Fed Ex to BoardWalk

I searched back and couldn't find anything too specific.

What I know: I know that we can ship to resorts and I know that some shipments to BW go to the Convention Center for storage and pickup. I know that packages shoudn't be sent down too early. I have shipped by US Mail before to BWV and BCV and OKW.

What we are shipping: The guys are shipping their golf clubs Fed Ex. For $6 round trip each, we can't pass that up and it will be so much easier. Last trip - we had a bump in Charlotte and both golf bags were lost cuz they arrived earlier than we did and floated on the carosels. DH's was taken by mistake by someone at MCO and lost for 2 days. And BF's DH had his brand-new, never-used STOLEN at MCO and had to be reimbursed by USAIR.

My Questions:

Anyone know if Fed Ex goes to the Convention Ctr as opposed to being stored in the resort? - and do you know the hours at the Conv Ctr?

Anyone know if there is a size limit on the boxes?

Anything else I should know about shipping a box via Fed Ex or to the BW that I don't know already? Hints, experiences etc?

I would suggest calling BWV and ask for the front desk manager. They could give you direct answers to your questions. It would also be a good idea to let them know in advance that the boxes are coming.

Unfortunately - you often get a different response depending on the CM you talk to there. I was told by two different CMs at the check-in that US Mail is delivered to the convention Center and by the CM at the CC that US Mail is delivered to the hotel. Turns out the CC CM was right.

Anyway - I'm looking for anyone here with any experience with a BW Fed Ex shipment.

Boxes and such are shipped to the business center and can be sent back home from there. It is the entrance to the right of the main entrance.

When you check in, call the front desk and they will have someone retrieve your packages from storage and bring them to your room.

Interesting news there, as last time I was told the only way to retrieve a package from the center was to go there yourself when they are open!

Doesn't Fed-Ex allow you to prepay the return as well?

Why not call the pro shop of the golf courses, and see if you could ship directly there.... and return directly from there.

It would seem easier than to the hotel, and then lugging to the course.

But I don't play golf, so maybe there is a reason I am missing here.....

Anyway, an idea.

Would love to know how this turns out.

I'm inviting best friend next year, and she and hubby both golf.

Hmmm, there's an idea Goldi. Not sure if Disney would do that, but one can always ask. We just have to be sure about the bag security on site.

We have a friend who works for Fed Ex and he's shipping them with on his discount. So we get $6 for a round trip.

I'm going to send you a PM later, for this and because my sister lives in Naperville too.

A word of warning !!!!!

All mail / deliveries go directly to a central mail center where they are received and sent to the specific location. No deliveries go directly to a resort, DW forgot her medication so we had it sent FEDEX overnight by our neighbor. Unfortunately the next day was a Holiday and weekend so we did not received the package until we arrived home some time after our trip.
I believe everything may have been fine if delivery was during the week but it didn't work out for us. The mail center was closed for the Holiday and not open on weekends.

Very interesting pat-rick

Since WDW tells you to address the package to a specific resort with a street address, I find it interesting that it goes to a central point anyway. I think I will have our friend inquire with Fed Ex to see what they say.

Since we are arriving on a Wed and not around a holiday, I don't expect your problem would affect us - but it's very good to know! Sorry it was a problem for you though!
