February 9, 2012 3 Night Bahamian Dream Cruise

I think we may be joining you guys on this sailing. My family of 4 hubby and2 DD 8 and 5, then my mom, dad, sister, cousin, sister in law and 1 or 2 of her hearing impaired friends. Have any of you cruised in Feb before? What are the seas and temps like? Could you use the pools and swim in the ocean or was it too cold?

Most of our cruises have been in January and the pools are fine. They are heated. :thumbsup2 I don't swim with the fishes :snooty: so I can't tell you about the water in the ocean or gulf. :confused3

 Made my final payment! :woohoo: Now to see if there is anything that I want to pre-book. :upsidedow Probably not though.

Thank you!!!

I'm officially all booked and ready to go since last Wednesday lol! I'm checked in & picked my port arrival time now I just have to wait patiently. I'm staying at the Hyatt MCO the night before but the nightly rate is out of control. It is currently at $269/night for 2/8/12. I booked it but will probably check on hotwire closer to the date or purchase a stay certificate for $145. The convenience is worth at least the $145 to me plus our flight lands at almost 10PM and I know I will be too tired to do a hotel shuttle & blah blah for less $.

I'm so looking forward to this cruise! I know it will be a welcome break from the NY cold.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Now on to Christmas!! :santa:

:surfweb: Not that I was going to rent one anyway but all 20 of the cabanas on Castaway Cay have been taken. :confused3 17 of them go for $499.00!! :scared1:

We have cabana #6 reserved but not sure we'll keep it. Since it was available thougth I should get it while I could, can always cancel. :rotfl2:

Does anyone ever share Cabanas? Are they big enough? $500 seems pricey for a place to put your stuff for a few hours.....We did not even attempt to snag one this time, but just wondering for future reference.
I cannot believe how close our cruise is getting- I already started packing!!! I know that sounds pretty crazy but I am too excited to wait, and it is not like we are gonna be wearing our summer clothes anytime soon up here in Ohio!

People do share the expense for cabanas. You can have 6 people at the $499 price and $50 per person after that for a maximum of 10. Often people on these meet boards will share the cabana and expense.

We don't have much use for summer clothes in Nebraska either this time of year. :rotfl2:

It was 37 here when I woke up this morning. It is currently 48 in NYC.

38 for a high today in Nebraska.

Might make a trip to florida at the end of the month for Nebraska's bowl game if they play in Orlando or Tampa. Vacation before vacation. :thumbsup2

It's chilly here in Central Florida too! ;) The high today was only about 74 degrees!

Oh boo-hooo!!! LOL It was 20 here this morning- 74 would be a massive heat wave! Our heat has been on for 3+ months!! What I would not give to move south, too bad I like my family.....

It was 46 when I got up yesterday AM. For Tampa, FL, that is COLD!!!!

We love our families, but we also love sunshine, warm weather & being close to Disney/the beach (NOT Lake Erie) & a short drive to Port Canaveral :thumbsup2 Family comes to visit while we live here all year round :goodvibes

What would I do without the FL resident discounts??? :scared1:

I hope you know I was not implying that you don't adore your family too!!!

Lake Erie is in my backyard and although I enjoy it here in the summer, I would go south in a heartbeat if I could. With my husband in the military though we have to stick close to the people I can lean on when he is gone- and I cannot talk my parents into moving to FL just yet. I am hoping when they retire we will be able to make it happen!
