February 25, 2006 Western Magic Cruisers!!

Hi Becky! Well I'm not exactly 100% positive that Formal night is Monday night...but I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere on the boards that that is when it is. I know we scheduled Palo on that night so that we would only have to dress up real fancy for only one night. :)

Hi Everyone - :wave2:
It's been a while since I posted. I'm getting very excited but still have so much to do. I just knew this would happen caught at the last minute.

Seems everone is having cold weather but us in the south. Very warm, raining, and muggy today. Wish we could get some of that cold weather yall have up north.

I also have Formal night scheduled for Monday night. We have our Palo night booked for Sunday night. Not my night of choice but I will try and change it once we board and add a brunch.

Still have not decided what to do if anything when we are in Cozmel. If things are still messed up from the hurricane we might just stay on the ship... I really wanted to do the dolphin swim but here it was totally wiped out. We did a beach trip last year.

In Grand Cayman we are doing the Capt. Marvin 1/2 day Stingray city snorkel at 10:00. I can't wait. Should be lots of fun. I think some others have this booked also. Should be really fun with some other Diser.

Can't wait but it will be here before we know it. :yay: :yay: :yay:

Just checking in to see how everyone is. I am stressed out and cannot wait for the cruise to come. My DS, 4, is so excited I think he is ready to go now. I think my parents are as excited as the kids. We usually do WDW in Oct, Wisconsin teacher Convention, but this year decided to do the cruise instead. We always take my parents with us to WDW as payment for all the free childcare they provide, so we decided the cruise should be their trip this year. I hope that we all have great weather and wonderful memories.

We are doing the Buccaneer Stingray City Catamaran Excursion, is anyone else doing this one. It is through Grand Cayman Excursion and it was much cheaper than the DCL price.

See you all soon,

Judy:cool1:

Good morning everyone!

We are one month away from flying down to MCO! :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :moped:

We are now in the home stretch. :hippie:  :yay: :hourglass

In a totally unrelated note, I was cleaning out the file cabnet last night and I found the file from our last cruise, Navigators and all . . . :magnify: :boat: :drinking1

Maybe it will help pass the time . . . .

Enjoy your Tuesday . . . . .

Rick

p.s., I love the new smilies!!!! :thanks: :car: :disrocks: :welcome: :sail:

Ugh! 6 inches of wet heavy snow yesterday, more to come overnight. Our January thaw is a thing of the past. :furious:

To cheer myself up I went mall crawling only to find boots and fleece!

My question is, is it cool inside the ship? Is there a need for sweaters?

We leave one month from today, in fact we land almost at this time!

Kathy in Siberia, New Hampshire

DW hasn't found the ship to be that cold. But if the weather outside is cooler, then you may want to have a light jacket. Two years ago it was quite cool when we left PC, last year we were in shorts. Go figure . . .

I'm not suprised that the stores around here don't have summer stuff out yet. It seems like the stores keep pushing the holidays and seasons earlier and earlier. I'm convinced that one day they will catch up, but the items you buy cannot be used for a year . . . .

Just dreaming about Orlando. One month from today, we will be having ice cream at Scoopa's near the airport. It's a family run joint just up the road from the airport and has the best ice cream.

I spoke with my DM today. She and her sister are getting ready to drive down to Florida to start their vacation.

Stay warm everyone . . .

Rick

Connecticut had a terrible snow-turning-to-slush-and-ice-storm yesterday. I take public transportation in when it's bad. That's supposed to be safe. Well, did you know a city bus can go sideways when they have to stop to miss the car in front of them?! AHHHH. I'm so done with this cold white stuff people. I just want warm white sand running through my toes.

Kathy - bring a sweater to at least put over your shoulders in the dining rooms and theater. I run cold and the air is definately on all over the place. If you wear sandals in those places your tootsies may also run cold. :confused3

Some friends just came back from Cozumel. They said the docks and the cement barriers are all twisted up. Snorkeling is not going to be good because everything is all torn up. I think we might just do the mini-golf in Cozumel - if they're still up and running. Otherwise maybe we'll find a place to kayak just to get in the water and get activity.

Sweet, sunny dreams to everyone.....

Kim

Last I heard (from DCL) other ships were going into Coz but DCL wasn't....
Kim.. what ship were your friends on? That totally bums me.. I think that is the place where we were going to go snuba.
Also... do they have a big screen up on deck 9 and do they show miovies under the stars?
Next... I wanted to get my name in on the list of meet and great from this thread. Can the person who is doing that please pm me so I can respond and give you my email? I only know how to respond to pm's and I have never started one yet. Than you so much for your patience with me.
Well, I just permed my hair for the cruise. In 2 weeks I will get it high-lighted and BOY...will that make it real!!!
I have been sick since the fabulous Aerosmith concert last week :hippie: I think I yelled too much, put my kids to shame!!! :rolleyes1 He did great. Lenny Kravitz cancelled due to laryngitis :rolleyes1 yeah, right...
But being sick put me behind schedule and now I am geting way too busy. You guys excited at all? I am getting ready to party!!! :woohoo:
Keep warm!!!! LOVE these smilies!!! (Although I can only pull up the first page! :confused3 :guilty: )
Sea you soon! Karen :cool1:

According to the DCL website, they should start calling on Cozumel beginning in Feb. So let's hope we can go. We just love Cozumel and are really looking forward to hitting Paradise Beach and the mini golf.

Sorry to hear that you're sick Karen. Hopefully you can get it out of your system now so as not to impeed the cruise.

