February 27th 2011 Mexican Riviera aboard the Wonder

We are flying British Airways, but flight isn't til around 6pm the day we get off the ship, so no idea what we're going to do for the day!

Definitely up for meeting up here or there!

Our flight back is at about 6.30ish I think, so will be hanging around a bit as well. If I remember correctly when we went on the last cruise we didn't have to get off the boat till about 10.30.

If I remember correctly you live near my MIL so will definately have to meet up :)

Thanks Disney-Lover for the FE info! You mentioned a FE Thread...where do I find that? Sorry to be thick headed :)

Hi everyone!

My daughter and I are booked on the Feb 27 - March 6 2001 Mexican Riviera cruise, and I am SOOOO excited!! It took me years and years and YEARS of convincing her to get on a cruise ship :confused3 because she saw Titanic and was afraid we would sink! :rotfl2: But now we are fully booked and paid for, and I am just counting down the days!

She is 18, and I will be celebrating my 41st birthday :headache: on March 3rd, our Mazatlan day! :thumbsup2

We are driving in from Phoenix, so no worries about flights. Has everyone decided which shore excursions to go on?

Peeking back in to say we might not be canceling after all. I told my husband we could cancel this sailing and apply the funds to the Panama Canal trip... but... the more I think about it, the more I convince myself that it's a REALLY good deal (we're in a super-cheapo cabin) and I'll regret it if I cancel. We've only sailed DCL once and had no intention of paying the premium to do it again, but at the Kids Sail Free prices it's actually cheaper than the similar Carnival sailing that departs the same day.

If USC upsets Oregon at homecoming today, I will take advantage of my hubby's euphoria and get him to agree to this plan. :rotfl: Otherwise, maybe I'll tell him that all I want for Christmas is for us all to take this cruise together... :lovestruc

ETA: Ooooo, and I just realized that DH is dressing up as a pirate for Halloween this year... I'll point out that he can wear his rockin' awesome costume for Pirate night on the cruise, too! That might just seal it, he loves his frilly pirate shirt! :rotfl2: :lmao:

Whoop whoop we've booked our flights :woohoo::woohoo:

We are flying to LAX on the Thursday before and then home on the day we get off the boat. We haven't told the kids yet but we are staying next to Disney and will be going to disney for a couple of days before we go on the cruise. We've been to Florida loads of times and the kids love it so this will be a real treat for them!

Does anyone know what the weather will be like in February?

Its usually cool in February at Disneyland (mid 60's high) and rain is a possibility that time of year but the really good news is Disneyland is not crowded then!!

our little family( me, my wife and our two girls(8 and 5) have booked onto this cruise as well, this is our first cruise and we are very excited. see you at the party

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to DISboards. I am cruising on the Wonder 2/27 with my DH, DS (10) and DD (6). We have cruised many times and many times to the Mexican Riviera. This will be our 3rd time on the Wonder.

I started to read through the thread, but I still have a way to go. Is there a meet and greet set-up? If so, I would like to sign-up. I did read that there is a FE sign-up, I have to read a little more about what that is before I sign-up.

Looking forward to a great cruise!!!

so what is the DH ,DS, DD - disney husband, disney son etc. Can u tell i am a rookie

Almost under 100 days!

Has the recent Carnival Splendor incident made you think of different things you can bring that you might not usually take on a cruise?

For one thing...I think bringing a small flashlight is one item we will be bringing.

We've been cruising for years and haven't heard of too many situations like the Splendor situation but it never hurts to be safe right?

My brother's co-worker was on that Carnival cruise. :scared1: I figure, what are the odds that that would happen again so soon? Nah, I am not worried, or planning to bring anything extra. It feels like the time is going quickly, and it will soon be time for our cruise! :cool1:
