February 25th Magic Cruise Board

We are staying at Saratoga Springs for 4 nights before the cruise and will probably visit Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. The 3rd day will be divided between Downtown (with lunch at T-Rex) and mini-golf which DS really wants to do.

And we are doubly excited today as we have just booked our 2013 cruise to the Eastern Carribean on board the Fantasy. We are going with my parents who are celebrating their golden wedding anniversary and have been persuaded to try their first ever cruise with Disney!:cool1::cool1:
Will have to get a second ticker up and running!

We have also just got them connected to Broadband so will have to get them on the DIS Boards.:dance3:

Did you have any reason that you didnt wait until the February cruise to book your next cruise?
If you book on board you often get a 10% off of your cruise and some sort of on board credit. JUST AN FYI if you didnt know.

We plan to rebook on board for the Fantasy as well. 2013....we had planned to do an October one since that is the least expensive time of year to go but it was an Eastern Itenerary now i dont know since we are doing this Eastern.

We have been advised to check whilst onboard in Feb to see whether the booking would be cheaper with the 10% discount. If so we just rebook on board to get the cheaper rate and cancel the first one. It all depends on whether prices go up between now and Feb!

Yes you are right about the price could go up.

imight want to do the same thing NOW to decide when i want my next cruise to be FER SURE!!!

hello

just wandering if we could do some chatting about when and where for our first day meet.

also

wondering if you have been able to get any graphic for the cruise title

THanks

Our choice of dates is quite straight forward. We have to fit in with school holidays and it really has to be the February half-term as we run a bed & breakfast that is open from Easter to end of October and Christmas is just too expensive. We then just have to take a few extra days off school at the start or end of the holiday for travelling time!!

well i am a bit worried about school as my DD will be in 11th grade hoping we dont have to go for summer time or a break time....

YES WAYYYYYY to expensive

We're also hoping to book onboard in February!

Getting realllllly excited! Put the 3- and 4-year-old to work slave-labor-assembly-line style to get the FE gifts ready last night. Only have a few more things to throw in before sailing. Already trying to envision how to shove it all in a suitcase!

I booked reservations for a couple's massage and dinner at Palo and I'm SO EXCITED! We spent 100% of our time with the kid/s on past cruises, so we're looking forward to finding a blend of family & grown-up time on our first Disney cruise!

Wouldn't mind some cheap upgrades, too. We've never sailed without a balcony, and we've got an inside cabin on this cruise. A coworker who sails with Disney all the time convinced us to save the money on the cabin because we wouldn't spend enough time there... Still would't mind an inexpensive upgrade with a view :)

Is anyone else staying in Cocoa/Canaveral the night before the cruise? I'm looking at rooms at the Country Inn & Suites for 2 reasons. 1. it's close to the port and the rental car places, and we have to return our car early Saturday AM, so DH might have to walk back to the hotel. 2. It's gotten good reviews and dear Papa is a bit of a grump, so anything to keep him happy is good!

When I first started looking at rooms many months ago it was in the $110 range roughly for our rooms. I held off, and kept checking periodically, it was about the same. Now this week they're up to $160 a night!?!:scared1: I'm hoping it's just because its the week before Xmas, and the rates will drop again.

Any experience with this? Anyone with inside knowledge? The shuttles are all gone, so it can't be a launch weekend, it's not really spring break yet?

Threewilmingtonwalls - did you ever check with Bernards tours about St. Maarten? I looked on his website, and was going to e-mail him about my group of 5, but wanted to tell them that another group from our ship wanted the same beach (not Orient) too. Boy was his music loud though on that page!

Got most of my wrapping done, but not the "Dizzi" way. Love the drinky drink song Emmysdidi!:dance3:

We had DH's work Xmas party last night at a really nice restaurant and there was plenty of that!

2 months & 1 week! That's about 9 more Friday's until were there!:banana::banana::banana:

Since I have only been on the Magic one time, I am not familiar with where would be a good place to have the meet up. :confused3 On our last cruise, we met in Diversions. A few folks had mentioned meeting close to the pool since the little ones would be in the pool area. Does anyone have a any suggestions? I know it will be getting busy with the Sail Away party getting ready to start.

Consider this "open for discussion"!!!!!!!

Thanks!

Hi! Yes, I'm sorry for not updating about this sooner. We did make a reservation for a private tour with the dizzis. As we are traveling with a five year-old, it's just a better option for us. The price for a private tour for five is $350. I can't remember the regular tour rates, but it seems like we did the math and we weren't paying much more for private. We would be glad to combine our tour with your family! I called Bernard at the 954 area code number from his site. If you want to make a reservation, just let him know that our group of five is now a group of ten. I already paid the deposit, the reservation is booked under "Wall." Looking forward to it! :dance3:

My opinion, for what it's worth, is that Diversions is easier for a group meet because it's not as spread out or as crowded as the pool area on that first afternoon. If we decide to meet up on the deck, we should designate a very specific spot. Or you guys could just all dress matchy-matchy and I will find you!

ANy one else have any thoughts on the meet.........

I dont care where we have it...........
I want have any KIDDOS with me and i am def up for a drink anytime this cruise.

I just know how hard it is to spread your time out once you get on board with your family.

I have done 3 first day meets and 2 were at the pool aea and seemed to work out good with the kids.
The last one same one with the Wilmingtons was in a bar worked out fine too but the kiddos were abit bored..........

:confused3:confused3:confused3:confused3:confused3:confused3

Thanks, I'll call or e-mail him this week. I think it would be fun. my DS is 6 turning 7 on the cruise, so there will be another kid along! I'll let you know what we get!

I agree with Emmysdidi on the meet. lets do it someplace a little less noisy so that we can find everyone.

Hi all-
Was there anything important or interesting in the recent email DCL just sent out? Our cat permenently deleted it. (:eek:Don't ask....)

The one i got the other day was just a general reminder about booking excursions and spa visits, etc...

No great news like an upgrade or anything. :sad2:

You didn't miss anything!

Has any one checked ecently to see if we are filled up or if the price has gone down?

I will go and check soon.

I am very busy next several days as i am sure all of you are

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

If i dont get back:santa::santa::santa::santa:

seems that there is only GTY for inside rooms but it doesnt seem that the port hole rooms or verandah rooms have sold too much since the last time i checked.

so this could be good for upgrades as in they are selling someones inside room and upgrading others who already have an inside room

My hope for a verandah is there are 3 rooms left that have a verandah and only sleep 3.

THis is a whitewall verandah but i would take it for an upgrade.

There are several whitewall verandahs that sleep 4 also

soooooo there is still hope:scared1:

I just joined forum today. My daughter, Sydney, is 8 and has Down syndrome. Make a wish has just booked our cruise dates Feb 25th. Im new to cruising but want to do the fish extender and gifts..I will look back in the threads too. My son who is 12 will be with us and my husband who is nervous about being "stuck" on a boat and my mother will have her own cabin she purchased herself.
I need a Cabana for our Castaway stop..any hints as how to get one? We are staying at Pop Century Friday night and our cabin room is 1056. Not sure how to add ticker and all the fun stuff will explore this weekend. Just wanted to introduce myself:)
