Feeling Hot Hot Hot! The Rain Curse is Broken! Two Weeks of Fun in the Sun! COMPLETE

Oooo... those lady bug lights look so cool, it looks so nice among all the natural elements in Animal Kingdom along with those colors :goodvibes And the Pangani Exploration Trail looks really fun too. That's so cool that bird had an upside down nest, talk about bat-bird and the Dung Beetle was cool too. It looks exactly like the cartoon one on the poster you find at It's Tough to be a Bug. Disney is so spot-on! And the Meerkats are always interesting to see then that mist effect is pretty epic. I may have to check that trail out next time I'm in the world :thumbsup2

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Another great update!
IME, the CM's at AK really know their stuff and are always happy to answer questions and chat. My kids once spent a long time in the Maharajah Jungle Trek's aviary spotting and identifying birds with a CM. It's that kind of stuff that can't be planned that really make the trips special and memorable.:goodvibes

Dung beetles rollin poop around. Yuk. :rotfl:
The meerkats are the cutest!
I'm a serious bird lover, great photos.

All caught up!!!I particularly like the gorilla's reaend view:rotfl2:I need to show it to Carol so she knows I am not alone in those shots:lmao::lmao:Yay for sun at AK!!!:banana:

The trails are a must do at the Animal Kingdom. Can't go to the Animal Kingdom and not see the animals!

I agree, interacting with a great CM can really add that something extra to a day or trip.

The dung beetles made me think of the poster "The Dung and I" in the Tough to be a Bug queue.

May 20th continued

Our safari fastpasses were valid by the time we finished the Pagani Forest Trail so we made our way there next. Soon enough we were loaded onto our safari vehicle and we were off!

We had a great driver who stopped for us when an animal was nearby. This was very nice of the driver as usually they just sped on through and you are lucky if you get a nice shot.

The hippos were hiding as usual

:scared1: That was your first time to the Animal Kingdom?! :scared1: Next to the Magic Kingdom DAK is my favorite park...I just love it there!

You got some great animal pictures. I really like the one of the fish and the elephant with his trunk in his mouth.

And that beetle video sort of creeped me out.

Love the pic of the elephant straight on!!

And :rotfl2: at your lion picture!

I loved that elephant, so much personality!

Well, our first time at AK that trip. ;) I love the park it just ended up working that way in the itinerary. :confused3

Time to catch up!

LOL I can just imagine being all relaxed in the lazy river and then having some rowdy boys speeding their way through. I would probably get so mad at them. :rotfl:

---------

HAHAHAHA I'm dying at that little mermaid picture. :lmao:

--------

LOL the guy with the sword at Medieval times is hilarious. He is just standing there smiling while your brothers have the craziest facial expressions ever. Oh my God. :rotfl2:

It's super weird to be reading about a non-disney meal, but it sounds interesting!

I totally would have argued about where the fireworks were coming from too! I would have never guessed the whole star wars thing but I guess that makes sense!

HAHAHA that is fantastic. What an animal. :rotfl: It looks like one of those pictures that should have a funny caption with the white text. LOL funny.

YAY all caught up! :thumbsup2

I am so behind on the Dis. I have no idea where I left off on your TR. I remember seeing your brothers hanging from the shark,so hopefully I picked up in the right spot.

The Midevil times dinner looks like a great way to spend a night. Not a bad price considering you get dinner and a show. The cute guy on the horse doesn't hurt either.

Your TL pictures are so nice. The wave pool and reef look awesome! I always have intentions of going to TL. I even buy the waterpark tickets option. We always end up going to BB first and saying that we will go to TL later in the week but we never make it back. Our next trips are planned for Dec/Feb and I think TL is usually closed those months:sad2: It looks like I'll never get there.

Good choice on picking AK instead of DHS that Friday. SWW annoyed me last year. I wish they could have some sort of schedule that you can see before hand. I based our Sci-fi adr on the parade time from the years before, but of course it was different and we missed the parade. I was so happy that no one really needed to spend much time at SWW b/c it is so hard to move around and get anything done with the crowds.

Love your elephant pictures. They seem so close to you.

The trail looks very interesting. Pretty cool that the CM recommended Busch Gardens Tampa, I would think that is forbidden. I would love to check it out but DH doesn't want to make hour drive:headache:

Okay, that's it. I am going to try to stay more up to date. It is so hard to catch up when you drop off the boards for a bit

 I apologize in advance if you are ever a victim of my brothers' relaxation disturbing madness. ;)

Yeah, it was pretty funny when they asked him for the pictures. He seemed so surprised to me approached for that and I am sure he was not expecting the crazy pictures, probably though they would just want to stand next to him and get a picture taken.

I totally would have argued about where the fireworks were coming from too! I would have never guessed the whole star wars thing but I guess that makes sense!

It was super confusing and now of course I will never be allowed to forget that I was wrong about where the fireworks were coming from.

Looks like that meerkat leads a pretty relaxing life. You are right, it does look like one of those pictures.

:lmao:

Oh, haha. WHOOPS! Glad it wasn't your first time there ever. ;)

;) I am far too controlling and planned out when it comes to WDW trips to allow that to have been our first visit to AK ever.

Welcome back! :goodvibes

The Midevil times dinner looks like a great way to spend a night. Not a bad price considering you get dinner and a show. The cute guy on the horse doesn't hurt either.

It was a nice change of pace. If we hadn't eaten there we probably would have just hung out at the hotel all night or eaten at some chain restaurant off property.

You will get there someday!

I agree, it is a bit frustrating not knowing the schedule of events ahead of time and the crowds do get pretty intense. I always plan to get to parks for rope drop but with SWW it is so important to not only get there for rope drop but to get there an hour before rope drop so you can be at the front of the crowd! You will see how my crazy earliness worked out for us once I get to writing about SWW. ;)

Love your elephant pictures. They seem so close to you.

The power of the zoom!

I was surprised too when she recommended BG b/c you would think that would be a no no but no complaints here!

Okay, that's it. I am going to try to stay more up to date. It is so hard to catch up when you drop off the boards for a bit

It really is. I have a hard enough time reading and commenting when in school and that is with checking frequently. Problem is that I don't have a lot of time when I do check so I read updates quickly and often forget to respond!

Lessa, you get some of the best shots ever! Love, love, love the little elephant at the watering hole!!

I agree that most safari drivers act like they are just driving through with no guests onboard who are actually trying to see the animals and take pics. Glad to know you had a more considerate one. I know they have to keep moving to keep the lines down, but sometimes you think they wanna see how fast they can get through there.

Looks like you had a really fun safari! :) I love the pictures you got too, especially of the elephants. Elephant Love = Adorable :goodvibes And I never noticed that not all the Kilimanjaro Safari Drivers stop when an animal gets close for pictures... maybe it's because I forget my first run on that ride :confused3 But that's awesome they did that every so often :) I'm sorry you didn't get to see the lions though, those pesky lions!

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

It was nice having a lower driver for once. too bad they can't all be like that! It only takes a few seconds to slow down of there is a good photo opportunity.
