I was doing a survey on a ship today and, when I came off board, I slipped on the metal steps and fell flat on my face in a big, muddy puddle
Luckily, there was no one around and, even more luckily, I've only got cuts and bruises but I did rip my favourite shirt and I have got big muddy patches on my suit, which will now have to go for dry cleaning. DH is trying to be sympathetic but, I think, is relieved deep down that I didn't break anything and we don't have to cancel the holiday.
I just feel like a complete and utter fool - my DS (almost 3) took one look at me all muddy when I got home and said 'Mummy, you a very naughty boy, you been splashing in the mud'
