We went to US and IOA last year and had a blast. Mostly thanks to all of you here on this board who offered suggestions, advice, virtual handholding and coupons!

This year we are thinking about seeing Disney. It's been about 3 years since we've been there and I want to get in on the child pricing before my now 8 year old/soon to be 9 year old gets more expensive.

So I'm doing research on the Disney end of here lately. I'm keeping an eye out for those US bashers though and will direct anyone thinking about going to US here.

:hippie:

We love Universal and Disney, I don't know why so many people feel like they can only like one or the other. They are both very unique in their own way and we have a blast at both.So no need to feel like a traitor , but like you said keep an eye for the bashers and tell them to open up and enjoy a little.

It is so nice to have the option of doing either or both.

Yes there is no reason why you cant love, and do, both. We love each for what they are and do not try to compare the two.

Have fun!

We love both too! I agree that there is absolutely nothing in the world wrong with loving Disney and Universal too. They are equally great in different ways!

i do both parks but my favorite is universal.

i don't bash disney, and i don't bash universal. like both for different reasons.

i love HHN which only universal has.

She's going to Disney?? Let's flog her!!!!

We do both. We like Universal more but Disney is certainly fun too.

you have to share the love!! We did Universal two years ago, Disney this past year and back to Universal this year!
I believe they have their differences....I love both parks for many different reasons!

I've had AP's for both disney and Universal. I have only Universal now. While I dont bash anyone for liking both, I cant see how someone (others on this board) can follow something so blindly....be it Universal or disney. I love Universal but will be quick to point out its flaws (like not putting a new decent attraction in IOA since its been open.)
Disney folk are quick to get all over someones case if you make the slightest comment against the mouse, in favor of someone else.

I dont know what the point of all that was....but HAVE FUN AT DISNEY!

I tell everyone to visit both doing the split thing.
Visit one park in the morning, rest in the afternoon, then visit another park at night. Disney usually stays open until 10pm year around, so you can go there for the evening.

The thing is, whatever park you are staying onsite at, will "feel" better than the one where you just drive over for a visit. What normally happens is people stay at Disney, then drive up to Universal for a day. This is fine but they don't get the entire experience and usually say Universal was just "ok."

That's why many of us suggest starting at Disney, then switching to an onsite Universal hotel at the end of the trip.

Same here! :thumbsup2

I agree...We are going to Universal for the first time this year and are doing this very thing...on-site at Disney for 5 days then the HRH for 4 days. Just don't think we would feel like a part of things if we stayed at WDW and drove over to Universal....much more fun to have the whole experience.

See, that's why I like this board. That "love everybody regardless of theme park preference" feel! No haters around here!

We like variety. It's the spice of life! How about I compare everything to Universal???

And we all could use a good flogging from time to time!

Absolutely agree! I don't get the competition thing (from BOTH sides) either. We love them both sets of parks too (as well as SW). All 7 parks are different, and we love it that way! :)
