February 25, 2006 Western Magic Cruisers!!

This is too funny!!! I click on the links Jeff sent and start reading the reviews of Costa Maya and I come back to several posts.. he he I LOVE IT! Costa Maya had such diffferent viewpoints it's hard to tell what was actually good or not so good. No-one seemed to care for the Americanized port, as it was just commercial. But hey.. after a few years it'll be all different. There seems to be one beach that is really nice that you can spend the day and is a 5 min. cab drive to. ONe lday said her man at the place was waiting for their arrival and treated them like royalty, but that there wasn't much food in the dishes so you might want to bring some sandwiches from the ship to fill the gaps if you are a big eater. That sounded like the place for me. BUT then again I'd love for my son to see the Ruins. Just not sure how he'd take the ride. Some say it's an hour away some say 2 hrs. and others say it's 2 1/2 hrs. away from port. And hot and sticky. If it was just me maybe but I want him to have some fun too and not spend half the day in a vehicle.

Of course if you dont care about swimming in the ocean, stay at port and enjoy the pool there and swim up pool bar and shops. It's just a tad pricey. But they said at this place to be ready to bargain bigtime!! One lady got a toy drum down from $20 to $1.

There isn't a whole lot to do at this port, but it can still be fun :)

I had plans to "snubadive" there, so....
I AM excited that we will have time to enjoy pirate night as if we were in Coz DH and I were going to go out to eat on the island and we probably would have missed a good portion of the fun pirate:

Now for all of you to know HOW BAD I AM... I was packed the first weekend of the year and my suitcase has been sitting in my room since along with my younger DD's. All I have to do is include my shoes (a whole nother bag... can't beleive I just wrote "nother"... just created a word).

It is SO exciting to see EVERYONE getting excited!!! :cool1:
As far as the green Mickey tags go... I think some people are wearing them boarding day as we wait in line we can actually maybe see other people from our thread. OMG I am so excited!!!! Sea you guys soon!! Karen

Hi Karen.. well Snow in the Northeast is a normal thing (not normal this year so far), but snow is another reason why we always book our flight a Day early... Just in case... we don't want to miss the boat...
Whats a Snubadive.. is it like scubadiving :lmao:

Packed since the 1st of the year, wow, we are prepared... maybe it's just cruise attire :teeth: Oh Pepto, thanks for the reminder...

Pirate night, I think my attire will be just a bandana hat & an eye patch or two, matey... Don't think I'll get the sword on board
How late were we staying in Cozumel, where you were eating on island?

We got snow last night. About seasickness, I get motion sickness easily, but I always wear the wristbands, Seabands, and they work great without making me sleepy. Dramamine, even the non-drowsy, knocks me out. We also have some homeopathic motion sickness tablets that I will start taking the day before we get on the ship. They take a little longer to build up in your system than chemical medications, but no side affects.

Talk about animal worries, our two cats and the fish are usually fine with someone coming over every other day to feed and clean the litter box. However, what I am worried about is our chickens! LOL! We have to have someone come check on them everyday for eggs. Still don't have that figured out. But the most worrisome is that we weren't thinking, and they are sitting on eggs that are due to hatch sometime in the next week. Because it is winter, those babies will have to be brought inside to be taken care of.

Hmmm . . . bummer about Cozumel. We will miss getting to go to Paradise Beach! We were so looking forward to it. But on the upside, Costa Maya is a new place we haven't been to, so it will be fun.

Tracy

Oh Tracy, how are you going to take care of the chicks?? Do you have anyone nearby that would know how? And I know this must sound stupid.. but how do you tell the eggs that are going to be hatching from the ones that are layed on a daily basis... or are those different chickens laying eggs? I feel like sending this post is really going to bite me in the behind after I send it.. lolol The reason I say this is because I once asked why pickles look so much like cucumbers, and my family has NEVER let me live that down!!!

But in my defense... If you grow up and have NEVER heard that cucumbers are used for making pickles... would you know? I'm not a stupid person... just really naive sometimes. I graduated magna cum laude with double degrees.. I'm not dumb. Oh nevermind I'm shutting up now...

An eye patch or two Jeff???? Do you plan on going blind?? :rotfl2:

Whats a Snubadive.. is it like scubadiving :lmao:

See now THIS is what I'm talking about!!! I saw that too and wondered what on earth snubadiving was.. and never even dawned on me it was sCubadiving with a C. **aye aye aye** Where is there a symbol of one smacking themself in the head? :lmao:

FYI everyone - just got back from Target, in their trial size section they have small bottles of Tide (enough for 4 loads) for 99 cents. It's liquid but it should be fine in whatever bag you might use for bathroom stuff like shampoo and perfume.

Now off to research Costa Maya.

Oh and I can't remember which board I read this on but the ladies were saying that there are showers near the work out area and you can use them.. they said they are great!! :cool1: And you dont have to work out to use them. (I think it was a topic about shaving in the small bathrooms..lol) The discussion was hilarious! :rotfl2:

Sally, I read that one this morning, too! I laughed myself silly reading it! :rotfl2: Just one more adventure to look forward to while cruising!! :lmao:

Can always buy extra beads & set the kids up at a table selling stuff, to help them pay for their arcade tab :lmao: :rotfl2:
Just think it can work toward Math school work they may miss

Can always call Disney & tell them we have 200 members that will be celebrating Mardi Gras sytle Monday afternoon, & it would be great if they could set up the buffett that way.... Bet Mickey & Minnie would look GREAT in beads..
Anyone got any inside connections ???

You crack me up! :rotfl: My DD12 would be the first one to set up a booth! :rotfl2:

I think Mickey and Minnie would look fabulous in beads!! We just have to make sure to string a couple of necklaces to get over those ears!!

I have bubbles for the sail away party...are there any of you that would like some of them for your kids?? I have 24 bottles. I wasnt going to bring them all but if any of you would like some I would bring them!! Just would have to figure out where to meet!!

My girls would each love a bottle of bubbles if you still have enough to go around!

I am also willing to order some mass mardi gras/pirate supplies to share with all from Oriental Trading Company. Any suggestions on what our group still needs?

I'll save a couple of eye patches for you!! Where are we all meeting up? I hope we're not waiting till Monday Mardi Gras party. Is there something planned for Saturday after we board?

Sally, do you still have a few eye patches to do around? I could probably use 4 if you do!

Hi Karen! :wave2: I got the ginger tablets at Walmart. They were by all the vitamins.

I saw the snubadiving and thought for some reason she was combining snorkeling with scuba diving/ :confused3

Well I am definately not packed! I did start throwing the odds n ends together. Over the door shoe holder, night light, all the travel size items..etc...

Put me down for 4 eye patches and 2 tiaras! Thanks so much. Now here's a possibly silly question, does Disney provide bandanas for the pirate party?

Great info! Tide however triggers my asthma and skin reactions. I switched my home to Melaleuca natural products 3 yrs. ago and have never needed my inhaler since! It's great! No more migraines either :) WoooHooo!!! :cheer2:
