February Losers!

I blew my diet a little this weekend by indulging a little at our homecoming festival but I am getting back on track this week.

I have been doing good though. I cut out almost all pop (still like my occasional pepsi though). I have switched to whole wheat breads and pastas.

We are going out of town this weekend so hopefully I can do well and keep on track.

I'm joining the thread too please! I found my way over from the official February 2011 thread (January 25 to February 8, offsite at Windsor Palms)

I'm Joy (yup, my real name in my screen handle!) and my husband and I started a serious weight-loss-change-of-lifestyle regimen at the beginning of June this year - we started going to the gym every morning at 6:30 a.m. before work ( but it was the only time of day that work, kids activities, etc didn't interfere! After doing that for a month or so to get in the 'rythm' we started counting our calories and tracking them in a book every day (to make sure we were staying low but not too low to be unhealthy!). So I am 48 pounds down from my starting point as of this week, and I have another 40 or so to go (won't know til I get there!) and my original goal was to be done my goal by our disney trip - not sure if I'll hit it but I'm giving it a good try!

Big big encouragement to everyone on here giving weight loss a go! We all know how hard it is but also how worth it!

Hi!

Kristi from sunny Socal here. Trying to be in better shape for the trip in February. DH ran me ragged in July and we didnt stay in the parks as long as he wanted to, due to me being wore out.

We have started a running training program. The goal is to get fit and be able to do the DL 1/2 Marathon next Labor Day Weekend. This year we did the 5K and it was interesting. I think fun is to strong of a word. :rotfl:

I was doing Weight Watchers but we are trying to save money and I have all the books, so I should be able to do this without the meetings. So far I am down 4lbs in 4 weeks.

I know we all can do it!!

Wow good work Shunasee! What an ambitious goal, 1/2 marathon.....whew, okay, I had to sit down there just thinking about it

Awesome!

Hi! I just happened upon this thread and would like to join as well! I'll be staying at BWV from 2/6-2/9 - just a quickie getaway from the chilly new england weather! Our next vaca is in 21 days - staying at POP for a week. Clearly, I won't be able to do any major weight loss between now and then but I can surely do it before February! Just joined a beautiful women's only gym and met with a trainer. I am following the WW points system as i have all the books. Hoping to shed 15ish lbs before Feb...although i might be able to do 20. The dining plan is really gonna make it hard for me! Darn it~! ;)

Yup, all bets are off when at the parks! Darn Disney and their delicious food!

Hello everyone, I am in as well.
I am from Calgary, Alberta and i started my weight loss almost 1 1/2 yr ago. I was 245 lbs when i started and have lost 40 lbs and 65" off my body. unfortunately for the summer and beer at the lake i think i have lost the same 10 lbs over and over.
I have been doing Hip Hop Abs and it sounds funny but it works, it is alot of fun and i have lost just about 4" in 3 weeks.

my goal is to be 170lbs so i would like to loose 40lbs hopefully by Feb 10 (when we leave).

good luck to all of us....................

I'm joining!!!

I've been doing WW since the 2nd week of August and I've lost just over 20 pounds so far. Next weigh-in, I should hit my goal of 10% lost!!! :cheer2:

I have another 44 to go before I hit my goal. Another 20 over that would put me at my high school weight, which I hope to eventually reach. But I want to lose that 44 before our trip next August.

This is so awesome! Way to go on the loss Ron (those summer beers are killer I know!) My husband and I are in Regina, Sask, so we are expecting it to be harder to motivate ourselves to get out and work out when it's dark 20 hours a day and -40c, but we're gonna do it!

Wishing everyone success! Keep on truckin!

Hi Joy1619,

i hear ya, unfortunately another couple of games like the stamps have been playing i will be drinking alot more (hope the flames are better this year). when are you going down to WDW?

Oh Calgary is stunning! We were there a few years ago just after the Flames made it to the finals. The Saddledome is one of the most amazing arenas I have seen.

Sorry I will now return the the topic of the thread. :)

Haha Shunasee, I think some OT stuff is just fine! I guess I'm so close to Calgary and go there so often I take it for granted, but it is a very nice place (and right outside of it is beautiful as well, we stayed in Kananaskis a couple of years ago and that is some amazing beauty)

And of course Ron, I LOVED the Stamps play two weeks ago ;) however yeah, that loss to B.C. was not their finest playing - they are waaay better than that! Now if the Riders could just keep that 13th guy off the field...

I'm hitting a bit of a plateau on the weight loss, so I think it's time to kick up the exercise level a little, and start doing some weight training in addition to the cardio stuff, the problem is finding hours in the day...especially once my son's soccer gets started, and since I travel a lot for work (just got back from Ottawa and will be in Calgary in a couple of weeks, etc). I just keep reminding myself that the more weight I lose the better and healthier I feel, and that keeps me going some days...

Hope everything is going well for everyone else!

:thumbsup2

Oh and sorry, we are going to WDW January 25 to February 8 - staying offsite at Windsor Palms resort - we have a 4 bedroom villa with our own pool and hottub, and Windsor Palms is a gated community with 24 hr security at the gate, and we decided we would rather have the extra space to spread out and our own pool than be immersed in the disney magic 24-7; to each their own on this, I realize we may be in the minority  but it is also very reasonably priced - less than a deluxe and maybe even less than a mod, and we always rent a car anyways when we travel because we like the flexibility to go shopping etc, and we are going to do a few days at Universal, so it worked for us....

We are actually only going for 3 days wdw3 days universal 1 day discovery cove(must do) and 10 day caribbean cruise on princess

How's the working out? I am down albs this week
:yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

i weigh in tomorrow night. (keeping fingers crossed)

not the best week food wise.

I am looking into a small gym down the street from our house. They do a 5:30am boot camp i want to try. Not really a morning person, but i know i wont get out after work.

So far so good - going to be a rough week ahead though, as my brother-in-law is getting married and there's not much hope of counting calories at a wedding reception (and I'm hosting the rehearsal dinner too), but I will get through somehow. I have now hit the 50 pounds lost mark, which I'm very proud of, but still a ways to go.

Shunasee, I am SO NOT a morning person either! But evenings are really busy etc so that's why we started going to the gym in the mornings - oddly, after a while I started to enjoy it, knowing after work that I didn't have to find time to go that evening when I was tired and busy, and also it gave a few extra minutes in the morning to have a coffee and relax before the 'get-ready-and-run' morning routine started. You can do it too! A class sounds awesome!

We may now do 4 days at Universal, as on UndercoverTourist the Mousesaver ticket price for a 4 day park-to-park was only $0.90 more expensive than the 3 day....even if we don't use all the days of WDW or Universal tickets, it gives us lots of flexibility, which we like!

Awesome Ron! We're still doing our 35 minutes of cardio in the morning, and we've added weight training and some treadmill time in the evening (lord how I hate the treadmill - they need to balance them better so it doesn't ever make that darn thumping noise when you're running - it's like it's announcing "Heavy person running!!" with every step!)

I see Calgary took a good one off Montreal on the weekend darn it! Now we have to keep on winning and hope the Stamps lose sometime so we can catch ya in the standings and get the home game for the West finals :rolleyes1

You are sure putting a lot of work into it, I hope you keep on going! :thumbsup2
