Hello all! Just keeping watch with the rest of you. This is my first time planning for an onsite stay at Disney. I had first picked the dates Jan 20-27 but hubby is too busy at work then to go. So am looking now at Beginning of Feb. How are the crowd levels and the weather then? I am most concerned about the crowds. Would love to find a great code or discount.

I am thinking of joining AAA. Could anyone tell me if there is a significant difference in price with their discount? Is it worth the membership fee to join? And how does that affect if a code comes out? We would also like the dining plan this time.

Thanks so much everyone in advance for all your help. Just reading these boards has been a tremendous help already. I am still pretty green at all of this.

One of my best friends, who is a general contractor, told me last night that they've moved the National Homebuilders Convention to February (typically in January). That is a HUGE convention that brings many builders, subs, suppliers, etc., and their familes to Disney. May be another reason that resorts are filling up earlier for this time period

NAHB’s Annual Convention and Exposition, known as the International Builders’ Show, is one of the largest building projects showcases in the country, attracting more than 100,000 attendees each year. The 2007 show will be held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL, Feb. 7-10.

The crowds should not be heavy during most of that time. Presidents Day in on the 20th so you might see the crowds grow on the 17th and 18th.

We're going on DCL in February and are thinking of spending some time at WDW before we cruise. I checked the Disney web site and Expedia, and both show absolutely no availability for the resorts Feb. 21-24. Is it possible that there really are no rooms at the inn???

I'll probably end up working with a TA, but I always try to do some research on my own first. I've never run into this kind of thing with Disney before. Am I just a WDW idiot? Be honest, I can take it.
