February 25th Magic Cruise Board

There are white wall verandahs for only $600 more than we are paying now.

That is less than $50 a day per person

We would like a verandah but didnt want to go over baord on the $$$

We do have 3 sea days ..... verandahs are nice on sea days especially with no kids and a DH that doesnt like to sit in the sun as i do.

BUT we are hoping for an upgrade when we get there for less $$.

OMG i just dont know what to do.

THere are 8 of the white wall verandah rooms left maybe i will watcha nd see if they start to dwindle down.

I too like the idea of a meet & greet on the first day. Somehwere with a bar of course! Maybe right after the muster station call?

Either way my group will be highly visible at the port, as we will all be wearing tie-dye tee shirts (not DIS ones, but still bright!) even my grumpy dad! DH is 6' 6" tall, so if you see a really tall guy in a tie dye tee shirt from the Mongolian BBQ, say Hi, I'm probably not far behind.

I'm hoping for an upgrade too! We've got one (actually 2)of those golden inside staterooms apparently, maybe they'll boot us up the ladder so someone else can join? :wizard:

Got the e-mail yesterday from the TA that we are paid in full! I might try and stay up tomorrow night to book Palo, excursions, and departure time. I'll let you know how early we get.

I've gotta get some wrapping done today! I had another big week of meetings, and of course got sick! Spent all day Thursday in the recliner with the tissues, and now just have NO energy to do anything. 2 weeks until Santa comes!

Thought it was about time to put something on here again. Have been reading regularly, but not got round to posting. :woohoo:

Did our online check-in about a week ago and booked the beach excursion for St Thomas. We will probably hire a vehicle on St Maarten and do our own tour as there are some nice looking beaches and places we would like to see.
Haven't bothered with Palo, we thought the food was great last time and we like to eat with DS.

I think I put 12.30 - 1pm as out port arrival time as we are coming in from WDW on the DCL coach so don't have a choice. Last time it worked really well, the transfer was totally hassle-free and it only took about 15 minutes to check-in, register DS and get on board! We were really impressed, having expected an airport style queue!! DS also loved the cartoons on the coach, they really made him giggle :happytv:, which made the transfer even easier.

We have our room number so will PM it for the FE list. I thought I had already sent it, but as Disney have moved us I would have had to do it again anyway. We had a white wall veranda last trip which was great. Only down-side was DS had to stand on a chair to see over the top so we have gone for a clear wall this time so I don't have to hang on to him the whole time he is watching the sea. :scared1:

I like the idea of a first day meet, and a bar sounds just the right place to do it. :grouphug:

We have one more week of school to go before the holidays start, though the Christmas festivities have been in full swing there all week with a Christmas market, Christmas workshops, Christmas concert, special present day and Christmas lunch. Next week is the nativity and the Christmas party (including DS's 3rd visit from Santa so far this year!). Have got the decorations up at home but haven't started present wrapping. Must do some tonight. :santa:

Well this has got a bit long and DH has just handed me a glass of wine so am going to put my feet up for 10 minutes before making DS his tea.

i myself have no qualms of meeting up in a bar....

but

i think we should meet on deck maybe by the pool areas and jusdt order drinks from the many CMs that will be walking around that day.

As we have many kiddos that will want to be in the pool this way adults can talk and mingle and kids can splash or swim or run around:confused3

thoughts:scared1:

getting very excited....

seems so soon but so far away tooo

But we are thinking we want to do so many things different this time around since there are no little kids with us....

we are thinking for the sail away party we are not going to actually watch the show but we aregoing to try to get up at the very front of the ship...
and watch the entrance to the ocean...

i tried to do this on my all girl cruise but we were way to late to get a goods spots....

so we will try again just me and DH

Guess who's back...and still in one piece! Wow, my one night stay in the hospital turned into three nights that felt like three weeks. I am so glad to be home!

We are definitely up for a post-boarding meet-up, either in the bar or on deck! I will just be so glad to be on vacation!:yay:

I called Disney about a week ago to ask them if the cruise was sold out and they said although it was not sold out, Disney is not panicking! Well, I am freaking out because I would LOVE an upgrade.

Has anyone on here ever gotten an upgrade? When was it? At the port or online?

