February 2011 - who's going? - IT'S FEBRUARY! WAHOO!

Oh no kidding.

I was kind of surprised after looking at what touringplans said to look on the Disneyland website that they still had rooms available and are dropping the prices. I am obsessive about checking the prices in case they drop to what I am willing to pay, so I have been watching the prices. They had been $213 a night. That is quite a change and then they go down to $150 a night the next week.

Here's hoping. :)

I've prepared Natalie for the worst, hoping for the best. If it's a nightmare, we will head back to the HoJo pool. :)

I am so hoping its not busy. We went the Sunday-Friday following the Friday opener of WoC in June. It was crazy busy.

We went Thanksgiving through the following weekend and it was crazy busy Thurs / Fri / Sat / Sun, then Mon - Fri was quiet, then Sat & Sun were crazy busy again. I told her this morning that if it's like that while we are there, we will rely on FPs, and take lots of breaks. And avoid Fantasyland or as we like to call it, stroller hell. :rotfl:

That's about the way it is in Adventureland too. You get swallowed up over there. It had to be crazy when you were, you are far braver than I am.

It used to be a ghost town when we went that time of year, but I think people are catching on and it's been much more crowded when we go now.

You know how crowded it gets in the pathway next to the Rivers of America? You could lose someone in that crush of humanity. I do love to sit and watch the people there.

Ah yes...that does get pretty congested. We tend to drop down the few steps towards the rail when we want to get through there quickly...fewer people standing around and being stupid, for the most part. I know there is / was a pet peeves thread a while back but I swear...I don't get these people that are walking and then suddenly STOP because they forgot where they're going or want to look at their map. PEOPLE! MOVE TO THE SIDE!

Also, there were a few times in Adventureland where I wanted to knock some heads together...groups of 10 - 15 people, standing and chitchatting in the middle of the walkway. So, so rude.

Oh I know. I have been walking in that area when a couple we were walking next to realized they had the wrong stroller and their child was in their stroller. They dropped everything including the wrong stroller, and turned and ran back. I think you see it all in Disneyland.

So they took someone else's stroller away from where it was parked, and then left it without returning it? Holy crap. I can understand the urgency in rushing back to find your child, but that only required that one of them do that...the other could have returned the stroller.

Did you read my TR about the lady at Fantasmic and her stroller?

Well, that was my thought.

I did not realize until today that you had a trip report. I am going to read it after I get home from picking my girls from school.

Oh, no problem....it's loooooong. ;)

I will copy and paste the stroller lady bit in a second.

As we were sitting and sipping our hot chocolate, I saw something that to this day, I can't wrap my head around. We watched the people who were all in front of us, jockying for position to see the show...and suddenly we noticed that right before the show started, a woman was getting very upset with one of the security guys, but we couldn't understand what was happening. UNTIL...she grabbed her Cadillac sized stroller and parked it back behind where people were sitting, roughly 25 feet from where she was sitting. She hissed "There....are you HAPPY NOW?!" at the security guy and everyone sitting around us sort of muttered that geez, she should take it easy, this IS Disneyland, for Pete's sake. Then she went back over and sat down with her husband and kids. Well, THEN the security guy tried saying something else to her but she gave him "the hand" and wouldn't acknowledge whatever it was he was trying to say to her. I could see people sitting around her cringing. The security guy walks away and comes back with a female supervisor. The supervisor says "Ma'am??" quite loudly and she whips her head around, at which point the supervisor says "You have to remain WITH YOUR CHILD, or I'm going to have to escort you out."

We all sat in stunned silence. This nut had actually parked her stroller, WITH HER INFANT IN IT, 20 or so feet away to watch the show (with her back turned to her baby). Seriously. She stormed over and yanked her baby out of the stroller which confirmed what none of us could actually believe. My god.

Taadaa.

I don't mean to hijack but your post have been cracking me up.. and the Fantasmic thing!! OMG!!! :confused3 What is wrong with people!?!?

Hey, you can't hijack the thread...that's what it's here for to talk about anything you want with the occasional "who's going" updates. :)

No one could believe that she'd left her baby. My jaw dropped and I had to consciously shut it...I was stunned.

Oh my gosh!! Seriously? Wow!! Sometimes I wonder. Did she think he was going to watch her baby? I would no more leave my baby than the man in the moon.

No....I think her baby was asleep and she didn't want to wake he / she up...and thought the baby would be perfectly fine in the stroller. I honestly think she thought nobody needed to watch her baby.

Would be funny if she was a DISer and read this. I'd love...LOVE...to hear her response to what we saw. Personally, I think it borders on abuse.

I was thinking that too.. I thought about saying.. hey that was me and defending myself! LOL but I couldn't think of anything to say that would justify leaving my child alone.. in a stroller.. in a crowded place!!