From what I've read on trip reports, the Dumbo-Tron does show movies at different times. Apparently, the screen is bright enough to be seen quite well during the day.

One month from today, we sail!!!!

Rick

I just realized that my last post on this thread was number 400 on the DIS!! :cool1: :thumbsup2 :woohoo:

Just thought I would share!!!

Rick

Congrats on the 400th post Rick!! Here I was excited when I hit 100!! Got a ways to catch up with ya!! :) I know what you mean about the snow Kim! We really cant complain here in WI, we've had a pretty mild winter but that doesnt mean that I'm not sick of snow and cold! I am most definately ready for some sun! :sunny: :sunny:

Hard to believe that we only have one month to go!? :woohoo: I was going to kinda start packing and putting together some stuff in the suitcase...has anybody else started yet? or am I just overly excited!! :yay:

Since this is my 1st cruise...I have a question about the shows. Are we assigned a time or day for the shows or do we just show up when we want? Just kind of confused on that one! :confused3

I have found some shorts here in some of the stores.Mainly in the mens dept. at Kohls. So hopefully in a few weeks they will have womens and childrens too.

Well I hope everyone has a good day and I sure hope time :hourglass flies!!!

Holli and all,

I did pretty well at Target (if you have one nearby) for my 10 yo son, they had plenty of bathing suits and polo shirts, even sandels. Nothing for the girls or women though.

I cannot find anything remotely spring/summery for me though I am sure they will be out soon as the stores continue their constant effort to confuse me with what season it is (Winter clothes in August, Summer in Feb.) I am also conflicting with trying to lose another 5 pounds before we go (Doesn't come off as easy as it used to!)

My dd made a countdown calendar for the fridge. Every morning she gives me the # of days.

One month from right now we will be making our way to the port!

The shows are open seating. You can go whenever you want. The main show each night usually has two performances - 6:30 for later dinner folks and 8:30 for early dinner folks. That means if you have late dinner, you go to the show first. But that doesn't mean that you can't go to the other time (if you are eating at Palo for example). We've never had an issue about getting seats. In fact, last year we got front row seats for two of the shows. :goodvibes It was really neat to see a stage show that close up (like I could ever get tickets at the theater for those type of seats).

I've started putting together our pack list (minus clothes at the moment). Just making sure I can get my own version of Best Buy into our suitcases. :p

Rick, you're too funny and you always crack me up. Joshua is already starting to plan which movies he will be bringing for the plane ride. I'm already thinking about what I might be dreaming of when my head hits the deck 4 lounge chair. It's always so relaxing.....

Of special note - I wouldn't dream of missing the shows. I have only been to Phantom. At least my stage shows are included in this price!

Karen, I think our friends were on Norwegian? They got off the ship and back on. We'll plan on Mini-golf as long as their still intact. It's entertaining and a nice walk. I also sent you a PM. You can email me at nshabarekh@snet.net to get into this list thingy.

We already have 149 or so people listed. I hope more email me. It's exciting!

Gotta go.....

Kim

:cheer2: One month from today!!! :cheer2:

When do you all think we'll know for sure about Cozumel? We loved Paradise Beach last year and areplanning to bring our friends there this year. I hope DCL docks there by the end of February!!

Let's hear it for the one month countdown!!! :thumbsup2 :woohoo: :yay:

I think there are one or two western sailings that are supposed to go to Coz before us. I'm going to keep my eyes open on the Live From threads . . .

No snow here, but the thermometer has decided to head south for awhile. Windy and cold do not a happy Rick make . . . .

DW picked up a box of Mickey M's graham snack cookies from Costco the other day. They are very good (and not too bad for you as well, 0g transfats, made with whole grains, etc.). They come in two flavors, chocolate and fruit.

Munching on some now while typing . . .

Howdy ...

Well, AGAIN someone had to point out to me that it's an important day on the calendar ... the 25th ... exactly one month from when we leave ... geez! :rolleyes2 ... I really am excited, really I am :) I'll blame it on the bathroom project that is keeping us busy.

Packing ... I won't do that until the week of probably. Of course I'll make sure everything is washed and ready to go well before then.

We just booked a jeep tour in Grand Cayman today :woohoo: ... it sounds like a lot of fun! Rick ... I think I read somewhere that they are brand new jeeps ... we'll see about that! Though I know yours was in Cozumel. We are planning on doing Paradise Beach in Cozumel also.

Hi Everyone! :wave2:

I can't believe how close the cruise is now!! :woohoo: We are really excited because this is our first cruise! :yay:

I wanted to re-introduce myself. I know that not everyone is on Kim's list, and since I don't post a lot(but I read this thread daily!), I thought I would let you all know a little about us! My name is Moira (sounds like Maura). My DH is Dave (we're both 34) and we have 2 dd's Elizabeth(12) and Molly(4). We live in Massachusetts, but this time of year I wish it were someplace warm!! :sunny:

We are new to cruising and are really looking forward to it! We love WDW and DL and took the DVC plunge 2 years ago. Best thing we ever did! :cheer2:

I recently learned that some people decorate their cabin doors, and being a craftaholic, I love this idea!! Been thinking about ours and hope to get a good idea soon! :thumbsup2

To all you veteran cruisers, is there anything that you absolutely could not imagine not doing on this cruise? I would like to book an excursion or activity of some kind in one of the ports, but not sure what would be great and what to steer clear of? :confused3 Is there something that you didn't do on your first cruise that you thought you just had to do this the next time? Anything we could take both kids to? I would love to hear any and all suggestions!!

Thanks, everyone, and looking forward to meeting you all!

Moira