We are getting close!

emmysdidi

It is getting close - yeah!

emmysdidi - hmm, glad it isn't sold out but an upgrade would be nice. I figure there is no hope for us for that as we have inside, connecting rooms for the 4 of us. So as great as an upgrade would be, I don't see getting one in our situation.

Beth D - what are those 'golden inside staterooms'? There are some special ones?

I am still on the fence about the FE and whether to sign up. I have done some general reading and am worried about the number I may have to make. Is it just one per stateroom or are there expectations for something for everyone? If anyone would like to give me some more examples, etc. it may convince me. I have to keep the $$ and size down as we will be lugguage limited and DH was NOT info me doing it when I mentioned it so I would have to sneak them on and then distribute them. LOL!

Shilee..............FE

WE have done many things and have gotten many things.

You can spend as ittle or as much as you want.

NOTHING IS EXPECTED AND IF IT IS IT SHOUDLNT BE this is for FUN!!!!

Small zip lock of candy with your name on it or a little note inside
cruise kit.....a baggy with mints and bandaids and thead and needles etc
small bottles of alcohol
tattoos for kids
I once made magnets for everyone's door with our cruise name and date
i have gotten a homemade cd with Caribbean music
pez dispensers
pack of gum
something with your home state on it
homemade picture frame
rubber duckies
candy hearts
christmas tree ornament
tiny games for kids
coloring pages
crayons
highlighters
erasers
pencil

Normally i know well in advance and make something
This time IF I JOIN it will probably be something wedding oriented

you could look on finger hut or oriental trading company
anything you would give as a party favor is great

Nope not sold out....

as of right now they are showing plenty of rooms.........

They are not showing any concierge rooms:sad2:

But i think i will just keep watching and if and when there is only one verandah room left i guess i will just grab it!

as of right now there are 29 verandah rooms #s available for choosing.

that is not counting inside and port hole

I think there is alot of empty cabins

wonder if they have to be a certain percent sold to SAIL??:confused3

Shillee - i was just saying that the inside staterooms appear to be in high demand right now. Apparently they are all booked since they are the cheapest. It's certainly not because of the amenities!:) I'm hoping they would upgrade us (since we booked many months ago) to a nicer cabin so that they have more room for the folks who are wanting to join in at a later date.

I got us booked for Palo today during my lunch hour, as well as booked our excursion on St. John. We got the 11:30 AM port time, the earliest one was gone, but still not too bad! We're staying at a local hotel the night before, so we want to get there early.

I finally got some wrapping done yesterday, but not the "Dizzi" way! Maybe more tomorrow night while DH takes our son to his PSR class. :thumbsup2

I've only got 6 more days of work between now and next Wednesday! Then I can relax!

I am lucky that Cyndi-rella does the wrapping, because I would partake in a drink or two while wrapping and since I am not very good at it anyway, after about two drinks EVERY gift would be in a Gift Bag!!! :sad2:

"All I want for Christmas is my two drinky-drinks, my two drinky-drinks, my two drinky-drinks"

Us, too!!! Well, except we're driving rather than flying and we won't be getting a marriage license. ;)

We'll spend part of Thursday at MK, and part of the day helping the dizzis get ready for the wedding. Friday it's wedding, MK, Bibbidy-Bobbidy Boutique, and dinner at Cinderella's Castle, then back to Wilderness Lodge to watch fireworks and get a good night's sleep in preparation to storm the port! :yay:

Can you drink....

you should drink your self to sleep for a couple days....:confused3:cool1:

Well...I suppose I COULD drink, but I'm not trying to go out rock-star style, mixing liquor with all these narcotics. :faint:

I'll just keep myself busy with my trip planning and try to keep my nodding off to a minimum. :lmao: It's like I have narcolepsy. For real.

I like to do a little drunk RAPPING from time to time, but that's a whole other story. :cool1:

We are staying at Saratoga Springs for 4 nights before the cruise and will probably visit Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. The 3rd day will be divided between Downtown (with lunch at T-Rex) and mini-golf which DS really wants to do.

And we are doubly excited today as we have just booked our 2013 cruise to the Eastern Carribean on board the Fantasy. We are going with my parents who are celebrating their golden wedding anniversary and have been persuaded to try their first ever cruise with Disney!:cool1::cool1:
Will have to get a second ticker up and running!

We have also just got them connected to Broadband so will have to get them on the DIS Boards.:dance3:
