Cancelled BOG for 2/8 for party of 3 @ 7:15 a few minutes ago. Would have given a heads up, but wasn't expecting an earlier time to come up.

If your invited, does it use up one of your fast pass+ for that day? I guess I really don't understand what the BOG fast pass is all about.

According to the Cast Member to whom I spoke:
Disney was sending out a limited number of invites via email to book a FP for BOG for testing purposes. You could also book your meal in advance and it would be ready quickly after you are seated. This FP did not count against your daily total of 3. This invite was originally sent out via email, but when Disney realized that the link was being placed on various boards, they stopped. This is why they created the "list" to check your name against and cancelling folks who were not invited. The CM said that now, they are inviting folks to test this upon check-in.

So, there's still a chance that any of us can be invited as we're checking in, but I'm gonna skip the online FP link and take my chances as a walk-up - unless we are "chosen" as we check in, then we'll do it all "legally" to eliminate the possibility of getting cancelled.

I'm curious to see if this is true. I haven't seen anyone post on any boards or FB pages that they booked a BOG fastpass and then it wasn't honored when they got there. Not doubting that you were told this but I haven't heard this before. I would think Disney would be able to stop anyone who was not "invited" from booking on the website rather than allowing people to book and then have a list of people who will be canceled when they show up. :confused3

I totally agree. Personally, I was able to successfully make a lunch res at BOG (selected the food, etc.) using FP+ on the BOG site. No problems although time will tell once we arrive in February! Still, I can't imagine folks who used the site to make a res being turned away at the podium. That would be Meltdown City.

I did have difficulty making the res, however. When I first tried this in December, I was unaware that BOG did not make lunch ressies available until just a few weeks prior to the start of whatever month you desire. Given that we are headed down in Feb, I struck out in Dec. But not before registering for the site using the Magic Bands res/confirmation # on the My Disney Experience page. When I tried again, I received the "Reservation ID Not Found" prompt that so many others have also sadly experienced. My workaround solution was to wait until I knew that February ressies were officially available, then use the same res/conf # but enter a different user name than mine (I used my son) - bingo! It popped me into the site and automatically brought up my entire family without further action.

A sidenote: once our Magic Bands arrived at our house, the res/conf. # was no longer listed on the Magic Bands page on the My Disney Experience tab. I had to call the Dis and speak with MM+ to get the number.

Good luck. And peeps - pls report back!

Just cancelled these for 5 guests:

Feb 14 Liberty Tree Tavern lunch 12:55
Feb 15 Whispering Canyon 6:55 ish
Feb 16 Ohana breakfast 9:05

I'm curious as well. I had two different times scheduled for the 6 in m family, and I would have kept the times if I felt they wouldn't have been cancelled. Instead, I'm going to play by the "rules" and just get there early enough to get in without a FP. Good luck, everyone! And, yes, report back!

I doubt it since Disney has contact information for those who made FP+ reservations for BOG and could have contacted people to cancel those reservations in advance if they wished. Deciding to dump the problem on the CM at the restaurant in a busy theme park is ridiculous.

I booked a FP for BoG when we were there in November without an "invitation" and had no trouble when we arrived. I have a friend there this week who did the same thing--no problems at check in.

i would be cautious to go by people's past experiences. just because someone's non-invite reservation was valid today doesn't mean disney won't pull out the rug tomorrow. the entire fp+ rollout has been that way.

i would find it very odd for them to do it without notifying those who had made reservations without an invite though. given that the site is linked to your MDE account, they would just need to send an email to the email address linked to your account stating some boilerplate about fp+ reservations being limited at this time to those invited.

Not sure if this is the best place to post this or not, but I'm looking to see if anyone will be canceling Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in MK for Feb 7? I of course waited until the last minute to decide if we wanted to spend the extra $ on it and as I expected its full :-(

If you can't make a reservation ahead of time, head to BBB as early as possible and ask about any cancellations. It worked for me this past summer. I was able to get an appt for an hour after I asked. It's worth a try.

Thank you! I will definitely try that if I can't get one before

Just keep calling to ask about cancellations. You'll likely have luck getting an appt about a week ahead of time. it never hurts to try! We've had success with it in the past.

I am going to be deleting these reservations within the next hour.
