I do a salsa type thing with zucchinni and tomato's and onions i know u gotta leave them out.

Dice the 3 tomato's 1 zucchini 1 onion 1 jalepeno and 1 tsp garlic and 1 tbsp of basil and 3tbsp of olive oil mix let sit in fridge for about an hour or longer and use as a dip.

dh and I would love that. so would dd 15 however if she isin school she will not eat any thing that would make her breath stink:rotfl: .. my kids love onion bagels though:confused: , but they will pick through salsa for onions and peppers:sad2: . dh eats everything with onions and peppers the kids are not down with that. my dh always says his mom is a bad cook because his step dad hates onions, garlic and peppers. But, I don't really consider that a part of the food budget persay, since we're doing it for a fun activity.

At least dinner is healthy. :)

we're running low on fruit to snack on. I think we're down to 1/2 a bag of baby carrots and one mango. Tomorrow is grocery day.

No dog food cost more then feeding kids.:rotfl:

We took care of my in-laws' dogs while they were gone on vacation. their dogs eat raw food. lots of raw meat and raw veggies, all perfectly balanced...

my DH said he looked at it one day, and said "These dogs eat SOOO much better than me!"

Kinda makes you think, huh?

Ok, I am officially grossed out by the hot dog, cheese puff and diet pepsi talk...but dying laughing!:rotfl:

well, he was kidding.

First off, he doesn't eat meat. He gets more than enough fruits and veggies, and plenty of protein. He's quite a healthy man.

It was just watching them scarf down this perfectly planned out meal.. it twas meant to be funny.

Their raw dog food costs a fortune. So, it was also a joke about the amount spent on the food. At least I thought it was funny.

Just curious, why are they on a raw food diet (the dogs)?

Well, I can't state all of the specifics...

But, it started because one of the dogs has very bad allergies, and regular dog food seemed to be causing a lot of problems. Switching to raw alleviated most of the allergies.

My sister had a dog like that - he was allergic to most of the fillers used in commercial dog food. She had to cook his dinner everynight. The Vet would give her recipes.

I guess I buy a bag of dog food about ever 2 weeks - for about $20.

But when I had cats, they would each get their own can of food at every meal and the cans cost more than most of the Tuna I see listed here. It wasn't the highest quality cat food either.

Our rotty eats raw veggies and fruits but not meat but will eat the bones of beef it is better for there digestive system on some dogs. Rotty's have horrible digestive systems he eats what ever veggies i grow except peppers (that's just nasty what he can do with them) but he also gets dog food but it's just filler.
I'm slowly going back to raw fooding for me i find it much healthier.
