February 25, 2006 Western Magic Cruisers!!

Connecticut is sunny and cool. Okay, colder than cool but we're hopefully going to see 50 this week. Thank goodness.

We too had the best cruise ever. This being our 5th DCL cruise, 3rd to the Western I have to say not only was Costa Maya one of the best stops, the cruising buddies we had were sensational.

We bumped into almost everyone during our stay. I think there were about 5 families we didn't bump into. I'm wondering if that was on purpose though? We can be a little over the top sometimes.

Sally, Jeff and Dylan - we had fun. I'm so happy Dylan and Josh got along. It made it easier to sit and have grown up conversations. I think we almost forgot there is life outside of soccer in CT. The ruins were great, weren't they? And it was priceless to hear Dylan ask Joshua "Which are you more of, bored or hot?" That was classic.

Moira - Joshua and Elizabeth didn't hit it off like I imagined but you have a great family. I only hope the next trip you take your ladies aren't sick and you weather it yourself.

Jennifer - I love your family. Your girls and Joshua kayaking together was fun. Even though I didn't get to try it myself (for fear of sinking it!), I loved our time. I have the picture of you and I, my new friend. I will put it on my website as well.

Alicia and Alan - it was nice to have met you and your boys. Captain Marvin's was sure rough that day. Without knowing each other I don't think you would have been on our Mayan ruins tour. I do know that the DCL tour was an almost-two-hour trip. Those people didn't get back to port until 5:15 pm.

Rick and Ilene - nice to have met you too. Rick - keep up the bar singing - you may have found an alternate career if you get bored with the one you currently have.

Beaner Jeff & Kathy - you are too lucky to work for Disney. I'm jealous. Norman and I are tempted to move to Costa Maya to get new jobs.

Kathy, Joe, Kelly & C.J. - where is CJ? Norm is lost without the daily sports talk. You have an awesome family. We'd love to come visit some time. It was fun catching up with you all each day. Are Christopher's braids still in? Joe - I beat you. I weighed in this morning at WW and I have managed to put on around 10 lbs. Isn't that disgusting? OMG. We did a HUGE shopping today and now I have to cook for a month to lose this FLIPPING weight! AHHHH.

Holli - hope your next sail is even better!

We made new friends with our table mates. Tim, Kim and Travis are from Vermont and they may have been part of our sail. Everytime we bumped into someone we had on our list they had to endure the pain. lol

Like everyone else ... I'd rather be back on the ship too! We had a great trip, as did our friends. I did get to meet most of you at the DIS meet on Sunday

We had a good trip home. And I'm almost embarrassed to say our first stop before actually going home to "unload" was our favorite local mexican restaurant ... I had a major crave! The ship food was just okay for me. I don't eat seafood, but Alan was in heaven and definitely got his fill! Best dinner, of course, was Palo

We didn't rebook on board. Our friends did get a quote which they said was about $800 more than what they paid for this trip. I'm sure we'll do a Disney cruise again, probably in a few years, but since we don't have kids yet, we'll try something different.

One good thing about being home ... my fleece pajamas!

I must say.. I'm so sad that our trip is over. The beginning was getting on the plane on the way down having already met Moira and her lovely family. Then to get to our hotel only to be too excited to sleep. up in the morning and off to the port. Once getting inside it was incredible!! So many of us here actually did meet at the model ship! That was awesome!! And to see Norm,& Josh, and then Kim.. I love you guys!!! It was so natural to meet you and not feel awkward at all! Kim.. we WILL get together again!

Much of my sadness comes from knowing that some of us may never see each other again!! I think we should all plan a Disney cruise a few years from now that we will all be on again. Many of you will be on more in between.. but if we have one set up for a certain year.. that would so good to look forward to. (Just a thought

Rick and Ilene.. it was so nice meeting you too!! It seems we saw you everywhere we went.. even at CASTAWAY CAY!!! How neat is that? Out of all the thousands of people on board it was so cool to keep seeing other DIS members of our little group here everywhere we went It really did enhance the trip.

