Feeling Hot Hot Hot! The Rain Curse is Broken! Two Weeks of Fun in the Sun! COMPLETE

did you have any of hte meat or carving station at chef mickey? they are usually pretty good.

Great Update !!Soooo it was Chef Mickeys !!!!!!I've eraten dinner twice at CM!!I agree it's okay !! My favorite buffet is still CP!!for dinner , for breakfast it is Boma !!!

We have only had Crystal Palace for breakfast and we loved it. :thumbsup2

Nice review of Chef Mickey's for dinner. I'm trying to decide whether to add an ADR to Chef Mickey's for our next trip. Count this as one on the + side.

I say if you haven't eaten there before you should try it out. :thumbsup2

I've been on vacation but I am caught back up!
I'm excited to see the new interactive que for HM! Looks neat!
I know how you feel about the rash. Everytime I go to Disney I end up with a rash on the inside of my ankles-its the weirdest thing and only happens there. :confused3

Another one for the Disney rash club! I have heard about people getting a rash on their ankles and lower leg while at Disney. It has something to do with the heat and the sun reflecting off the concrete. :confused3

Looks like you had a nice time at Chef Mickey's! :thumbsup2 I do agree with the fact that walking inside of the Contemporary it doesn't look amazing, bland as you said, but I must say, I would definitely stay there, since itis very pretty. (: The food at Chef Mickey's looks quite good, especially the Mac n Cheese :goodvibes The dessert looked very good too. Awesome character pictures! :D Sorry you got a rash on this trip, that doesn't sound like fun, but you still got through it :) Can't wait to read about rope drop the next day! :mickeyjum

Hmmm, I dunno, the Contemporary is so expensive, I would rather take that money and stay at the Poly or the Grand Floridian where it is not so bland and boring. ;)

I have never eaten at Chef Mickeys....well, I should say, I have never eaten at this Chef Mickeys. About 18 years ago (?) we ate at one down at what is now Downtown Disney (I think it was the Disney Marketplace then) on the Empress Lilly (now Fulton's). I don't remember seeing Chef Micky, but I do remember Chef Goofy showed up and one of the boys knocked over a cup of chocolate milk all over the white table cloth at about that time. :sad2:

 I am sure Disney is very used to accidents like that.

Glad you liked Chef Mickey's. I haven't been in about 10 years but I liked it too. I agree with you about expectations accounting for some of the bad reviews.

Yep, we went in there with the only expectation that our food be warm and fresh and that the characters would be there. ;)

Wooohooo I've finally read everything, it took me a while but I did it :rotfl:

Sounds like you've had a fantastic trip so far and those refurbed rooms at CSR are lovely aren't they :)

Say hi to your Mom for me and tell her she still doesn't look old enough to have you guys :goodvibes

The only other thing I can remember is that on the Splash photo the guy infront of you looked like he was green :rotfl:

The rooms at CSR are fantastic, I was so happy with our resort choice.

Say hi to your Mom for me and tell her she still doesn't look old enough to have you guys :goodvibes

 I'm sure she will never get tired of hearing that.

all caught up again. You had a very successful day at the MK. Your report of Chef Mickey's is making me super hungry. Mickey ravioli sounds SO good right now!

I could go for some Parmesan mashed potatoes myself! I'm at work until midnight and I am starving with nothing but carrots to munch on.

Hey, playing checkers at that table on Main Street is fun! We spent some very pleasant time sitting at that table playing checkers one trip. Of course, we did bring a piece of Confectionery fudge to keep us company...:rolleyes1

I like your new Minnie Ears. It's kind of sad that the old ones broke, but it's also fun to pick out new ones.

I bet the rash wasn't any more noticeable in person any more than it is in the pictures. I'm sure it was a minor irritation, though.

I love how all the pasta is shaped like Mickeys at Chef Mickey's. I've never been, but I'd love to take my boys some day.

Your photos are always so fun to look at!

The rash sounds awful...my sis in lsw breaks out just frombeing in the sun for any amount of time.

Love all the character pics! I agree with you on CM's.... you have to hit that place at the first seating when everything is nice and fresh. :thumbsup2

Wow, you do have super sensitive skin, Lessa. Bummer about your rash, but at least you figured out what the issue was and it didn't get worse.:)

CM looks like a good time, but I've never been tempted to try it.

I was getting the same bumpy, itchy rash whenever we went down to Seaworld, San Diego. It was my panama jack sunscreen. That's the brand they sell in the gift shops, so I always bought it there.

I'm going to try out Coppertone Sensitive Skin in about 3 weeks when we head to Disneyland. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

It was sad that the old ones broke especially as the new ear felt like a slightly tighter fit.

That would be awful! My skin never used to be this sensitive. :confused3

Yeah, it is crazy how sensitive it is. I just wish I could have a vacation where I didn't have a reaction or illness of some kind. :rotfl:

Hope the new sunscreen works out for you! I guess I need to test out different screens and lotions to find one that works on my face and the rest of my body without causing a reaction.

Lessa, great update. Glad you enjoyed Chef Mickey's (we've not been for dinner since 2004, we prefer breakfast). The faces on your brothers gets me every time. :lmao: Is there one serious picture from the whole trip with those two? ;)

 There are a few, not many though!

May 14th

I can't believe I am on Day 4 already! I am writing this report really quickly, usually I am much slower!

I am happy to report that I actually slept somewhat decently that night, one of the few nights on the trip where that occurred.

Mom woke up much earlier than the rest of us so she went out to walk around the resort.

We didn't need the wake-up call to make us get up that morning, Mom accomplished that when she turned on the tv. I do not know why but the volume on the channel the tv automatically plays when it gets turned on is 500x louder than the volume on all the other channels. So loud and startling! As we got ready for the day and ate our breakfast we got to hear all about Arnold and his affair with the help and their lovechild. It seems that was the only thing on the news the first part of our vacation.

As I was getting the bag packed for the day I realized that I forgot to charge the battery for my camera overnight. :headache: That is the one bad thing about my new camera, it has a lithium battery vs. our other cameras which take AA batteries. With the other cameras if you forget to charge the batteries overnight you can just buy some AA batteries and pop them in. Not so easy to do with a lithium battery. Oh well, we had two other cameras with us so when my battery died I knew I could just use one of the others.

We left the room at 8:20 and drove over to Epcot, we were parked and walking to the park by 8:30.

When we got to Epcot we got in line to enter the park while Mom went and got a replacement ticket. The one she had before was plastic and I had managed to bend it somehow and it would no longer scan properly. Of course Alek and Erich gave me grief over ruining Mom's ticket pretty much all morning.

Here is her new ticket

We didn't have to wait long for them to start letting people into the park.

This was the last weekend of the Flower and Garden Festival and it was also Pixar Weekend!

IMG_1097.jpg

We weren't headed to check out either of those things that morning though, we were joining the crowd at the rope so that we could make our way over to Soarin.

Alek and Erich decided to document our journey to Soarin on video. You get to hear what it is like to tour the park with Alek and Erich, you also get to stare at the back of my head a lot, bonus! (I am in the white dress with the red bag)

This is a sequel to their video of the Soarin parade video from 2008.

I think we had to wait about 10-15 minutes to get on the ride. Unfortunately we got placed in the back row so we got to see the dangling feet. Oh well, can't have the best seats every time!
