February 28, 2009 Bushwacker Banditos Magical Cruise

:welcome:Sue, So glad you stopped by the thread and introduced yourself!! My dd is only 4 and is not quite up to 'chatting' just yet. We are on our first Disney cruise and it is a "wish" trip for our dd who is a cancer survivor! :welcome:

Hi,
My name is Sue and I am also booked on this cruise. It is my fourth but I am bringing 5 people new to cruising and thought that Disney should be their first!

Hi Everyone!:wave2:

I hope everyone is having a good weekend so far!
Just wanted to stop by and say hello and post a few, well maybe more than a few, pics of my daughter and I from our trip to Disneyland yesterday! ::MickeyMo

Thanks for the nice welcome. I have begun to read the thread from the beginning and I am about 1/3 of the way through. As soon as I can I will send all of our info to Joanna so we can be included in your group although you may not want us as we are from Philadelphia and therefore -Phillies phans!
I am excited to see that there are other pin traders on this thread!! That is my hobby or illness depending how you look at it!
Hopefully we can find out likes and collections and find some pins to trade!!:cool1:

I have noticed that there will be some 8-9 year old girls. My niece will be thrilled. She is not as well educated in Disney as I would like but we are working on it.
Have a great day!!:thumbsup2

I too was at Disneyland last night, but I was there for Pin Trading night. Had a blast. Traded a lot pins.

I was a little bummed that the fireworks got cancelled cause of the wind. I haven't seen the fireworks show since March and my daughter and I had an awesome spot right in front of the castle! But oh well, I'll get to see fireworks on the ship!

TOYS4U2PLAY, it's nice to meet you!!
Hope to get to you know better these last few months before our cruise! :thumbsup2

I just finished reading all the posts and I must say that I will side with the drinkers instead of the sports fans.I am sorry that I did not know about these boards sooner.
I am traveling with my family who are not yet real Disney fans and think that I am a little nuts but I think that Disney is magic!:wizard:
I am hoping to sway some of my traveling companions on this trip. One thing that I am sure of is most of us do enjoy our bar time.:drinking1
I am pretty computer challenged when it comes to these boards so please excuse any errors . I am trying to figure out what some of the initials mean.
Work is very busy for me at this time of the year...I work for a toy company.I will try to squeeze out some time to get my info together so my group can join yours.
I spent so much time reading that I skipped some of my chores on this my only day off so I must go do some laundry.:laundy:
Have a good night:flower3:

Hi Sue! So glad to see that you made it over here to our "Bushwacker Bandito" thread from the cruise critic boards. Welcome Aboard!

Vanessa, how wonderful to spend a day at Disneyland with your DD! Looks like you had a great time! I've been getting my Disney fix from listening to Disney podcasts on my iphone!!!

Oh yuck! Tomorrow is Monday.........but at least we'll be one day closer to our cruise!!!

Welcome Sue:welcome: :welcome:
While I don't have a 9 yr old daughter..I do have 2 girls....12 & 15 years old. And like you, I will have to say that I too will side with the drinkers and leave the sports talk to the others LOL!!!!!
Unless I have a few Bushwackers, then MAYBE I can BS my way through some sports talk;)

DMMarla and Vanessa thanks for posting the pics, look like FUN!!!!

Hope everyone has a great Monday:)

Everyone is welcome - we don't discriminate on the basis of race, sex, religion, disability, or sports team alliances. :thumbsup2

Sue - when I get your info, I'll update the list and email it around. There's a couple families I need to remove too.

Ciao for now!! Johnna

so last night I went to my first game at MSG, I'm a NJ Nets fan, but saw the Knicks vs Mavericks play it was awesome first time seeing a game at MSG. I only went to see Kidd play he is the only player on the mavs I like because of what he did with the Nets, anyone who follows basketball would prob know. I hate Mavs though. But I had a fun night last night

Welcome Sue! Are you sure you want to associate with the Banditos? They will hijack your KTTW card and charge Bushwhackers on it all day... :lmao:

Our daughter is only 7 so will probably be in the Oceaneer Club instead of the Lab. Our 10-year-old son and his 9-year-old cousin are at the stage where girls their own age are "weird". Video games are way cooler... :rotfl:

Nice to see you bringing new cruisers along. You do realize you are spoiling them for cruising by bringing them to Disney first, right? We are doing the same thing. We are a party of 14 (me and my 3 siblings with families) and we are ALL newbie cruisers. :woohoo:

I have no problems with the Phillies, I was cheering for them this postseason after my Jays didn't make it. I was very glad to see them win and Matt Stairs (we grew up an hour apart) get his WS ring.

