February 25th Magic Cruise Board

We are looking, as well. I just found this on TripAdvisor...I also posted it to our Facebook page..
Looks like there are several options that you can do on your own!

We have 4 people and just booked with Capt Mike on the Fury in St Thomas 2/29. We looked at all the trip advisor reviews and this one looked great. When we booked yesterday Capt Mike informed us that he has a special price of 70 pp. They pick you up at the dock, so no Cab ride needed. Capt Mike stated that we were the first to book the morning trip, so I just wanted to let people know there was still room. Check out the reviews for yourselves. Hope to see some of you on the cruise. SR

Also, will someone post the google docs link? Sorry all, but I avoid Facebook like the plague, and am very hesitant about most social media. I'd be the one who gets facebook fired! :rotfl2:

I couldn't figure out how to post the link publicly - I think because I created it from a Business account :( BUT I recreated from a gmail account and this should work - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AjGfeZ7roRZAdF9Ha1BoVGZrNHNjOHpfWVVXZFRGN2c.

It's set for anyone to edit - feel free to update! (Sorry to the couple of you that were using the original one, I figured this was easier.)

Looking for any recommendations for hotels in Orlando that you might be able to walk to Downtown Disney?

Decided to stay an extra night after the cruise!

Thanks, leahmichl, for the Fish Extender list on GoogleDocs. DW and DD worked on the gifts tonight, and got most of them done. They ran short of supplies, so will finish up later in the week. It was perfect timing of your post so that we know how many we need.

Hi everyone...as a new Disney Cruiser I am hoping someone might be able to help out with some questions

Pirate night - do most people bring pirate costumes with or are they available to buy onboard?

Formal Night - how formal is formal on the Disney Magic?

Costumes - my daughter and niece want to bring their Cinderella Costumes, is this ok?

Are there any other important things we should now before we go? ie. Theme nights exc.

So excited!

This is our second Disney sailing, so we have a plan for all costumes, including Formal night:

We bring full costumes for Pirate Night. Boots, hats, sashes, coats, belts, everything. We wear them for dinner and keep them on until after the Deck Party. Last time a little girl (maybe 5 or 6 years old) came up to our family in the hallway and asked if she could take a picture with us. However, we were definitely in the minority. I would say that 80-90 percent of the people at the Party were very comfortable decked out in the bandanas that they hand out at dinner.

We also bring formal clothes: my tux and DW's ball gown. We have very few opportunities to wear them on land, so we do formal night and Palo in our finest. Last time I saw only 1 other tuxedo on formal night and just a few gowns. About a quarter of the men are wear jackets (even fewer with ties), and very few of the kids are fancier than a knit shirt with a collar.

Formal and semi-formal are suggestions, not even to the level of guidelines. You will be accepted and treated well in the dining rooms no matter your level of dress (excepting bathing suits, and because of the air conditioning I wouldn't recommend shorts).

Princess dresses abound at all times and places on-board. And the characters make a big deal about meeting princess when you run into them.

Hope this is helpful without scaring anyone off too much.

I'll start out by admitting that I am a coffee snob. I don't drink coffee too often, so when I do go to the trouble I want it to be worth my while. Frankly, the stuff they offer on-board is not very good unless you go to the Cove Cafe and pay extra for it.

For this trip, I found a travel mug with a built in French Press. I just tested it this morning and it works great! Now I'll bring my own ground coffee, get some hot water at the beverage station on Deck 7, and 4 minutes later I'll have a decent cup! Huzzah!

Oh papa moose..............

Where did you find the cup/press???

sounds incredible...

I totally dislike the coffe on board
Even the COve, although i do usually purchse at least one a day, I dont really love.

Okay the votes ae in and the Meet will be..........

No problem Emmysdidi

I know everything can get overwhelming .....

But here is my delima, I dont know the 3 cabins i am supposed to be delivering to and how many kids.

I will scrolll back through now and see if i can figure it out BUT if any one has the list and can just tell me the 3 Newest addons i would appreciate it.

I have so much to do today, as this will be my last day off before we leave. To get anything accomplished except toilitry bag.

I am off Saturday but now my Oldest son and his wife have decided to come and spend the night.....And since we will miss BOTH of my Boys BDAYS while we are gone, we will be celebrating them SO I HAVE LIMITED TIME

Will be working all day!!!

Hi Dizzi...I am two of the newbie cabins, 8500 (ds 7 and dd 5) and 8502 (D niece 6). Hope this is what you are looking for! Good luck with getting everything done! I have a few more days as we don't leave until the 21st but am still in panic mode!

Dizzi & ThreeWilmingtonWalls -

I got mine at a shop whose name rhymes with Far Ducks, but it is made by Bodum, and you can find them on-line at Amazon or E-Bay. They run around $20 and I think it's called a Travel Coffee and Tea Press.

DW recommended I purchase the actual coffee in Florida, as urban legend has it that TSA dogs are trained to signal the presence of coffee in luggage due to it's use in drug smuggling (it masks the scent of other, less socially acceptable forms of stimulation).

Hi! We are sailing on the Feb 25 Magic 7 day from Cape Canaveral. We would like to participate in the Fish Extenders. We have two adults and two girls, ages 5 and 7. Is it too late to join, or can we still participate? I will join the google docs next to make sure we're signed up. I saw on Facebook a date of Jan 15 that you had to be signed up before. Since this is all new to us, we were unsure of how to participate.

Anyone with information would be helpful at this point!
Thanks and YEAH! Just a few more days until CRUISE TIME! I'm *so* already there!

-Saratoga Kathy (and crew!)

Hi again! So, I found the google doc for the fish extenders and added us onto the list. We are lines 42 and 43, one mom, one dad, two girls ages 5 and 7. We would like to participate, but are unsure if we bring something for everyone, or I saw one post that was asking about "their" three assigned cabins. Do we have only a few to bring for (I already started buying!)? Any help would be great and we'd love to meet everyone at the meet and greet. Any advice from non-newbies would be welcome!

Nice to meet everyone! Hope to see you Saturday at 3!

Thanks! Haha - I'll have to stop by "Far Bucks" tomorrow. :goodvibes

Hi Kathy -

Welcome!

The plan with the extra cabins at the bottom were that since they are joining the FE late, and delivering to others if they wanted, but with the understanding that the rest of the folks on the list may have already finished their exchange gifts, and may not have enough to deliver to these "extra" late-added cabins. Some folks are still able to make enough gifts to include these cabins, but everyone might not be able to participate with your cabin fully.

Dizzi isn't participating in the FE, but she decided to gift to those "extras" so they don't feel excluded!

(DIZZI - the cabins are DPLYow 2 cabins (8500 & 8502) Adb003 (no cabin # yet), and Saratoga Kathy's cabin (7540) )

I'm sure my thoughts are the same as the rest of the group, the more the merrier, but don't be disappointed if you don't get a gift from everyone on the list.

Everyone on this thread is super great, I can't wait to see you all next week at 3 in the Saratoga lounge!

We leave in 7 days for FLA, and sail in 9! :dance3::dance3:SINGLE DIGIT DANCE!:dance3::dance3:
