February 27th 2011 Mexican Riviera aboard the Wonder

Off topic but we were just going through all our vacation clothes and I have a DCL girls hoodie I would like to offer up to the first person that PM's me:)

It's a light aqua (and is brighter than in the pics). It has two tiny spots that are barely noticable (but I included pics)

It is a size small (5/6) but it really fits more like a 4/5. My daughter was a solid size 5 on our June cruise when she bought this but quickly outgrew it as she is now in a size 6 (too short in the arms).

It's free of course, but paying shipping would be great!

Ah that's lovely, my daughter would love it and it would fit. Unfortunately though it would cost a fortune to send it to the UK. Very generous offer though :lovestruc

I know this has already been discussed briefly on here but I thought I would post this link for anyone that has missed it.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2639510

The itinerary has changed as follows:

Day 1- Sea Day
Day 2- Sea Day
Day 3- Cabo
Day 4- PV
Day 5- Sea
Day 6- Cabo
Day 7- Sea Day

Formal- Day 3
Pirate- Day 4
Semi-Formal- Day 6

I thought I would start a list of things that I find essential to take on DCL, please add yours as well.....

Zip Lock bags - Good for keeping doughnuts in that you have taken off the breakfast buffet
McDonalds drink tray - Saves walking to and from the drinks machines as many times
Pillow case - To hand in to Customer Services on first day so that the characters can all sign it
One Dollar notes - For room service tips
Booze - You can take your own booze onboard if carried in hand luggage, it will save a fortune
Sweets/Candy - For in the theatre, you can buy it onboard but is quite expensive
Autograph book and pen - for the character signings

I can't think of anything else at the moment but if I do I will add later.

We have a different one
Day 4 PV
Day 5 Cabo
Day 6 Cabo
:confused3

The above I believe is correct. Some other cruise dates had the all around changes (I think is has to do with if they could get a tender on certain days or not last minute) but our cruise had a relatively simple change. From what people are saying when they call DCL the first day in Cabo it's aprox 10:30/11 am to 7 pm and the second day around 6:30/7am to 1:30/2 pm.

I'm sure DCL is so overwhelmed with phone calls and emails right now. I say give it a few days to confirm the times.

Can you imagine being on the cruise that leaves today? (the first MR is today) talk about chaos!!!

Sorry, I just took the information off the link I posted. I have since looked into it further on different threads on here and it looks like you are right and the information on the link I used was wrong.

A few things we always bring:

*A baggie with SeaBands, Bonine, & Ginger pills. Different things work on different people & it's nice to have multiple options if someone gets sea sick!

*Over the door shoe hanger (the kind with pockets). We organize most of our toiletries & little what-nots in this. Makes for a much less cluttered bathroom

*Highlighters, sticky notes, & pens.

*Suction cups with hooks. We hang our room keys on lanyards, and the lanyards are hung on the hooks whenever we're in the room/not wearing them. We stick the suction cups to a mirror.

*Power strip. There is only 1 plug in the room. You will want a power strip!

*Alarm clock. The only clock in the room is an UN-lit regular clock. We bring a cheap digital alarm clock that you can see at night :)

*BubbaKeg cup. It holds about 90oz (?), is insulated, & has a lid. Makes quick work of getting drinks. We keep one filled with ice water for me, & 1 filled with soda for Hubby. We got ours at WalMart for about $9 each.

*High-powered wireless antenna. If you're technically inclined, when you're in port you can usually pick up free wireless internet from somewhere on the island you're pulled in to. The high powered antenna, which plugs into your USB port, makes it much easier to keep a signal. They can be found online for about $8 for a basic one (our is the cheap version like that) and we have always found online access in ports except St. Maarten.

*Stain stick. Those Mickey bars can get messy :)

*Zippered duffel type bag. We always seem to need an extra bag going home, so I throw in an empty duffel bag or other bag that zips.

*Glow sticks. LOTS of fun in the bathtub for little ones :)

That's what is in our Cruise Bag!

:cool1: my Dh and i are counting the days!
Hey goDucks! Are you guys flying from pdx the morning of? We may be on the same flight! How old is your DD? Ours will be 2 in June

Hi! No - I'm too scared to fly in the day of! Well, that and I secretly wouldn't miss a chance to go to DL - so we're headed in on Thursday mid-day from PDX to Orange - spending a couple days (Fr/Sat) at DL & then heading to port in the a.m.

Our daughter is 2 - just turned in December.

When are you heading home? We go home the day we get back - from LAX - maybe we'll be on the ride home together? Alaska!? ;)

Looking forward to it! Seems like there aren't too many little ones - if we do a meet-up it'd be nice to introduce the girls.

Just off the phone with Shelby at the call center and this is our intinerary:
days 1, 2, 3 at sea; day 4 (March 2nd) at Puerta Vallarta; day 5 and day 6 at Cabo. Formal night has been moved to day 3 but is subject to change. Night 4 is still pirate night and night 6 is still semi-formal.

Also...our sailing is 100% booked![/Q

Thanks!

Glow sticks, they are a definite. Our kids loved them last time on Pirate night.

Baby Wipes - Always good to have in my handbag in the restaurants.

I wanted to give a call out to the following people who we are waiting to hear from on the FE post. Please head over there and let us know you are planning on exchanging on the cruise!

Goducks: yep, Alaska on the way home :thumbsup2
Have fun at DL :goodvibes would love to introduce the girls, they may hang out in the nursery :yay:

So... Where can you buy glowsticks?

Does anyone know why they changed formal night from night 2 to night 3? I can see that they changed Day 5 from Mazatlan to Cabo but that shouldn't affect night 2 being formal night should it? I would much rather have formal night the night before a day at sea vs a port.....thoughts on why this was changed?

Has anyone from our cruise date confirmed that it is now night three?

For other MR cruises, day 2 is now a port day, and day 3 is a sea day- however ours was a simple swap of ports.

I don't believe that they will have formal night on a port day (ours). Usually it is always a sea day.

I would call DCL in a week or so when things have died down to check. Right now the CM's on the phone are telling everyone that formal is night 3- however not all cruises have swapped days around drastically (luckily ours hasn't!).

I believe that things will going to settle down and more organized after this week when they figured out everything. Luckily we still have 33 days:cheer2:

I'm new to cruising, I was just curious, if formal night a must? Or is it optional?:confused3

I would say from my experience, most people get dressed up a little more for formal night. We have only done the tux's on one cruise (the Christmas cruise). For the other cruises, my boys has done shirt and tie. I usually will wear some type of cocktail dress. If you don't want to dress up you can always eat at Beach Blanket which is a casual place to eat. I know the dress code has gotten a lot more relaxed, but I like to dress up occasionally...otherwise I never would wear my dresses!

Just wanted to say a quick thanks to everyone who is posting about what is in their "cruise bag". Question: Do you think an extension cord would be enough (instead of the power strip)? Was hoping for double duty with hair dryer and being able to move around (and out of the way)!
One thing I'm bringing for sure...a room freshening spray. Oh yeah, and my Kindle.
