February 27th 2011 Mexican Riviera aboard the Wonder

Any tips for doing your own laundry aboard ship? Such as bring my own soap or purchase it there. Do I have to stay in the laundry area or can I come back? :laundy:

Just wanted to share that DCL called us today informing us that the Cabo Beach Break excursion is cancelled due to the excursion company cancelling it.

Back to the drawing board to see what else we can do there...we've been there before several times but wanted to do something organized w/the kids. We know we can see what is available at the port but I guess more changes to our MR cruise....

Anyone heard anything about Krystal's in Puerta Vallarta?

I have been to Krystal in PV many times and it's a wonderful place to spend the day. It is within walking distance of the ship, they have a large pool area with 3 or 4 pools that connect and a swim-up bar, it's on the beach, you can rent jetskiis or parasail. My favorite part is their spa. You can get a 75 min massage for $40. The best massage I ever had.

Hi all, i am having trouble with online check in and wondered if anyone else has had the same issue: The scroll bar on the right of my screen isn't showing when I try to do online check in so i can't fill out most of the information...any suggestions?

Also, some of you have referred to 10:30 not being available for online check in? what exactly does that mean, does that give you priority boarding if you have that time?

Thanks for the help and I cannot wait for the cruise!

Can you use tab to get through the form? Or maybe try a different browser (I have mozilla and internet explorer just for this reason).

I guess Disney is trying to spread people out through the day for port arrival. It's not priority boarding, just the first ones scheduled to arrive there. Rumor has it that you won't be turned away though.

I didn't think about using tab to go through the form...that is likely what i will do, as I only have IE right now. Thanks!!!!

We won't be arriving until around 1145 anyways, do you think we will still be able to get a Palo reservation if we board around 1230?

Last question...where can i find the medical form to fill out for my Grandpa regarding his physical/dietary issues? And should i print it up and bring it as well?

Thanks soooo much....lots to do in a short amount of time

Thanks, that is great to know. I was a bit afraid when I read that it was free to get in...massages sound great too.

Is there anything else in walking distance that is good?...I don't want to have to bring a car seat so no cabs for us.

I'm thinking of Krystal as well - I'm reading mixed reports of $20-25 charge per person that can be used towards food and drink.

Rachel - Do you know the key to getting in for "free"? It seems that sometimes they make you buy a food and drink credit and sometimes you just buy as you go. I don't think our family will eat and drink $80-100 worth so I'm hesitant to go if we have to pony up that much money upfront.

I have read mixed reports too but if they do charge the $20 or $25 it would hopefully just be for adults....I know I can drink that much :)

If it cost too much then we will just hang out at the beach...I read even the beaches in front of hotels are public ...you just may not be able to access through hotel grounds.

Just wondering if anyone is concerned about the negative MR reviews that are showing up? Honestly...I'm a bit concerned, however I believe that your vacation is what you make it. :)

Living in SoCal I know that the weather can be a bit "if-ey" this time of year...people who come here expecting summer weather constantly can be a little disheartened (thank you Baywatch). Just bring a light sweater, jeans AND a jacket.:cool2:

I'm looking forward to our stops in Mexico. Have always wanted to see PV and have opted for the morning city tour...hopefully leaving enough time to troll the beach a bit in the afternoon. The only think we're doing in Cabo is the whale watch on the second day (I figure it's all the time we have!)...so the first day we're just going to stroll around, shop, snack...etc.

I can't really comment on food as DH and I are hardly foodies. I say if you don't like it, get something else.

Really, I just wanted to touch base and say that I'm still super excited about our upcoming trip! I hope that everyone is looking forward to this as much as we are!:cool1::cool1::cheer2::cheer2:

I'm not too worried about the negative reports...I read in another thread and I think they hit the nail on the head, is for every negative report, there are probably 7 positive reports but people tend to only complain, and not tell about all the good things. Honestly, if you can't find something positive about being on a Disney cruise, you need some help! The way I look at it is I would rather be on a Disney cruise than home shoveling snow! I'm sure not everything is going to be perfect...we have been on 3 Disney cruises so far and for 2 of them, our servers were fantastic...the 3rd, our server was not good, but did we let him ruin our vacation? No....we made the best of it and tipped accordingly:)

We always go in through the side entrance, which is closest to the Spa. That may be the difference. There is a guard at the entrance and the only thing they ask for is to look at our ship cards and lets us in. The last time I was there we had a group of about 25 and no one paid. Another thing that could make a difference is that I tell them I have an appointment at the spa.

btw, if anyone is interested in making an appointment at the spa the email address is appointments@milleniumspapv.com. The price went up to $50 for 75 minutes, still a good deal.

The only thing I am worried about is the characters. This is the main reason that we are doing Disney over the other lines, so I hope that I'm not disappointed with this.

As for everything else - bring it on, it will be great! If I don't like the food, I'll get something else. If the pool is crowded, I will be either find something else to do or play bumper swimming. I'm sure it's going to be all good!

I've not read any of the reviews so I can't comment but I am sure that you wont be disappointed with the characters as that is what disney is all about!

I always have good holidays but I believe that a holiday is what you make it :)

2 weeks and 1 day :yay::yay::yay:

The Meet - is it still in the Promanade Lounge at 3pm on the first day? If so I will be there, I'm really looking forward to meeting you all :lovestruc

Yep - it's those reviews that have me worried. I think Disney was spoiled my family in the past with some excellent character moments. I hope we get a bunch more later this month!