I still don't have everyone names right... Feiste.. were you the one that we talked to in the Midnight buffet line?? (What is your name anyway?) After you walked to the end I was like.. "ugh.. we should have invited you to stand with us and not go all the way back" Sorry about that. It was awesome wasnt' it? Dylan fell asleep at the table and was outcold. You should have seen us trying ot get him to walk sound asleep!! It was interesting to say the least, expecially when we got to the stairs! lol Remember that Ilene? ha ha Kim I hope you got to go to that.. I know you didn't see it in the navigator earlier that ;morning. I was thinking of you hoping you figured it out and got to go.

Norm... I love your hair!! Josh too!! Very cool!

The stingray trip with Capt. Marvin's was an experience to say the least. Apparently the tour guide was trying to talk to me and I coudln't get my eyes off those creatures in the water and kept Whoooooooaaaaa-ing and freaking out that I never heard him!! My SIL finally said.. "SALLY.. he's trying to talk to you" but even then I was going "whoooooooooooo" in a very eerie ungodly pitch! lol I sure hope the video didn't catch all that!! But like they say.. what happens at the sandbar stays at the sandbar. ha ha ha We did see a baby stingray in the beach area of the family beach at Castaway Cay though. That was ok seeing it was just one of them!

The ruins were awesome!!! Kim.. I'm glad we got to do at least one activity together. it's was great! The boys made their own fun.. so that was good. I never heard that coment Dylan made.. leave it to my son though.. ha ha At least he was feeling better by then. For a while there I wasn't sure if the bug would actually go away. He'd be fine and then get hit with a wave all over again. But by that day he was doing good.

Susanne.. I loved your beads!!! Mardi Gras get togethers were so neat. I missed the second one but the spa called my name.. he he

I'm glad whoever got our beads and tiara's and patches enjoyed them I LOVE the pics!!!!

I wanted to book another cruise onboard but we have to pay off a little debt first. But we WILL be back! Maybe by then they'll be traveling to Hawaii too! But no biggie if they're not.. I love Disney the best! The comedian, ventriloquist, and juggler shows were incredible and sooooo funny!!! Freddy Fusion wasn't bad either. But the musicals were the highlight of all nights!! If I make Senior Director with my business by the end of the year, we might just book at the last minute for another one

Kim & Norm.. which week did you book for?

I know I'm missing so many of you in writing this.. but only beecause I can't place the names.. STILL!!!! I know the faces though! It was so nice to have made so many new friends... I do hope we will all stay in touch either here or maybe in a yahoo group. This board was great and getting to meet you all was even better! I can't think that we'll never see each other again.. it's too depressing. So I won't...

Sally, we booked for March 4th of next year. We can't wait already. It will be aboard an Eastern so we've got to start a link of our own and also have to start doing research. I've been there already but we knew nothing then!

Who else's kid is constantly singing "Pennsylvania.... pink pajamas....penguins on the bottom"???!!!!! We loved Gary Delana. I could see him every night. And, that Freddy Fusion with the big rubber balloon? OMG

We have also rebooked for Dec 07 and are changing it to Feb 08. We had a great time. DD Kaitie had a wonderful time with Lizzie & Molly and didn't get to know Amanda and Allie due to time limitations. We really loved the trip and can't wait for the next one. I'm so glad Mr508MA was convinced to join DVC we have always loved it and hope you have years of enjoymant ahead of you. If you have any questions check the DVC board or PM me and I will be happy to help. I really enjoyed meeting those of you that I did and hope to meet in the future. I came home with a horrible cold and stayed in bed until 1 pm today and I am back on antibiotics. I will post again soon

We too are bummed to be home. I think we are all a little in shock. LOL! That private beach we went to at Costa Maya was awesome! They brought a table to us right on the beach with our lunch and everything. Mark and I were just very bummed that poor Katie fell on the rocks. We felt like crap for letting that happen. The good thing is that we got her taken care of right away and she and Molly ended up having a great time anyway!

