February or March?

Which time is better to go to Disneyland? We consider ourselves Disney World experts, but are clueless when it comes to Disneyland. We went for the first time last year on a very last minute trip at the end of April. We were able to see the peak vs. non-peak days with the schedule that Disney posted for the parks. Now we are trying to plan a trip a bit in advance and aren't sure if the end of February or the beginning to middle of March is better. When does spring break season usually start? Which timeframe is your preference, and why?

Thanks!

I would choose the end of Feb. Spring breaks start in early to mid March.

My grandma told me that when she went there in January, a cast member told her Jan & Feb are the best months to go. you can assume that any given week in march is spring break, so I would definitely plan for February. ;)

That sounds great, thanks! I guess we have to wait until closer to travel time to see what rehabs will be happening.

We were at DLR from the 1st to the 10th of March 2008, and on the week days the crowds were non existant. However on the weekends it got packed, cheerleading what nots usually happen in early March, and they pack the crowds out a bit.

Rivers of America will be drained in mid-January through early May, and all related attractions - Mark Twain, Colombia, Explorer Canoe's, Fantasmic! and Tom Sawyer Island - will be closed.

There is otherwise rarely anything on rehab starting mid-February through mid-April.

Just make sure to avoid President's Day weekend in February (the 13-15). That's really the only busy time during that month :thumbsup2

I have been to DL in March during various years. I've found that the earlier in March, the better. For instance, on one of our trips in 2003, we were there around March 4th - 9th and crowds were non-existant. This year, we went on March 20th - 25th and we definitely hit the Spring Break crowds. It was ALOT busier than I thought it would be.

I do remember on those other March trips that the water rides were all down (everything on the Rivers of America and even Splash Mtn). Splash was running this year when we went.

I would say that late Feb - early March is a great time to go. You could run into some rain but if that's the case, you can enjoy a wet but empty park! :goodvibes