Tink, I LOVE the house, especially the colour. When we finally decide to build, that is the colour I would like. Must be nice to finally have it done, huh?

DW has been away for 4 days so far (10 to go), and the kids and I are making out just fine, although the next 3 evenings are the busy ones, with all their activities. Man I am SO looking forward to this cruise...

John

Sue - just to help with the letters... KTTW is "Key To The World" card - that's the card you use on board to charge all of your purchases (including the bar bill) and it's your room key also. The only way to purchase anything is to charge it to your onboard account through your KTTW card.

It's terribly convenient, but...kinda dangerous since you lose track pretty easily of how quickly it adds up! :goodvibes

My wife and I plus our 20 year old son will be coming on our 7th Disney Cruise this Feb 2009. We are looking forward to this cruise since it maybe our last for quite some time with our son as a tag along. We have never used the DIS boards before and we thought it might be fun talking to and meeting other people going on this cruise with us.pirate:

My wife and I will spend 1 day at Saratoga Springs[DVC Members], then use Disney transportation to the port. Our son is all ready in Florida and will meet us at the port.

Lets hope for smooth seas and picture perfect weather.

Tom,Maria and Thomas

DVC Members since 2003, Castway Club members since the 1999/2000 Millenium Cruise.:wizard:

Well come to the cruise as well. I guess I will see you on the bus since I too am using some of my DVC points at Saratoga two nights before and after. Only thing is I saw the title of your post and just wanted to tell you the 29th of Feb. does not happen next year. I would hate to see you miss the ship.

There is a method to my madness. Once you cruise Disney it is hard to travel with any other cruise line. I have done several and so far there is no comparison. Disney really does have a great program.:woohoo:

I live about 40 minutes north of Philadelphia but I was born and raised in the city.

I have been on 3 Disney cruises...this is my fourth so I know how quickly the charges add up. If it is not the bar then it is the pin cart!!! That is a really big problem that I have.:rolleyes1

Johnna-I am sorry that I misspelled your name...
I need an email address to send my info to you. Thanks for trying to translate.I ask my kids what and how to do all this computer chatting.:surfweb:

Johnna-I am sorry that I misspelled your name...

No problem - I'm used to it! :goodvibes

Sue and Tom: to keep you in the loop, I'm compiling a list of everyone's information (or as much as you want to share) so we can get to know each other better. Looks like I've got a lot of work to do with some new members and some unfortunate ones who had to drop out of our group. :(

I don't want my email on this public board, so I'll send you each a private message. At the top of your screen, you'll see a box on the right that says "Welcome [your screen name}" - and right under that is a link for "Private Messages" - click on that and you'll have a mesage from me and it will have my email in it, and the info to share for the master list. Don't forget your email - so I know who to send it back to.

Thanks!! Johnna

Well, our Magical vacation just got a little more so. DW had mentioned trying to fit in a couple of days at WDW pre-cruise, so I did a little research.

Our TA (at Dreams Unlimited) got us an awesome price (thanks to the newest Disney promotion) so we are flying down on the 22nd of Feb and staying 5 nights at the Wilderness Lodge before meeting up with the rest of our party at the MCO Hyatt for the night before the cruise.

One of the things we had wanted to do was get a little more info on DVC, so this will allow us to actually see some of the properties.

Now the only problem I see is getting my relaxed, warm, vacationing butt back to northern Alberta in March... :scared1:

NO!!!! I DON'T WANNA GO AND YOU CAN"T MAKE ME!!!!! :lmao:
