Currently booked at NBC Sports Grill & the Palm. Trying to decide between Island Dining and the Kitchen for a nice breakfast.
Am I on the right track?

Just me personally....I'd book something other than NBC, I think it's bottom 3 restaurant at City Walk. Gotten sick their twice, never going again

The kitchen is decent for breakfast, but expensive for what you get

NBC Sports Grill is great for beer and appetizers - but I would not get a meal there.

I have heard nothing but good things about the Palm - I plan to check it out on my next trip - they have "prime time" Sunday to Friday - 4:3- to 6 - basically their happy hour.

I've had very good breakfasts at Island Dining over the years - never had a bad experience.
Have not tried the kitchen for breakfast, but I have heard good things about the breakfast.
I'd pick the one closet to your hotel - just for the convenience.

I used to love NBC Grill years ago but the quality has gone downhill each visit such that I am reluctant to try again after a disappointing last visit.

I was excited to see NBC because we are going to be there on a Sunday night and we were looking for a place that we could hang out and watch Sunday night football, and have some food & drinks. Disappointed that the food is not good. We would be okay with just doing apps and drinks, but still want it to be good. Are you aware of any other locations where we could watch the game?
Looking forward to the Palm. Probably will go to Island Dining, as it will be in our hotel, and are already going to HR for the Palm. I just wanted to see if one was clearly better than the other. I appreciate the feedback. If anyone has suggestions for Sunday night, let me know. Thanks!!

I would just do islands for breakfast. They all have a buffet that you can get. NBC is fine for beer and appetizers to watch the game. You could also try Jake’s American Bar and Grill at RPR but NBC is going to have more tvs.

There is also a sushi restaurant in RPR lobby that is open for dinner.

Yes Royal Pacific. No car, so looking to stay in Universal.

There is a bar in RP too that has tvs
. .. I don't remember times of operations however.

Also the rooftop bar at Aventura has tvs that should be playing it

NBC Grill has lots of TVs so its really your best option - especially if there are multiple games on at the same time.
They do have a lot of really good appetizers and I am always happy with it.
They have the best beer selection in Universal and the prices are reasonable for Universal.

Strong Water at Sapphire Falls has many tvs playing sports and they have excellent food and drinks. No big meals on the menu but more along the lines of tapas. We sometimes graze on a variety of selections and occasionally end the night with a delicious dessert to share, including a huge slice of their tres leche cake. So ‘just doing apps and drinks’ would be perfect there. Right outside of SW is the hotel’s large lobby area. Part of that area has large screen tvs with couches, etc. We’ve taken our drinks from Strong Water over there if SW is crazy busy and full but usually there are seats available at the bar (which we prefer).

Jake’s at RPR is also a great choice for good food, drink, and sports watching.

I ended up canceling NBC and changed it to Strong Water. SW looks like a great place. I feel much better about that choice.
Thanks so much for all of the feedback.

Thanks for asking. We used to enjoy its predecessor and wondered about this one.

Just about everyone recommends Strong Water now. We must try it too.

Strong Water is honestly the best place on property for food, drinks and service, you won`t be disappointed!!

I had a comically awful experience at Strong Water Tavern on my last trip, but it was a one off, and I will probably go again later this year to ensure that it was a fluke. It was the weirdest and worst service I've had anywhere this year (across all my dining experiences globally). I think the waitress was brand new, having an off night, or both.

We are back. We did go to Strong Water. Really glad we did. They offer a wide variety of options that you don't see everywhere. Food & drinks were both really good. Service was great. We also ate at the Palm at HR. Food & service really good there too.
Our whole group had burgers at Big Fire. We all liked them. The fries were just okay. They were seasoned with something. Couldn't put my finger on it, but it kept me from eating them all, which is probably a good thing :) Stayed at RPR and ate a few meals there at Jakes, Island Dining and at Bula. All good, not great, but solid. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there if I wasn't staying there, but it was good. Thanks for the feedback before I went :) We had some good meals!!

Disappointed that the food is not good
TBH It’s pretty much on par for Citiwalk, we are rather limited as the mr won’t do Mexican and I’m picky re Italian food. Only once a real issue re food quality for us @ NBC. Think the hotels have far better offerings though.

After two less than stellar meals as to service, took our business to other area steakhouses. Food very good. They seem quite understaffed when they have a full house and the venue is hosting multiple “celebrations” for locals i.e. Friday & Saturdays. Haven’t tried for over a year, would check recent reviews before booking.
