We are staying at Bay Lake february 18-23, can't take the grandchildren out of school so we are locked into vacation week. How crowded is it during this time and what about the weather, warm enought to use the pool?
Thanks in advance

I'll be there the same week. 02/17-02/22 AKL

We have gone that week two other times, the weather was not warm enough for the pool.
But I hear it varies and this year it might be.

It's pretty crowded, but if you get there early and use fastpasses correctly you should have no problems.

We've not gone in that timeframe exactly but a week later. And when we went it was surprisingly warm (80 degrees plus). But it wasn't a consistent hot. So if you want to swim, you may have to plan it as the temps may not be as consistent as you like.

Crowds are manageable for sure. Busy but not unbearable. You're right in the spot where the Spring Breaks haven't begun in earnest. It just requires a bit more planning is all. Be there a bit earlier, take some breaks midday, use your FastPasses appropriately, etc.

Being at BLT, you are also only about a 10 minute (or less) walk to the MK. And of course you have the monorail right there, too. So getting over to EPCOT is a breeze.

We alternate doing Disney during Feb. or April vacation. Our Feb. vacation is always President's Day week. It IS busy that week, but from what I've heard, it's not Christmas-New Year's or Easter week busy. The worst is President's Day weekend, especially that Monday which would be your first day. I'd avoid Magic Kingdom that day, but it should be doable the rest of the week.

Temps in Feb. can vary...we've been there when it was in the 40's one year, and 80's another year. Have everyone bring suits. Being from MA, even in the colder Februaries we tend to still make it into the pools as it's warmer in Florida...we just don't stay in as long.

We went the same week two years ago and it was warm enough to swim.
The weather this time of year is definitely hit or miss.
It can be 80 one day and 40 the next !

We have gone that week a few times. Most trips we were able to wear shorts and swim, just needed sweatshirts at night. One year we needed coats, hat, and gloves. Anything can happen in February.

We have gone in Feb. several times. The weather varies alot - sometimes we are able to swim and sometimes we are wearing our gloves and hats!! I would just pack it all and see what you get b/c it can swing day to day!!

You may luck out somewhat with the crowds. Our school district (and many others on Long Island) cancelled February break due to the number of days that were used for Sandy. I am not sure what NJ did to make up the days. February break was usually "untouchable" as far as cancelling but this was extenuating circumstances.

We were down a couple of years ago mid Feb. and I thought is was a bit chilly - not pool weather.

Have fun!

I think "pool weather" depends on where you're from. Going down from NH, Florida has always had pool weather for us. The pools are heated to about 82 I believe, so they are fine; it's the air temp that can be chilly. It's funny to see the lifeguards all bundled up. An advantage is that the pools aren't crowded!

Bring your suits just in case it's warm enough for you to jump in.

Agree w/ Donna M. I live here about 90 miles west of WDW and it's FAR too cold for us to swim but the pools are heated and I've seen many northern folks who thought it was warm when I was wearing a coat. LOL

Mid to late Feb should see temps in the mid 70's in the day with night time around the 50-ish mark. The air from the pool back to the room would be very chilly but you should be ok to swim. Check the local Orlando weather (not national) about a week before you go. Right now it's very cold here (for us anyway. tonight's low is going to be around 40)
