February 27th 2011 Mexican Riviera aboard the Wonder

Yep - it's those reviews that have me worried. I think Disney was spoiled my family in the past with some excellent character moments. I hope we get a bunch more later this month!

Well I can honestly say that last year when we went on the med cruise we had more photo opportunities than we have ever had in the parks.

Have you packed your pillow cases for autographs? My little girl loved that last time especially because they put it on her bed on the last night :)

So I know Pirate night is on Day 4 (because it happens to be DH's birthday, and I can't very well make him dress as a pirate on his birthday if he doesn't want to,....lucky him!) , but can anyone clarify when formal night is? I first read Day 2, and then I read somewhere else Day 3. And Day 6 is semi formal night, right?
Thanks! pirate:

*Nights 1, 3, 5, 7: cruise casual
*Night 2: "formal night" - formal wear for men: tuxedo or suit; for
women: gown or dress
*Night 4: pirate night with deck party - cruise casual or bring your
best pirate outfit!
*Night 6: "semi-formal night" - semi-formal wear for men: suit/jacket;
for women: dress or pantsuit.

Awesome, thanks!
Just curious, where did you find this info? I looked high and low and couldn't find it myself.

The only thing I am worried about is the characters. This is the main reason that we are doing Disney over the other lines, so I hope that I'm not disappointed with this.

As for everything else - bring it on, it will be great! If I don't like the food, I'll get something else. If the pool is crowded, I will be either find something else to do or play bumper swimming. I'm sure it's going to be all good!

:wizard:

It's been a few years since we cruised with Disney, but the last two times we were on Disney boats, there were TONS of character meet opportunities, they were in the shows, around the boat, at the parties, etc. Our family was alone in an elevator once and the door opened on a floor...in walked Goofy all by himself! So my son got to ride with Goofy in the elevator...I will never forget that. Better than anything you'll find at a park!

Reading things like these is the reason we decided to cruise Disney, but I'm worried because of the recent reports from the MR cruises. I'm not going into it with a negative attitude, just worried. I'm not playing up the characters with the kids anymore - now I'm talking about the beach, the pool, the kids' clubs, all the yummy food and the shows. There is LOTS to look forward to - I can't put into words how excited we are!!!

My DD just recieved her character call last night. Her face completely lit up when she realized that it was Ariel's voice on the phone. Priceless. :)

Has anyone else seen where the muster drill is at 3:30? Could be tight with a meet up at 3PM, but I think it could work out since we don't need to wear our life jackets to the drill. Thoughts?

Since some people are worrying about character meets on the trip I would like to hear some character experiences some of you have had (on ship or off)!:goodvibes
My favorite memory is the day we went to Disneyland and Chip met up with my DD at the entrance, took her hand and led her into the park and then danced with her to the marching band that was going by. Fun, fun!

3pm meet might be a bit tight, what about 2pm instead?

I actually thought you had to wear life jackets for the drill, I can't remember it being an option last time we were on disney cruise but it could have changed.

Just registered today so that I could discuss the Disney Wonder Mexican Riviera cruise. I am sailing on February 27, 2011 with my family and my best friends family!

Welcome to the club!:cheer2:
I think everyone is starting to get really excited now!

Disneylover - I guess it's pretty new that you don't need to bring your life jacket to the drill any longer. They do suggest that you go to your rooms to make sure all of the vests fit your party. From what I've read, they announce this info while on board.
As for the meet...2PM of 2:30 could work. Will you guys need to figure out last minute stuff for your FE?

hi first cruise sailing on the 27th have tons of questions about excursions for toddlers not offered by the cruise ship.... wanna meet some people from our cruise 2!!!!!!!!!!! any tips or hints for a first time cruising family with a 3 year old???? email me kristydcarlisle at gmail dot com

Welcome newbies, as you can see we are all quite excitable :woohoo::woohoo:

We leave a week today to go to LA for a few days before the cruise :yay:

I'll do with whatever time suits everyone for the meet.

With regards to FE's, all I need is the room numbers for the people who have upgraded etc when they board. I'm sure IndianaPrincess is going to drop them off to us on the first night when she does her gift distribution.

ooo what r FE's ???
what is everyone got planned for the excursions???

It's probably a bit late for you to join in now because it takes a lot of effort and time. But here is our thread for you to look at: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2489901

If you would like to take part and think you've got the time to get one sorted then you'll need to pm indianaprincess.

We're not doing any excursions. I am hoping there is something to do around the ports :)

We also have a 3 year old and a 6 year old so we are playing it mellow, no ziplining or dune buggies for us...we are taking the Pez Gato am whale watching trip in Cabo and just going to hang out at the beach on the short day in Cabo. We are going to try to get into Krystal's in Puerta Vallarta and if not then just to the beach thing.

Hi guys! Can you believe it's so close now?!?! :cool1: I am trying not to think about it and stay busy, but of course, the cruise is ALL I think about! :lmao:

I don't think we are going to make the meet :sad1: because I want to do the ship tour. It's our first time on any cruise ship, so I want to get the 'lay of the land'. From what I have read on Navigators that were posted from the cruise 2 weeks ago, the ship tour is at 2:30pm on the day we board. Are any other meets for us planned? I am really bummed because I would like a chance to meet and say hi to everyone!