Katie and Lizzie/Lizzy both were too cute and a lot of fun. We enjoyed having both of them hang out with us. They all did a great job at the talent show!

We are all coming down with colds now, but at least it waited until we got home.

LOL! Actually, Mark and I keep singing it to the kids, and Abby gets so mad at us.

We were on the Capt. Marvins stingray trip too, but I don't think Rick knew who I was. I said something to him, but he just looked at me like I had two heads. LOL! I guess I got a little wetter than I wanted on that trip and for some reason it really freaks me out to get my face wet, so I was probably a bit quiet.

We were also bummed to have missed the meets. We didn't book a cruise for next year, and I know I am going to have withdrawals! We have gone on a cruise every year since the first one in 2002. But gotta do some work on the house. We are going to plan a trip to Disneyland though.

We had the best dining room servers--Mladen and Ion. Even our server from three years ago, Stipe, remembered us! He came by the table for hugs and to tell us we were some of his favorite guests. That was really nice. He and Mladen are definitely our favorite servers.

The Pirate Soul Museum and Ernest Hemingway's home were both even better than we thought they would be. The kids loved both places.

Hopefull, we will see y'all around on another cruise before too long!

Hi Judy! I know that we really didnt get a chance to talk much or meet up! I Know you and your family were sitting next to us at Bingo one day! I'm pretty sure it was Wed. afternoon. My daughter won the first game! Well if you are going in Feb. 08 we'll have to compare dates and hopefully they'll be the same!!

Partly my fault there too
I had met Tracy while paying for our excursion, I told her Rick was on that tour too. I had intesions on introducing on the bus, then my son had his little mishap before the bus & after that i was flustered & forgot the intro....
Tell the kids not to feel bad... I didn't even get my feet in the water at the rays....

I am so having withdrawals.... sunny & 36 & it still feels cold... My lunch box doesn't even come close to a buffet.... Meeting so many new friends & being so busy seeing & doing stuff, that I didn't have time to get to know them better, makes it feel like someone that lost something.... Friends

Jeff, I know what you mean about the lunch box. It's going to take days of starving to get my appetite back to where it belongs. Meatloaf tonight is not ringing my bell.

I just noticed that I still have my immigration forms for the Bahamas, nobody ever asked for them. I am thinking I better get myself back to CC before anyone notices.

CJ went to school with his braids today. His friends thought he was nuts but he loves them. I, of course, have a new punishment/threat if he misbehaves, I am going to cut them out one by one.

Is anyone else booked for the same week next year?

I wish we were back there!

Well, I just got the greatest news today!! DH just called me to let me know that we are booked on the Magic Eastern February 17, 2007!!

I am so excited!! We didn't book on board, but we got a pretty good deal anyway! Anyone else book for that week? That would be great to meet up again!!

I am suffering withdrawal from last week! What a fabulous time we had. Elizabeth absolutely loved her time with Kaitie and Molly! We stopped at DTD on our downtime before flying home and every time we saw something with Tinkerbell on it she told me that Molly would like it because Molly loves Tinkerbell!

I can't believe that it is over. I am looking forward to our cruise next year and really hope to see you all again on another one!

Tracy, Elizabeth feels exactly the same way! She had such a good time with Molly and Kaitie. She told me today that she wished they would be on the cruise with us next year! Maybe we can plan on meeting up again sometime (WDW, DL, DCL) so the girls can hang out. I know Elizabeth would love that!

Feb of 08 will probably be our next Disney Cruise. My husband is having great debates with himslf about what we should do next winter. I am still pretending that I am on this cruise, so I haven't joined his conversation yet

That was me Sally, don't worry I'm the same way with names. I'm great with faces though! The buffet was great, and at least if I'm in line by myself I have no witnesses to how much I ate! I actually thought about skipping the line and coming back down a half hour later, but decided to tough it out at the last minute!
