Since you posted this, I went to the website and signed up--if they let us in, my daughter wants to do the animation class and the physics class.

The Youth Education Series is a program that offers classes to groups at Disney parks. We just participated in the program at WDW in November and it was great - the girls LOVED the class, and we all got discounted park tickets. It was a great deal.

When I learned that we would be heading out to California, I contacted the YES program and Disneyland, and learned that they offer open enrollment periods every month. There are a few classes offered over a period of a couple of days, but I'm not sure what they all are. One is "California, Here I come." and the one my girls can do is the Disney Animation class on the 21st, and we don't need to be part of an organized group of 15 students or more.

The discounted tickets are considerably cheaper than the Convention tickets we'd be getting if it weren't for the YES program.

I called the number for the YES program, and they said that they did not have enough people signed up for February to offer the YES classes! How many of us would like to sign our kids up for YES classes, and which classes? If there are 15 of us, we could set up our own classes, whether or not they run the individual classes.

There are two of us, and we will be there from 2/21 to 2/25. Is there anybody else who would like to send their kids to two great Disney classes? If we get 15, I will factor in the free ticket across all 15 of us, and remember, it means a 5-day pass for a LOT LESS than you'll buy at the parks.

Wow Laura. We went on the same EB Repo Cruise in 2008. We will be on the same Disney Dream Cruise this August 2011 and we will be in Disneyland at the same time next month!

We will be there from Feb 19-26... those are our flying days, but we get in late on the 19th and leave early on the 26th.

This will be our first DVC stay - Villas at Grand California (1BR).

May I ask how many days in advance you booked the GCV? We called to book ours yesterday and they said they were out. So we are now staying at PPH or else we would have to switch rooms in the middle of our stay.

I'm sorry--I should have read your post more carefully--if you're going in January, that won't work for this group get-together. However, you can still call the YES program and see if your girls can take the individual class.

YAY, DH, DS (16 months) and I are officially going!! We flying into LAX on the 13th and staying at the HOJO for 2 nights (as of now, this may be changed) and then we move to the Disneyland Hotel for 4 nights and start our Disney package!! So excited

This is our first time on the West Coast we've never been further than Michigan (and that was just a day trip to a tiny town!)

Then to top it off, we go to Las Vegas for 5 nights after Disney

We're really excited!! Never thought I would ever get to Disneyland

I made the ressie in late July and one or two of the days I was waitlisted for. The waitlisted dates cleard in early August.

I made the ressie even though the wife had not yet agreed to flying to LA (she just needed prodding).

That said, since we have a 7am outbound flight on the 26th, we may be dropping that one day from the ressie and get a hotel close to the airport.
