We were not thinking of getting off the boat, maybe at all. So I don't really mind the change.
Off topic but we were just going through all our vacation clothes and I have a DCL girls hoodie I would like to offer up to the first person that PM's me
It's a light aqua (and is brighter than in the pics). It has two tiny spots that are barely noticable (but I included pics)
It is a size small (5/6) but it really fits more like a 4/5. My daughter was a solid size 5 on our June cruise when she bought this but quickly outgrew it as she is now in a size 6 (too short in the arms).
It's free of course, but paying shipping would be great!

I know this has already been discussed briefly on here but I thought I would post this link for anyone that has missed it.

I thought I would start a list of things that I find essential to take on DCL, please add yours as well.....
Zip Lock bags - Good for keeping doughnuts in that you have taken off the breakfast buffet
McDonalds drink tray - Saves walking to and from the drinks machines as many times
Pillow case - To hand in to Customer Services on first day so that the characters can all sign it
One Dollar notes - For room service tips
Booze - You can take your own booze onboard if carried in hand luggage, it will save a fortune
Sweets/Candy - For in the theatre, you can buy it onboard but is quite expensive
Autograph book and pen - for the character signings
I can't think of anything else at the moment but if I do I will add later.
my Dh and i are counting the days!
Hey goDucks! Are you guys flying from pdx the morning of? We may be on the same flight! How old is your DD? Ours will be 2 in June
Just off the phone with Shelby at the call center and this is our intinerary:
days 1, 2, 3 at sea; day 4 (March 2nd) at Puerta Vallarta; day 5 and day 6 at Cabo. Formal night has been moved to day 3 but is subject to change. Night 4 is still pirate night and night 6 is still semi-formal.
Also...our sailing is 100% booked![/Q
Thanks!
A few things we always bring:
*A baggie with SeaBands, Bonine, & Ginger pills. Different things work on different people & it's nice to have multiple options if someone gets sea sick!
*Over the door shoe hanger (the kind with pockets). We organize most of our toiletries & little what-nots in this. Makes for a much less cluttered bathroom
*Highlighters, sticky notes, & pens.
*Suction cups with hooks. We hang our room keys on lanyards, and the lanyards are hung on the hooks whenever we're in the room/not wearing them. We stick the suction cups to a mirror.
*Power strip. There is only 1 plug in the room. You will want a power strip!
*Alarm clock. The only clock in the room is an UN-lit regular clock. We bring a cheap digital alarm clock that you can see at night
*BubbaKeg cup. It holds about 90oz (?), is insulated, & has a lid. Makes quick work of getting drinks. We keep one filled with ice water for me, & 1 filled with soda for Hubby. We got ours at WalMart for about $9 each.
*High-powered wireless antenna. If you're technically inclined, when you're in port you can usually pick up free wireless internet from somewhere on the island you're pulled in to. The high powered antenna, which plugs into your USB port, makes it much easier to keep a signal. They can be found online for about $8 for a basic one (our is the cheap version like that) and we have always found online access in ports except St. Maarten.
*Stain stick. Those Mickey bars can get messy
*Zippered duffel type bag. We always seem to need an extra bag going home, so I throw in an empty duffel bag or other bag that zips.
*Glow sticks. LOTS of fun in the bathtub for little ones
That's what is in our Cruise Bag!
Does anyone know why they changed formal night from night 2 to night 3? I can see that they changed Day 5 from Mazatlan to Cabo but that shouldn't affect night 2 being formal night should it? I would much rather have formal night the night before a day at sea vs a port.....thoughts on why this was changed?
I'm new to cruising, I was just curious, if formal night a must? Or is it optional?![]()
