frustrating! I'm glad we paid the few extra dollars per point and went with TSS. I'm still waiting on ROFR, but so far everything has went really fast. Within two days we made an offer, had it accepted, signed contracts and went into ROFR. (Contract was signed Saturday 5/4, went into ROFR on Monday 5/6). Hope things speed up for you!

It took them 3 weeks to draw up a contract and send over to ROFR. Their email communication was also quite sporadic.

With that said, they were lovely once you get them on the phone. Just call and hold until you speak to either Shawn or Sharon and clearly state what you want. Be the squeaky wheel and it will get greased. They had no problem with my persistence.

I think.they are just overworked. I put an offer in.a week ago and only heard back tonight from shawn. But she emailed me at 10 pm Eastern! So its not like they are sitting around doing nothing...

I completely agree with your statements about Fidelity. I am a little ahead of you as I sent my closing docs with final payment yesterday. I got a loaded contract at AKV at a great price. I felt it took a little longer, but I ended up with a 175pt loaded contract for less money than the first offer I made with another agency on a 160pt contract. Everyone including TSS seemed to think I was too low on what I was looking to pay. Deals can be had and I believe your best chance is with Fidelity.

I still haven't received my contract and my offer was accepted. I swear they took the listing off the site on maybe Monday or Tuesday, but I looked today and saw it? Weird. Maybe I'm just crazy...but I'm supposed to have the contract today.

I had a same experience. Put in an offer at fidelity and heard no response. I would have to call for updates, and everything on their website wasn't available. So I put in an offer at TSS and got a call back five min later. That one fell through but put another offer in and ten minutes later he called back and said it was accepted. Got the contract that night.

We have had the same type issues with fidelity. A few offers with them already been an offer accepted, and slow email response. I really wish they had a way of taking down ones with offers or do a sale pending like others do.

Some of the delay, such as hearing back about offers and closing, can be attributed to the seller. I've had similar experiences from both TSS and Fidelity. Though, Fidelity does tend to be "less on the ball" in terms of getting response from seller or getting them to send closing docs. At the same time they are paid by commission, so you'd think the more sales you push through, the higher your month's paycheck :scratchin
