February 2020 car rental thread

I couldn't find a thread yet, if there is one I apologize.

We are taking ME to POFQ 1/28/20 but will need to rent a car on 2/4 to drive to our second stop in Marco Island. Just starting to look at pricing. Would prefer to get from the CCC but willing to Uber offsite for a better deal.

Car rental is such a weird price structure. I have a Costco reservation for an intermediate car from Feb 8-21 for $323. The catch - I am picking it up at a hotel near Universal (Budget at the Holiday Inn) and returning it to MCO. If I was picking it up at MCO also it is more than 2X that price!

That's weird, I always heard there was an extra charge for having separate pickup/drop-off locations. I reserved through Costco as well for an intermediate car Feb 4-11 for $236. I'm picking it up 15 minutes away at a Budget in Kissimmee and returning at RSW. It was twice as much to pick up at the Car Care Center. I'll be on the lookout for a better price, but I'm happy with what I reserved.

Things are strange with rentals! It was 180.00 less to pick up in Tampa and return to MCO. Years ago, it was the opposite

Yeah, we just last week had a rental pickup in Portland, OR and return in Seattle. Much cheaper than picking up & returning at SEA.
