February 27th 2011 Mexican Riviera aboard the Wonder

:cool1: my Dh and i are counting the days!
Hey goDucks! Are you guys flying from pdx the morning of? We may be on the same flight! How old is your DD? Ours will be 2 in June

So we have been having MAJOR passport issues. We all have them except our son who is 16 and is severly autistic. This is why we are cruising on Disney in the first place, he just loves it. So the passport agency sent back his application saying he needs to sign it in person. Ummm he can't write? They told me to just sign it for him? Then I find out the passport people I am talking to are NOT the real passport agency, it is just a call center, like calling Directv. I have been trying to get a hold of an actual human at the REAL government passport agency.

I certainly hope that you have been able to get this figured out! I'm so sorry that this is happening to you! Sending good thoughts your way...you're meant to be on this sailing!:)

On another note...
There will no longer be a stop in Mazatlan? Instead we will have two stops in Cabo? Guess I have no excuse not to hit Cabo Wabo now (insert smilie w/margarita here)!

did you call to find out about Mazatlan? I know that it seems like no one can book anything for that port, but it still shows up on our reservation. I just reserved our horses on stone island so I'll be bummed if we miss it!

Is that schedule confirmed? I planned the Exotic Rasul from 5-5:50 on Night 2 which means that since we have early dinner we'd be rushing to get there. I'm thinking I'll likely cancel that - but bumbed b/c it's one of the only times that was left...sigh. Other kink is that our daughter will be in the nursery so I have to try & schedule the two together.

Thanks all!

Hold off on canceling...I just read where formal night will be on night 3 now? It had been confirmed as night 2 recently, but I guess with the Mazatlan change things may still be up in the air?

I have been really enjoying reading this thread! I'm not going on my very first Disney cruise (Mex. Riviera) until October 2011 with DH and DS but wish we could go with you guys - sounds like lots of fun people will be on this one!

I hope some of you will be posting trip reports after your cruise as well as posting some of the daily Navigator newsletters so I can get a better feel for what to expect. My son will be 11 when we sail and I hope he enjoys the kids club! I'm also wondering if the menus will be "tweaked" at all from what the Wonder had on the Carribean cruises.

Also I'm curious about what duty-free "deals" are really good deals. For example, some of the liquor prices seem cheaper but the bottle sizes they sell in Mexico are sometimes different than those in the states. We're not big drinkers but I'd get a bottle of good tequila if the actual savings would be more than just 4 or 5 bucks.

Bon Voyage, everyone!

I'm trying to get someone on the phone as I type...

Keep me updated! I was going to call, but seeing as how you are there is no sense in tying up another line! I am very curious as to why the sudden change! I really don't want to have to email the stable and tell them we are not stopping there! I was so excited to go to Stone Island.

EDITED IN NEXT POST!
Based on one of the posts on the main DCL page, here is the new itinerary:

Day 1- Sea Day
Day 2- Sea Day
Day 3- Cabo
Day 4- PV
Day 5- Sea
Day 6- Cabo
Day 7- Sea Day

Now it looks like I'll have to go find a place for horseback riding at Cabo now. If anybody knows of a place, let me know!

My cruise plans have been updated on the DCL site. Here is the itinery it gives me now:

Day 1: Port of LA
Day 2: Sea
Day 3: Sea
Day 4: PV
Day 5: Cabo
Day 6: Cabo
Day 7: Sea
Day 8: Port of LA

Hope that helps you all!

Just off the phone with Shelby at the call center and this is our intinerary:
days 1, 2, 3 at sea; day 4 (March 2nd) at Puerta Vallarta; day 5 and day 6 at Cabo. Formal night has been moved to day 3 but is subject to change. Night 4 is still pirate night and night 6 is still semi-formal.

Also...our sailing is 100% booked!

I'm excited about the itinerary change. Cabo is my favorite port, so it will be great to have a 2nd stop there. I'm thinking one day with the kids and one day without. :cool1:

THANKS for the heads up! I didn't know about the change. Anyone know why?

You have most likely heard about the rising violence in Mexico. I had heard that outlying areas around Mazatlan had seen more violence recently. When I called Disney and asked about it, the rep agreed that this was the reason.

Hi GoDucks!

I emailed the cruise line and one of the employees sent me the info. I had chanced upon the schedule in this board and was so bummed that we booked our Palo dinner for pirate night dinner. :sad2:
It seems that a lot of the scheduling is up in the air with the recent itinerary changes so I don't know if I would change anything right now.:confused3

I also am not sure I would change anything right now...there are other 7 night MR cruises that are having a big pain when it comes to all this- sea days that are now cabo, mazatlan day now a sea day, etc. (look at the main thread on the main DCL page here and you will see that everyone is reporting slightly dif itinerary changes) Ours was a simple swap of ports.

The other MR cruises I mentioned now have a sea day where there wasn't one, etc so I think that is where things are getting confused.

Does any of that make sense?? And it wouldn;t surprise me if a CM isn't sure what is going on yet.

But I would guess for our itinerary they wouldn't change anything formal/pirate/semi formal night wise....

we'll see!

That's what I have on my itinerary as well... I really wish they had theme nights and special dinners listed on the cruise plans / itinerary... would make it sooo much easier!

My excursion for Mazatlan is still listed under the Cabo... I dunno if I should change it and when... hmmm...

37 DAYS!!! :cool1:

The Mazatlan one will go away on its own I would think ?

And as of an hour ago you couldn't book anything for Cabo day 5 yet. And Mazatlan wasn't even in the drop down menu if you log in to book excursions. Hopefully by tomorrow everything on the site will be more up to date

Lol! :yay: I feel so impatient by wanting to get everything planned... I'll be stalking the DCL website the next few days!

WHAT?!?!?!?!?!? :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: Why didn't Disney notify us of this change?? That really sucks. The day we were supposed to be in Mazatlan is my birthday. Although I wasn't too sure which tour to do, this change really bums me out because I have never been there before! I was really looking forward to going to Mazatlan. :sad2:

I just went to the Disney site and logged in. It did not show the change on our main itinerary, but when I logged into saved/booked port adventures, there is the change. Ugh, now I need to figure out what else to do... :headache:
