Feeling Hot Hot Hot! The Rain Curse is Broken! Two Weeks of Fun in the Sun! COMPLETE

The show was lots of fun. There is a storyline behind it to tie everything together. There are horse tricks, falconry, jousting, sword fighting, etc.

The food was pretty good too. I ended up giving half of my chicken and spare rib to Erich which he very much appreciated.

We took lots of video and pictures. Here is one clip, didn't want to post them all, would have taken forever.

After the show the knights and the royals mingle in the lobby for photos. We found our knight who was a bit disappointing in person. Not very charismatic.

Overall we had a great time at Medieval Times. Thanks to a 50% off coupon I found through the Dis we were able to eat here for the same price as a meal at a place like Chef Mickey's, $120 for the four of us. The food was excellent and the show was entertaining. Alek and Erich loved it and it lived up to their expectations.

On the way back to the resort we stopped at Target to get a few things for the room such as milk and some fruit.

As we were getting back on property we saw a bunch of fireworks going off from what looked like Hollywood Studios. That didn't make sense, DHS doesn't have fireworks except for on holidays! We were debating it and based on the time I said the only scheduled fireworks would be Wishes. This didn't seem right to me because of where we were on property but given the time that is what it had to be. The others were sure that it was coming from DHS. A rather silly thing to argue about but we argued about it nonetheless. Well, turns out they were right. The next morning on the news they showed footage of the special celebration at DHS for the opening of the new Star Tours. They still don't let me forget how I was wrong and they were right.

Great updates, Lessa. You got some beautiful photos of the Coronado (and they are making me homesick since I won't be there when I go in 24 days and we probably won't be there in September).

Medieval Times looks loike a great time. We have one about 30 minutes from us that has been there for over 20 years and we have never gone there...and I'm not sure why. I didn't know you ate with your hands; that chicken looked yummy.

Ugghhh... sorry to hear about you having to change plans. I absolutely HATE when plans end up being forcibly changed. It's basically saying "What's the good in making plans when they are tossed out the window at the last minute?" Never fun, but at least you figured out a way to adjust :thumbsup2

Oh my gosh, so many food pictures and pictures of the beautiful CSR! Because of this TR I am probably going to be forced to stay there, seriously, it looks so nice! ::yes::

Ooooo... Medieval Times. I love those little medieval faires and shows like that. They are very entertaining and fun. I never even knew up until now that Orlando had one of those. I will definitely have to look into that. And the food looks really good, though I think I'm so utensil driven now I wouldn't be able to eat that stuff very well lol

LOL @ your little argument about which park the fireworks were coming from. Until seeing the opening ceremony on Attractions Magazine I would've agreed with you on the fact that it was at Magic Kingdom or EPCOT, but I guess there is just those chance moments, though it really would be cool if DHS got a fireworks show, something besides Fantasmic on those off nights. Maybe something to draw guests towards the Streets of America when the Osbourne Lights aren't up. Hmmm...

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

We have a Medieval Times in Toronto which we drive through a couple times a year when we visit our relatives in Ohio. For whatever reason we have also never gone to our "local" one although Alek has heard from a friend that it is not as good as the Orlando one.

 I think you could figure out how to eat without the utensils. ;)

The Toronto one is also the only one that is not in a "castle", it's in a building on the exhibition grounds that was converted for it.

Ugh, sorry about the change in schedule. That had to be so annoying.
Coronado Springs is beautiful, you got some great pictures. :)
AHH MEXICAN DONALD. That is so funny and cute.
Hahaha, love the crowns. How regal.
The 'guard' looks like he's trying not to laugh.
Pinky up hahahah.
The show looks pretty cool! I'm glad yall enjoyed it.
That's so cool that they did fireworks for the new Star Tours!

Didn't know that, another reason to not visit the Toronto location. We will probably only ever visit the Orlando location in order to keep it a special vacation treat and even then we probably won't go that often if we even go back.

Yeah, I was so annoyed by the change in schedule but in the end it all worked out. I just need to learn how to relax!

Yeah, apparently they did a whole special event for the opening. George Lucas was there and everything.

Happy New Year Lessa, Beth and Bros. Grimm! Still here, still reading and enjoying!

Hope you and the family had happy holidays!
I just caught up, 3 updates behind.

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Your TR never disapoints! :lmao:

Happy New Years! I'm glad you guys enjoyed Medieval Times. I went on Senior Trip and I wasn't impressed with the food or the show. Sounds like it has improved since then!

Yes, we had a good holiday although they love to give me grief as my work schedule always has me working Christmas so our holiday celebration is always a little "messed up". ;)

That is too bad that you had a bad experience on your senior trip. Perhaps they have improved but taste may also play a factor. Not everybody would be into a medieval type show.

Aaahhh, more beautiful resort pics, Lessa! The more I see, the more I want to stay there. Though, I have to say, the food court/dining areas seem a little confusing to me.

I'm glad to see your pics of Medieval Times. We have one near us, but we've never been, so it was nice to kind of see what it's all about.

The resort is very beautiful. The concept behind the food court seems confusing but in actually it is fairly straightforward when you are there in person. :thumbsup2

May 20th

Thanks to the itinerary change we were headed to Animal Kingdom this morning rather than Star Wars Weekends. This would be our first visit to AK this trip, can you believe it!?

We arrived at the park well before the scheduled opening time only to find that they had started letting people in twenty minutes early. I saw a photopass photographer outside the main entrance so we stopped for photos. This was a new photo spot for us as I had never seen a photographer there on past trips.

We decided to take a more leisurely tour of the park this day so instead of rushing off to the safari like usual we slowly made our way through the oasis looking at all the animals.

The family got annoyed with me as we approached the Tree of Life as I made them stop at pretty much all the photopass photographers. In my defense, you never know how the shots are going to turn out and some photographers are better than others. :thumbsup2

We stopped to admire the pretty flamingos that are near the Tree of Life.

It took me 2 days to catch up, but i'm all caught up! I'm excited to read about SWW since my first time doing that will be this year!

SWW is lots of fun if you are into the movies. There are a lot of characters out now from the cartoon, Clone Wars, which I am not familiar with but there is still lots of focus on the classic characters as well. It is also fun seeing if I will spot the "famous" Linda Leia Amidala Skywalker. ;)

WOOT AK! I'm amazed this really was the first time all trip you've been there. And that's awesome how you continued to stop at every Photopass photographer on the way in. I love the ones where they edited in baby Simba. So cute :goodvibes Love your pictures of the flamingos and the lizard guy too :thumbsup2

You could tell they were annoyed at taking all the photos because they stopped making faces and just smiled nicely. :rotfl2:

Just got back from taking some time off for the holidays. I am finally all caught up!

Sorry to hear that you had to change your plans! It's always rough when someone throws a wrench into the well designed plans!

Glad to hear you liked Medevil times. We saw the Pirates Dinner Adventure in Orlando (years ago) and it was awful! We have a Medevil Times that is local, though I have never been. But I am sure I will have to cave and take my DS one day.
