I have been to Disney before, but this is the first time on the dining plan (since we were able to take advantage of the free dining promo)...So I can't make up my mind on dining reservations since we don't normally go to these places...any feedback, suggestions is appreciated...(we come in November and it is me, dh, ds (10), and dd (7), my ds is a picky eater - so I tried to pick some "fun places")

Driving from PA overnight (expecting to be there around noon/1 PM if all goes well)

Arrival Day - Have HDDR for 4 PM (crossing finger to get a 6:15 show instead, but I think this should be doable)
2nd day - AK and evening in Epcot - QS for lunch in AK (Yak & Yeti), currently have San Angel Inn for dinner (not sure - mixed reviews and not sure my kids will like the food)
3rd day - Magic Kingdom - Have a 1PM Chef Mickey's Brunch, thinking QS for dinner in MK
4th Day - HS - QS Lunch and 50s for dinner
5th day - we are doing sea world, but thinking of doing dinner at DTD or have a reservation at Whispering canyon
6th Day - Epcot - QS Lunch in the world, Teppan Edo dinner (keeping this one since I think the kids will enjoy it)
7th Day - MK - BOG Lunch and Ohana's Dinner
8th Day - we leave and go to the Space Center and start our journey home...considering 1900 Park fare for breakfast, but thinking it may take too long...

Anyway - any thoughts/suggestions? Any must dos I don't have on my list??

Driving over night from PA with 4pm ADR is tough.

Will you be stopping to sleep at all?

I think it all looks good, except with my DDs I always add a princess meal. My kids love meeting the characters and I don't like the lines.
Meals is where we do it!

2nd day - wife and I liked San Angel Inn (wasn't great but good food but not bad and good atmosphere) but if you have a picky eater I might skip - our kids probably wouldn't like it. I was going to recommend Teppan Edo but see you already have it. How about Garden Grill or Akershus instead (if you are interested in character meals). Those both get good reviews. Everything else looks ok to me. If DTD for dinner we enjoyed House of Blues and are trying Raglan Road this trip, which gets good reviews.

For your arrival day, I would actually suggest booking the 8:30 show, then trying to get the 6:15 show. 4:00 is doable, however, if you run into traffic, or in the case of driving at night, construction and/or detours, you put yourself at a big time disadvantage and raise your stress. If you get to the resort early, you can always grab a snack and go swimming.

Second day, I would go with GeorgiaHoo's suggestion and pick Akershus for the princess experience with your daughter. You should at least do one princess dinner while your daughter is still young.

I would suggest garden grill at Epcot and t rex at downtown Disney and for some extra bit of fun go try beaches and cream at the beach club resort order the kitchen sink youi can see it being prepared on you tube just put in the making of the kitchen sink, it is sooo good!

We will be leaving around 4 PM (afer school) and stopping for dinner, and driving straight through, stopping for breakfast - no stopping for sleep. We will take turns sleeping/driving. For us the 8:30 show would be way too late for dinner, which is why I was hoping for the 6:15...I will have to think about that one. Thanks!

Thanks - I have thought about Garden Grill, but again not sure if my son would like it looking at the menu... My daughter has no interests in a princess meal - if it was star wars or something like that she might be, but that is why I didn't consider Akerhus. I was thinking about Raglan Road too...thanks!

Thanks - I thought about TRex too - we have eaten at a Rain Forest before and liked the theme... I have thought about Beaches and cream, still not sure about that one - that is alot of ice cream!!:)

It looks good! I agree about maybe changing your 4pm ADR the first night. San Angel Inn has a nice atmosphere. If your kids aren't into the food there is always Via Napoli for some pizza. My kids really like Biergarten. It is a lot of fun, but again, if your kids are picky they may not go for that either.

Hi! We are from PA also - I grew up in Pittsburgh but I live in Erie now.

Arrival Day - Have HDDR for 4 PM (crossing finger to get a 6:15 show instead, but I think this should be doable) This sounds like a lot of fun, but I know after a long drive I like to just take it easy. If anything happens, you could miss out on your HDDR and I'd hate to see that. Are you sure you think you'll make it? What about just doing a fun quick service at one of the resorts, or a DTD sit down later in the evening? Just a suggestion - knowing you will want to get settled in the room and everything once arriving, plus your room may not be ready when you get there in case everyone wants to shower/change/relax.
2nd day - AK and evening in Epcot - QS for lunch in AK (Yak & Yeti), currently have San Angel Inn for dinner (not sure - mixed reviews and not sure my kids will like the food) I've never been to San Angel Inn, but we do like Yak and Yeti. :)
3rd day - Magic Kingdom - Have a 1PM Chef Mickey's Brunch, thinking QS for dinner in MK I think that sounds awesome - it's always nice to leave the park for a few hours in the afternoon to relax.
4th Day - HS - QS Lunch and 50s for dinner Love 50's Prime Time! The sampler of meatloaf, pot roast, and fried chicken is awesome.
5th day - we are doing sea world, but thinking of doing dinner at DTD or have a reservation at Whispering canyon We did Whispering Canyon for breakfast on our last trip and we really liked it.
6th Day - Epcot - QS Lunch in the world, Teppan Edo dinner (keeping this one since I think the kids will enjoy it) I think the kids will love it.. We really enjoyed Les Halles (French bakery) for QS, they have a ton of great pastries you can use a snack credit on, or sandwiches which I think are a QS credit.
7th Day - MK - BOG Lunch and Ohana's Dinner Love, love, love both of those. We did BOG lunch and Ohana dinner on the same day last trip and it just happens that we are doing the same this trip. My fiance loved the Croque Monsieur at BOG lunch.. I had the prime beef sandwich and it was also good but the croque monsieur won.. Ohana is our favorite meal in WDW.. so make sure to save some tummy space!!
8th Day - we leave and go to the Space Center and start our journey home...considering 1900 Park fare for breakfast, but thinking it may take too long... I think a character breakfast is the perfect way to end. :)

Another option would be Via Napoli as someone already mentioned. Pizza/pasta is usually fairly safe. You could also go to Cape May if anyone likes seafood (we didn't really care for it but seem to be in the minority)

I really would reconsider that HDDR ADR you have. 4 might be doable but you will be committing a lot to one meal on s day that you traveled all night the night before. I think I would either plan CS in case the family is tired, or book TS close to your resort.

I was thinking the same thing. We do a similar drive and I couldn't imagine topping it off with all you can drink sangria evening...LOL

Lol! That too! I just thought the time was awkward after having been up all night. My family would need a good nap if they had that drive, or early to bed. No way would I try a dinner show.

We did the SOA in thanksgiving one year, but we arrived early in the morning, had slept the night before, and relaxed all afternoon. We were tired even then.

On the day you go to seaworld I wouldn't book and ADR. You don't know how long you will be in the park and don't want to rush to make it to and ADR. Wolfgang Puck Express has great food and is a counter service with a table service feel.

Looks good to me. The only comment I have is that 1900PF isn't getting the greatest reviews lately. If you think it's going to be too time consuming when you're trying to get on the road, I'd probably settle for a QS at the resort. :earsboy:
