February 2014

Just curious. Had a friend tell me she did a photopass share this year. She joined a group on FB. I'm just curious if we have one on here? I'd love to do it, but no way can I afford the price alone. I will be taking my camera, and I know the photographers will use it, but I'd still like to join in one if possible.

And how long does it take to get added to the FB group for the Feb 2014 goers? Is that admin on here?

Quinn if we can get a group and group leader I would love to join as well. :goodvibes

Hi all! And Happy New Year a few hours earlypixiedust: Does anyone know where the participants in the Twirl competition, Feb. 14-17, are staying? Wasn't concerned at all when I realized the Cheer competition is on while we're there since I doubt they'll be at POFQ, but we'll be at AOA the end of our trip, and I'm wondering if they may put them there as its a value.

Also, has anyone been to HS the day the cheerleaders do their competition there? Josh at Easywdw says they don't impact wait times, just possibly CS lines, and we're planning on being there the 9th. We haven't been in Feb. in quite a few years -no cheerleaders last time :) Thanks!

Does anyone know what time the dance competitions are at HS? The link posted on here gave no detailed info on the time, only that it was at Indiana Jones stadium.

After your posts I read up on it a little ... what a great idea!! If you folks get one started, may I also take part? We are visiting for our first trip Feb 12-17.

I'll be going to WDW this February for my first solo trip, staying at Pop Century Feb 10-16

Does anyone have any tips on telling a 3 year old that your going?? She wants to meet Cinderella so bad, but at the same time, I'm not ready for the constant pestering that she will unleash in the next 31 days lol. We went to the beach last year, she knew before we went and it was every single day she asked are we going yet?! Drove me crazy! I know the ride of "Are we there yet?" Is going to be bad enough lol

Hi all! I just sent a request to join the FB group (Carri-Ann Scott).

I haven't told DD we are going yet either. It is to be a surprise for her 7th birthday, but I'm sure she will find out sooner or later :)

I don't have any ideas on how to tell her, but maybe you won't get the pestering that you got last year. If you tell her you're going next month, she might have a better understanding than she did a year ago. A 3 year old has a better concept of time than a 2 year old. You could also make a paper chain with 31 links and have her rip one off every day. Tell her when there are none left, that's when you'll be going to Disney!

We do a chart with a count down. One box for each day with the number of days left. Each morning the kids get to cross off a box. It's a visual reminder of how many days are left. I don't think either of my girls (7 and 4) have asked about when we leave (yet). We did the same thing when we went when my oldest was 2 years 9 months. She loved being able to use a marker to cross off the days.

LOL we made one of those for Christmas and never used it! And it fell in line with our count down yesterday!! Awesome! Thanks

Hi and welcome to the group! I just added you to the list.

So, what are you looking forward to the most?

EVERYTHING!!! I don't know if I'm more excited because I've never been, or more anxious to see my 3 year old's face when she realizes we are at "Cinderella's House" Every time she sees a picture of the castle she asks when will Cindy be home, she wants to see her.

I'm really not sure! lol. I'm a bit nervous about spending so much time alone haha. But it will be nice to just be able to do whatever I want and go to different pool bars and that sort of thing.

Hopefully the weather will be great in February so you can have lots of time by the pool. Enjoy meeting new people and just remember, a short conversation might lead to a great friendship.

I know that I have met a lot of my close friends now, just by striking up a conversation with them. So, don't let that stop you.

That will be a special memory for you when you are actually at the Magic Kingdom and she sees the castle and Cinderella for the first time.

So, have you decided how to tell her you are going and when?

Not yet. We go to the circus the 31st and then leave and drive to FL. Dh says we should tell her we are going to see another circus and then when we go to MK the next day let her figure it out when she see's the castle.

She will flip out! Not in a bad way, so I think we can keep it secret til then. But my DH and Mom are both going, and I'm the only who is is SUPER DUPER excited. They are excited but not at my level, and I swear I want to tell DD just so someone can freak out with me!
