February 9, 2012 3 Night Bahamian Dream Cruise

I have a list of things I need to be working on right now, but there never seems to be enough time. It seems my time on the boards is one of those items that ends up being cut out of the day. Right now I'm counting down the days to our Oct cruise.

We are heading to Aulani in October so I seem to be spending more time on that then the cruise right now. After Oct I'll be back! :thumbsup2

I understand! :surfweb:

Quiet bunch aren't we? :confused3

Same with me ~ lots going on right now! We have house guests (2 of the 4 people in the family moving to Lutz - by the way, they live on Newberger Rd across from the Lutz Executive golf course!), then we have our cruise on the Magic Oct 1st., then when we return, I have a certification exam that I have to sit for between Oct 8-22nd sometime. Then, (even with the holidays around the corner), I know I will have time to back on the DIS :thumbsup2

We scheduled this Feb 3-night cruise to use the Dream to prep us for our two cruises in 2012 on the Fantasy, plus, once we complete this cruise, we'll be Gold CC members :sail: Then, only a matter of time to Platinum!!! :woohoo:

It is a busy time for us as well. :laundy:

Our DS and DDIL are making a move from Dallas to St Petersburg, Florida after over 12 years of living in Texas.

We have a semi-annual business meeting this month that my wife and I are planning. It's a big deal for us. Before that meeting ends I fly to St Petersburg, Russia and Moscow for two weeks! :rolleyes1

Lots to do but I want to give this cruise some time for planning. :surfweb:

Just checking in. :surfweb:

Spending most of the time now preparing for my trip to Russia at the end of this month. :thumbsup2 I'm spending about two weeks in St Petersburg and Moscow doing some work but also visiting friends who now live there.

Sounds great. Have a great trip!

Just checking in before I leave for Russia. :thumbsup2 I'll be out of pocket for about three weeks. :surfweb: I hope everyone stays safe and has fun!

We are a family of 5 (Myself, my DH, DD7, DD5 and DS3) embarking on our first DCL experience!!!
My DH will be home from Afghanistan on his mid-deployment leave; being the die hard Disney addicts that we are, we couldn't think of a better place to spend our precious family time then WDW- until we remembered that Disney has a cruise line!!

Now we will be squeezing a six day stay at WDW and this three day cruise into his short fourteen day leave window. The best part of the whole thing is that my kids have no idea about any of it- that Dad will be home, that we are going on a trip and then that once we are done with the WDW part that there is a cruise to follow-(it won't be until we are in the car heading for the airport to return home as far as they are concerned, that the cruise will be revealed!) the whole two weeks is going to be like one dream come true after another for our dear babies! I have never been so excited about a trip in my whole life!!! :woohoo:
So, that being said what does a first timer need to know??:confused3

Welcome to the DIS boards, and to our cruise thread :goodvibes

We just got back from our 4th DCL cruise on Saturday - it was a fabulous time!!! We :lovestruc love :lovestruc the Disney Magic!!!

Go to the main DIS forums and head over to the Cruise Line board - first, ready through the FAQ sticky at the top - very helpful. Then, start reading some of the posts and post some questions of your own, too!! Feel free to ask anything to us and any other cruise veterans (we've done 4 total, but the last 3 have been in the past 14 months, so pretty recent!!).

Hope this helps, welcome again, and thanks to your hubby for his service!! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the "Welcome"- I have been reading a lot about "Fish Extenders" and it sounds like fun- I have searched for a link that has a list for our cruise but I could not find one- has one been started and I am just missing it- or do we need to start a thread?

The Fish Extenders are great fun!! It's not a separate thread; actually there is a link to the FE list on this thread, very first post. Please join - our family is the only one participating so far!

I can't get the link to work???? But I would love to join! Maybe others are having the same issue and that is why no one has signed up?? Just a thought...Either way, put me on the list please!!:yay:

Sorry, I had a complete overhaul on my website and this is one of those links that never got updated. The FE List link is not corrected in the original post. If you want to join send me a PM with your family information and I will add it to the list.

I cannot PM yet, because I do not have enough posts-

I'm not sure what all info you need- but we are in rooms 5534 & 5536 our kids are Madilyn 7, Isabella 5, & JP 3.

I'm a newbie so please let me know what I should be doing!!! Thank you!

P.S. :cheer2: O-H-

We just booked this cruise! It will be me, my DH and our DS (2). It is our first time on a cruise (EVER!). We are also going on the July 9, 2012 Alaskan Cruise on the wonder (Just DH and I) but this will be our first cruise and I am so excited! :goodvibes

It is our wedding annivesary (we got married last year on February 12th in WDW :lovestruc) so we are doing 3 days at Beach Club Villas, the 3 day cruise, then 5 days at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge.

I PMed you to join the FE thread, let me know if there is anything else I should be excited about! heh :rotfl:
