February Crowds?

I am trying to plan a group trip of 10 adults to visit Universal and Sea World in February. We were leaning towards school vacation week here in Massachusetts...which would be President's Week. Im noticing the rental homes consider that High Season.

Members of our party are worried that will mean high crowds at Universal and Sea World. Is that what we should expect? I only know Disney and even at that I've never been at that time of year before.

How is the weather in mid-February? One member of our party has an allergy to the sun so she has to wear long sleeves and we dont want her to melt away.

We were considering renting a house that will have a pool but I know that we can have that heated so hopefully that won't be too cold!

Thanks in advance for your advice!

February should be mild crowds as both parks, as things don't really start picking up until Spring Break hits in March/April. They may be busier on a holiday, but nothing compared to the madness that starts at Spring Break.

The weather could vary wildly during February. It's still technically our cool season, but it's not unknown for the weather to go from near-freezing to blazingly-hot overnight. Often, cold fronts are preceded by a line of heavy thunderstorms which could make for a damp couple of days, but cooler weather afterwards. Your photophobic friend should be fine in her long sleeves. I may be a thin-blooded local, but I don't break out the short sleeves myself until March at the earliest, but usually closer to mid-April. ;)

Most home pools around here aren't heated, as that's an expensive thing to run at your house. (Although vacation rentals may be different, so be sure to ask specifically if it's heated.) So you may not do much swimming... heck, at a family member's birthday at the Hard Rock Hotel in February a year or two ago it was too cold for me to even attempt to try out their /heated/ pool... which I regret, because it looked like a blast! Your mileage may vary, however... as most northerners are more adapted to the cold than we Floridians. ;)

Hope that helps! Have fun, February's a great time to hit Florida! =)

So do the kids in Florida get the Presidents week off like we do here in Mass?
