February Crowds

Hi Everyone!!

We will be heading down to Disney Feb. 1st-10th. I know that there is a couple of cheerleading and dance competitions while we're there. What my question is, if any dis'ers can tell me how these compettions will affect the crowds?? During that week it is also, Mardi Gras and Superbowl weekend. I am worried that the parks will be very busy. What do you fellow dis'ers think???

We will also be there, our dates are Feb 5th to Feb 12th. I was thinking/hoping that because of Superbowl the crowds might just be alittle lighter . Anyone have any guesses?

We are there the 2nd to the 7th. I was hoping crowds would still be low. We have never been this time before but if I survived Christmas of 2003 then I can survive cheerleaders and dancers, lol. Hey it's WDW can it get any better?

We went the last part of Jan into the first week of February last year and it was great. I think there were supposed to be cheerleading comps. then too but I never saw any of them. MK seemed a little bit crowded the one day we went, but not bad. The weather was a little coolish in the mornings but warmed up in the afternoon. Great touring weather but not good swimming weather...although I did see folks in the pools.

We're going the same time this year. Jan 30 - Feb 4!

Where did ya'll see that there were cheerleading competitions during the first week of Feb? I haven't seen that anywhere. We went one year during New Years, so compared to that it ought to look like a ghost town!

From what I've learned, none of the events in early Feb. will affect crowds much. It's only President's Day Weekend when crowds increase significantly.

We are going Feb 2-5 and I think the Dance Team finals may bring more than usual crowds. According to Varsity.com there were several teams that participated last year. You can see the first days competition here. What gets me is past competitions are held at MGM studios on the first day, maybe due to the number of teams. If that trend holds then a major attraction at MGM will be unavailable. I emailed customer service at Disney World to express my concerns of why they had not placed this information somewhere on the Disney site, of course I have not heard anything back. For some people this will be very upsetting when they arrive at MGM and find thousands of screaming teenage girls. Supposedly there is a special Dance Team night at the MK but I have no Idea what night it is. I do know Feb 6 is Dance Team night at MGM that information I found here (Adobe acrobat reader is required) So plan accordingly.

I don't know if we should switch our week from Jan 25- Feb 3. At least this way we will only have one cheerleading competition during our stay and we don't have to worry about Mardi Gras, Super bowl or the Dance competition. What do you guys suggest I do??? The reason we are going in Feb. was because we wanted to have very little crowds.
