Thank you to Indian Princess and all of the rest involved. I hope we can be involved. Just let me know where and when to meet and how many I have to give to...I'll be there!!!

There is a thread on here with FE Gift ideas on it, it is great for ideas but be warned you could be reading for a long time as the thread is really long. If you do a search you should find it.

The FE exchange is simple, you decide when you take your gifts around and you pop them in everyones FE which will be hanging on their doors. It is great fun, my kids love taking the gifts round to all the cabins nearly as much as they like receiving their gifts

The countdown is on...it feels so weird buying flip flops and bathing suits in February. The nice part is the selection is picked over yet.

Ok so I have a really dumb question. When we went in 2007 to the Med we didn't bring a fish extender, but we did participate in the gift exchange. Is having an extender required to participate in this. Most people either tried to balance their things on our fish or just placed them in front of the door...which was fine with us. Is that still OK?

How about hanging a bag off our your fish? I've seen a picture with a plastic bag from one of the ship's stores when the person forgot their FE at home.

Like I said, it didn't seem to be a problem the last cruise we did, in May 2007. But if a bag or extender is required I don't find giving up my stateroom to one of the families that just recently wanted to join. But if you all don't mind leaving stuff at the door and/or propping things on the fish I would prefer to stay in the group!

I would rather put the gifts in a bag or FE rather than just leave them on the floor. I wouldn't like to think that the effort put into gifts could wasted if the cleaners were to come by and clean them up.

If you are willing to give something to all the people who are agreeing to exchange with the newcomers - but also understanding that some may have ordered a certain amount and you may not get everything - then I can add you to the list. Please just look back at my post from last night and email me your info.

TO EVERYONE - I will be numbering the newcomers so that if you made a certain amount or ordered something, you will know the order that people joined the exchange. I hope you all find this fair.

Ok, so I guess just go ahead and remove me from the list then. I didn't realize it was going to be such a problem not having a bad or extender. I guess I didn't understand that was a requirement. Like I said, we didn't have a FE for the cruise we did in 2007 and no one mentioned needing one then. In fact almost no one had one at all, so maybe these things are something that has gotten popular since then.

I don't really have the time to make a FE, and i just don't like the idea of a bag hanging from the wall. I really liked making gifts and dropping them off throughout the ship, and then seeing what people left me at my stateroom. It was a fun experience I am sad I will be missing this trip.

Sorry for the change. If I had realized that was an expectation I wouldn't have signed up to begin with, like I said I was just going from my past experience. Luckily there are lots of people who would like to take my space. Have fun!

We would love for you to participate! I think you should stay in it and if you want it by your door or some how hung up, anyone who is willing to do it.. will. We would just hate for you not to get something specially made for you and your family. So maybe any bag or maybe box next to your door?? So it is not mistaken for trash? Just a thought...

Why is having a little bag hanging from your fish such a problem? On our last cruise someone had a lovely tote bag that we all put the gifts into.

Maybe things have moved on with FE's since last time you did it because on our last cruise everyone had an FE or Bags, I thought that was the whole idea. I am relatively new to all this so am just talking from my experience.

On our Med cruise this last September the airlines lost all our luggage including our custom made FE and all of the FE goodies I had purchased. When we got on the boat, I purchased at Treasure Ketch a blue nylon tote bag for 2 or 3 dollars and hung that on our fish and it worked great (along with buying replacement FE gifts). So you don't have to have a full blown Fish Extender - but just something for people to put the stuff in. If you left it on the floor - someone might walk off with it (like several of our door magnets did)

We will have to start thinking about doing our packing soon, I hate packing so try to leave it till the last minute but DH likes doing it early so he will be moaning at me soon!!
