DH are really needed.

I know there are so many in need these days, that I really hate to ask (especially since it seems like all I do on these boards is post about DH's unemployment situation).

DH and I have been married 6 years this coming September. He has been out of work for 14 LONG months. And he is really starting to crack. I have NEVER seen him so depressed (Heck, I've never really seen him depressed much at all -- he's your jovial, round Santa Claus type guy). He is so down, forelorn and lost. My heart is really breaking.

We've both been trying to get him work. But there are something like 150,000 IT guys out of work (and it seems like most of them are here in the NJ/NY area). He's trying to do something outside of his field (Customer Service, even retail sales), but so far nothing has happened. And every day that goes by he feels more and more like a loser. (Which he's not! He's a wonderful, smart man).

Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. He really needs it.

Thank you...you Dis-ers are wonderful people.

I will certainly pray. It's very hard to feel worth something when you can't get a job. I will pray that he will feel his worth regardless of his job situation. I will also pray that a job comes available soon.

Keeping you and your DH in my thoughts and prayers!

{{{hugs}}}

Here's hoping he finds something soon.

I know how it is to have an unemployed husband. It's not easy. Hang in there!

{{{Hugs}}} I'll be praying for both of you. DH is an IT person too, and I know what you're going through. We've been blessed in that he's never been out of work more than a few months, but each time it's been because something fell in his lap out of the blue. We have friends who have also gone without work for long periods of time, and it is rough.

It makes me so mad about this IT stuff. It's just like manufacturing jobs. The IT work is being exported to India. :mad: Anyway, I shouldn't dump on you, but my DH is in IT also and very worried this morning. :(

{{hugs}} to your DH and yourself. My DH lost his job almost exactly a year ago. In order to keep ourself out of debt, he did manage to take an extremely low paying job in the IT field 2 months after he was laid off. Granted it was still in the field but it was a job that you weren't even required to graduate high school to get. I saw what this did to him over the months. I too had never seen my DH so down and depressed looking. It was so sad because there was nothing I could do! He finally got a break about 2 months ago when he went through a consulting firm. He is now at a good job with decent pay... but I know it took a toll on his feeling of self worth and on my sanity as well. I pray that he will find work soon and most importantly his feeling of self-worth goes up for both of your sakes. More {{{hugs}}} to you both!

My best for you guys, Liz. Prayers and good wishes coming for you both, and for your other concern also.

{{{{HUGS}}}} to you and DH. So sorry you two are going through such stressful times.

I understand what you are going through. DH was very depressed and out of work for a year after he had to close his music store (that was some time ago), and I know it is not easy for either one of you.

Prayers that he will find something soon.

Prayers and pixie dust to both of you. I hope he finds work soon.

I really appreciate your good thoughts. It's just so hard and heartbreaking for me. It's as if Santa lost his ho-ho-ho. :(

Don't you for one second think about feeling bad for asking!!!!! It's us DISers that spread the wonderful PD and say the wonderful prayers and extend the wonderful thoughts that help to make things happen!!!! So you got 'em!!!!!! ANYTIME!!!!

Now go give Mr. Santa Claus Type a nice big huge hug from all of us!!!!!!!!

I know how you are feeling my DH is also in the IT field lost his job May/01 didn't get a job till May of this year...he worked for the local cable company as tech support and at the grocery store for a long time till this job came up. We had looked out of state many of times and nothing ever seemed to come up. It was very hard for him to deal with since he was the major bread winner and I had to increase my hours at work. He works for a great company now not as much as he was making before but I think job security is big for them. If you would like the website you can email me and I'll tell you what it is...they have offices all over the US. Let me know:) and keep your chin up...it's hard but it all works out the way it's supposed too:)

(((Hugs)))
and prayers for job hunting success!!

I sure hope your dh finds a job that he wants very soon. {{{HUGS}}} sweetie

Your husband is not a loser! There is nothing more stressful or disheartening than looking for a job! I know when I was looking for a job out of college everybody seemed to have an excuse for not hiring me! Then, I received different offers within days of each other! Hang in there! {{HUGS}}

{{{HUGS}}}. I know too well what your going through.
