I'm having trouble finding Alamo codes that work for our dates. We need the car by Feb 12 but could pick up any time starting Feb 9. We could return it any time after the 19th. I think we're being blocked by Pres Wknd so I'm really considering 2 separate rentals to get a better/bigger car for the last week of our trip (since we're taking a side trip to the Keys) or *gasp* not renting through Alamo.

Btw, we almost always get better rates with Alamo through the Dolphin or CCC. If your rental is at MCO consider taking ME to/from the airport and picking up your car at one of those just for the dates you actually need it.

This code actually dropped my 13 day minivan rental February 20-March 5 from $1418 to $513. Pick up at TPA and drop off at MCO. I am a little worried that it is not a code that my insurance company will stand behind if I get into an accident. I'm not sure how to ask my insurance provider if I am covered with a code that may not be for the general public. We may just end up with 2 cars instead of a minivan. I understand prices should come down closer to travel dates. I am concerned that we arrive at the end of President's week, the Princess Marathon is that weekend and Daytona 500 is also the weekend that we arrive. The one thing that encourages me is looking at the December car rental thread the Christmas week did come down I think around the 19th of December. If anyone has any other codes or ideas there are 6 of us arriving TPA February 20th at 11:00 and leaving MCO on March 5th at 2:00. At this time the car rental is costing more than our 2 weeks in a 3 bedroom condo at Reunion Resort

What dates did you think were not valid? It is posted as good through 2015.

if you type in those dates now 2/16 to 2/24/2015 you will see that IT IS all sold out. Try it.

When we went to Hawaii this summer, I had booked a number of Alamo one day reservations. (Prior to the change.) Before our trip, I received notification about them dropping the complimentary second driver, BUT, since our reservations all took place before the change date we had no issues. Now, I don't think anyone gets them anymore.

ETA: Found the email from Alamo. Here's the excerpt:

Also effective June 16, 2014, the Alamo Insiders program will discontinue the complimentary additional driver option. What hasn’t changed is our commitment to providing you with great cars at the best possible rates so your vacation travel is smooth and enjoyable.

When you look at their terms and conditions page, the additional driver is no longer listed as a benefit of membership.

This code worked for me for 2/24-3/2. We got a minivan for $282. Before I found the code, the best we could find was $508 (including taxes and fees AND my DH corporate rate)!!! Thanks so much!!!!!

I just made a reservation with those codes. It appears they are codes for VroomVroomVroom.com. Many of the fees as well as insurance are included, so it turns into a good deal.

So the vroom vroom code was showing one price on the page where you pick your vehicles (a reasonable $200 for 9 days) but when checking out it'd be raised to $260 or more. I also found online that vroom vroom is for int'l travelers and that's why it comes with insurance. There were reports of people being denied the free insurance if they were US citizens.

Is deal too good to be true??

I need a mini-van and the best I could find before was $901.xx all-in for our trip 3/11 - 3/21. This was with a different rental company, using a different discount.

I was hoping to find an awesome deal, but is it too good to be true? The code for Alamo insiders brings my total to $376.xx!!!!

Is there a cancellation policy using this code? I don't really expect to find anything better, but I'd like the freedom to cancel IF another stellar deal comes up.
